Story
You're giving me the chance to tell you a little about myself? Well, thank you! I came into rescue as yet another black male mix. There are so many of us in shelters that we get overlooked so I was very relieved to head to RROC. Life was going so well until I was matched to an applicant who was interested in meeting me. The dog in the family obviously had a different plan and went after me at the meet. Since then, I've been very worried about meeting unknown dogs. I've found that making a total loudmouth of myself prevents these unknown dogs from getting close and attacking me. Careful, slow introductions with new dogs helps but I'm perfectly happy as a solo dog. My foster home takes me for walks where and when I won't encounter other dogs. I'm also just fine having a yard of my own to get exercise and not going on walks at all. I think you'll agree I'm well worth any efforts to prevent further trauma to me. Everyone who knows me describes me as sweet and loving and well-behaved. I love learning new commands and behaviors. Please help me find my new home by telling everyone you know who is looking for a dog all about me! On behalf of all black mix male dogs everywhere, I'd appreciate it! We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will not discuss a specific dog with an applicant until the adoption process is completed. Our adoption fee for dogs under 9 months is $400, dogs between 9 months and 8 years is $350. Please visit our website for more information. Thank you!

Story
This excellent companion dog is Worthy! He adores his people and loves to cuddle. He also loves to exercise, so he would be great for someone who is looking for a running buddy and a play buddy for another active dog. He can be shy when first meeting someone new and needs someone who knows how to make him feel safe in those situations, but once he is shown everything is ok, he does so much better. Worthy's foster mom says he is very smart and knows lots of tricks! He is also crate trained and house-trained and is working on leash training. He would be a great fit for anyone who is looking for a running and cuddling buddy. Worthy is so ready to find a family of his own to love! We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will not discuss a specific dog with an applicant until the adoption process is completed. Our adoption fee for dogs under 9 months is $400, dogs between 9 months and 8 years is $350. Please visit our website for more information. Thank you!

Meet Cora. This fun gal is definitely a busy little beaver! She delights in chasing anything and everything smaller than herself. In spite of her advanced age, she is fast and determined. Cora loves to go along on a car ride. She forms strong bonds with her chosen people. She's a dignified lady but, when she is comfortable and happy, you have never met a dog with more spunk than Cora. We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will not discuss a specific dog with an applicant until the adoption process is completed. Story
NEW BIO! My name is Ryman and I'm thrilled that you are reading my story! I'm not sure what happened to my life but I ended up in rescue. I know I was in great danger at the shelter and was one of the lucky ones to be chosen by RROC. You want to know a little about me? I do NOT like cats. That's nonnegotiable. No cats for me. And although I love girl dogs, I could do without most boy dogs. People? I'm so happy when people interact with me. I was not sure people liked me when I first arrived but my foster mom spent hours sitting next to me and giving me hugs, belly rubs, ear scratches, and snout kisses. How could a boy not like that treatment? But I am polite and don't push to get that attention, unlike some other dogs I could mention. I just lean into any affection that comes my way. The slightest, briefest pet, or even a smile directed my way, makes me grin for hours. I'm pretty much the easiest dog you could imagine: I don't ask for much but I get so appreciative of anything I get! Food and treats get me so excited, leaving me wiggling and wagging. I don't care if it's a dog biscuit, a carrot, or a strawberry, I just can't believe you're giving it to me! Give me a soft dog bed and I will curl into it with delight. I will hang out there until you tell me you want me to do something else. I love to run around in a yard big or small. I have energy to spare but it's very controlled: I'm the least hyper dog you'll ever meet. I'm very obedient when you call me back in. And I love to rub against the fence, making everyone laugh as I walk around while leaning into the fence! One absolutely adorable thing about me is that I have the silliest grin when I am very happy - I scrunch up my entire snout, close my eyes, and just wag nonstop. No mistaking my joy! Hard to get a photo of this but everyone giggles when they see me doing this! I'm definitely not conceited in any way, but people do mention how my particular set of genes have left me looking like a gorgeous land seal. I have never seen a seal and don't have a mirror so can't confirm nor deny these claims. Oh, you want my stats? My paperwork says I'm around eight years old but I could be anywhere from five to eight. For a retriever mix, I'm on the smaller side of average at around 50 pounds. Thank you so much for reading all about me! If you know anyone who would like a handsome, easy-going companion, please consider mentioning me. I'm loving life in my foster home but a home of my own is my ultimate dream. Have a beautiful day! We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to meeting a dog and potential adoption. Our adoption fee for dogs under 9 months is $400, dogs between 9 months and 8 years is $350 and 8+ years is $125.. Please visit our website for more information. Thank you!
