Story
Ace is an amazing dog with a really sad story: he was brought to a high-kill shelter as a terrified stray and started experiencing kennel stress. We pulled him on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized and he has been in foster care for 4 weeks. He has came out of his shell and turns out he is a happy and extremely playful puppy! He is super smart and learns fast: potty trained, crate trained and on his way to being leash trained! We love his unique look with his big Batman ears (that’s why we named him after Batman’s dog). He is listed as 2 yo but seems younger. He craves affection and all he wants is a warm home and a human he’ll be able to love forever. Ace is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. He would love to be your only dog. (we’ll provide training sessions via the foster will fund it !) he will do great.

Story
Gigi truly has the most incredible disposition. Rarely do we see a dog that is so balanced! She always helps socialize our new rescues, but it's time for this amazing dog to get her forever home. Gigi is -friendly with all people and children -absolutely incredible with every dog she has ever met, very respectful of play styles, and just a silly girl overall! -potty trained, crate trained, incredible recall and obedience training. -excellent on leash and the absolute perfect companion for brunch! -the BIGGEST cuddle bug!! While this girl would love to go on camping/hiking adventures, she is more than happy to hang out at home and cuddle up for a movie marathon. She would be the perfect dog to take to kid's soccer games, she would be perfect as a roadtrip buddy, perfect for someone that wants the support of a best friend running errands every day. She is so versatile and well behaved. If you're interested in adopting Gigi, a true ambassador to our rescue, please apply today!

Story
About Me: Hi, I'm Olive! I had a rough start and was surrendered to a veterinary office where my future was uncertain. Luckily, a kind trainer took me in and helped me become the well-trained pup I am today! Personality: I'm a shy and skittish girl, but once I warm up to you, I'm a loyal companion. I need a patient family who understands my past trauma and is willing to give me the time and space I need to feel comfortable. I may be wary of strangers, but I'm full of love for those who show me kindness. Ideal Home: I'm looking for a calm and understanding family who will give me the love and patience I need to thrive. I prefer quiet environments and would do best in a home without too much hustle and bustle. I love the outdoors, especially the beach or a hike, so a family who enjoys outdoor adventures would be perfect for me! I also get along well with other well-trained, mild-tempered dogs. Health: I'm in good health and fully trained thanks to my wonderful trainer. I'm up-to-date on all my vaccinations and ready to find my forever home. ##1630754##

Story
Meet Gus, a 3 year old 60 lb Lab mix who was rescued with his brother from a barn in Barstow on Christmas Eve '22. They were found along with several other dogs who had been abused and neglected. Gus particularly had deep cuts and scars all over his sweet face. And yet, these boys wanted so badly to trust those rescuing them. We originally wanted to keep the brothers together, but it was proving to be more detrimental than helpful for them. Gus' brother was quickly adopted, and when they separated that was tough on Gus. His foster didn't have the time and patience to help him through it with at home training. So he went to board and train to work on his fears and separation anxiety. Gus has come such a long way in his journey. He's been working very hard with his trainer and has overcome his fear of the crate. He loves walks and hikes and is very food motivated. Peanut butter is this guys favorite treat.  He now warms up to people in under 5 minutes and is asking for belly rubs. Gus needs a patient adopter or foster who's willing to continue helping him gain his confidence, and continue his training. He would does well with other calm dogs. No huskys or large energetic dogs, and while he has worked hard on his impulse control on chasing small animals, no cats. Please help Gus get out of boarding and apply to adopt him today! Story
Officially introducing and welcoming Lala to the Samsons Squad! Lala is a petite 11 year young lab who was brought into Coachella Valley Animal shelter as a stray. This sweet senior girl was past her deadline and at risk for euthanasia! We are so thankful for the networkers and fosters who stepped up and drove hours to get her where she needed to be! So far we know Lala loves to be pet, eat treats, and take long walks full of lots of sniffs. She is a bit hard of hearing and nearsighted. Lala has several benign masses that were checked and tested by a vet shortly after we rescued her. She is currently with a very loving foster who was able to give Lala the second chance at life she so deserves! She even dressed up as a bat for Howloween! Apply to adopt this frosted face beauty on SamsonsSanctuary.org today!

Story
Kodak is a one year old border collie lab pit mix of sorts that was pulled off the euthanasia at a county shelter., Kodak aims to please and loves to be next to his humans. He is a sweetheart that thinks he’s a small lap dog and just wants to be cuddled. Kodak knows multiple tricks that he’s learned and only a short period of time and has the potential to learn so much more. He walks wonderful on leash, knows how to sit on command at crosswalks and in the elevator, etc. He does well in reactive environments, can go indoors to restaurants/stores and be on his best behavior. Kodak loves to chew on his toys and knows not to touch shoes or anything off-limits to him, it only takes one correction for him to leave those objects alone. He plays very well and gentle with smaller dogs that he lives with currently and is interested in making friends outside. however, he is a bit nervous around larger dogs on leash. Does well with small dogs and cats, has been gentle and sweet with kids. Overall, his demeanor is very gentle and loving as he just wants to be someone’s best friend and be praised and loved. All dogs in our program are up to date on all their shots, spayed or neutered, and micro chipped. Our dogs are in foster homes which enables us to learn more about them in a home environment. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. An application, adoption fee and contract are required. Please direct all questions to adopt@crdogrescue.com. All our dogs can be met with an approved application. Thank you for looking at a rescue dog for your next family member.

Story
This is Gracie, she is a 6 year old lab/Shepard mix and the most affectionate girl. She loves going for walks, car rides and belly rubs. She is 100% healthy and up to date on all shots, exams, heart worm, and flea/tick medication. She is house trained, has been in training with certified trainers, leash trained, and such a good girl! She is afraid of loud noises (like thunder and fireworks) and prefers to hide in a cozy nook during firework season. Gracie LOVES humans but she does not like strange dogs and would do best in a home without other pets.

Story
Haus is an awesome pup. He needed some work in the beginning but he has responded wonderfully. Haus is always ready for a walk. He likes longer walks, but he's happy with a quick trip around the block with his human. He's learned to always walk with slack on his leash. Haus takes pride in chasing squirrels, rabbits, etc. from the backyard but he doesn't react to critters on walks. Haus does great in public. He's a wonderful lunch companion. He will occasionally howl in the beginning because there are so many people who aren't paying attention to him but he settles in quickly. Then he completely mellows out. Maybe it's because he knows he'll get a special treat if he behaves. Haus still has some puppy spirit in him. He loves his toys. Sometimes he will play with multiple toys at the same time. He always lets you know when he's ready for some fetch or tug. Part of his version of those games is making you chase him to get the toy back. Haus loves to cuddle. He loves to make new friends. He does well when we have visitors and he's good with children. He listens and obeys very well. Haus does need a yard and someone who will walk him a few times a day. He's much more independent when the sun is out but it isn't too warm. He's pretty happy laying on his hammock in the backyard on a nice day. Haus is good being near dogs, but doesn't do well WITH dogs. His interactions are fine when he's feeling mellow and so is the other dog. He just doesn't know how to play with other dogs. He doesn't realize how powerful he is, so his "play" is pretty overwhelming and doesn't go well as a result. Haus is a big 85 lb baby, and an amazing companion at home. He's independent, quiet, and loves to be around people, but isn't needy or distracting. He's also deceivingly intelligent; he learns new tricks very quickly, and will do anything for a treat! His favorite place to sleep is on your bed, if you let him-- but he's also a mattress hog and likes to take up half the space. ;) Haus is very intuitive and takes a bit of caution when meeting new people, but once he knows you, he's wonderfully protective and caring. He's a big couch snuggler and loves attention. He's quite literally perfectly behaved at home. Haus does struggle with leash reactivity on walks (with dogs especially), and he's wary of strangers and needs to be muzzled when out on leash. He loves going outside and exploring, so if you're an active, strong-bodied person who's willing to love him with his reactivity struggles, he'll be a perfect buddy! Haus is a very special gentleman who will consistently brighten your day with his infectious smile. He carries himself with the maturity and mellowness that come with age but still possesses a youthful joy for life. He is intelligent, sweet, playful, loving and obedient. Haus is happiest when getting plenty of exercise and is always ready to go on a long walk. He responds well to someone who is confident and calm. He will walk right at your side once that bond has been established. Haus is somewhat independent but he loves to be close to his people - and not just for the belly rubs. Haus should be the only dog but he fills his home with love.
