-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50-60 lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: DOB: 2/6/26 -KNOWN WITH DOGS: Puppies love to play with other dogs -KNOWN WITH CATS: appropriately curious with the resident cat -KNOWN WITH KIDS: Phoenix would do best with kids 14+ -KNOWN CUES: none yet -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Phoenix does have accidents from time to time in her kennel overnight, however she does well in her kennel at the farm during the day when given potty breaks every few hours (very normal given her age, she is making amazing progress) -KNOWN LIKES: cuddles and playing -KNOWN DISLIKES: younger kiddos who are rough with her ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Phoenix! 🧡 Phoenix is a gorgeous, sweet, and spirited puppy who's ready to find a family that can help her shine. Like many young pups, she's still learning the ropes and is full of playful energy! She loves to interact with people and can get a little mouthy during play, but that's a very common puppy behavior that improves with basic consistent training, appropriate chew toys, and positive guidance. Phoenix is a confident girl who enjoys a more energetic play style and would thrive with a family that's excited to invest a little time in training, enrichment, and daily exercise. She's incredibly smart and eager to learn—she just needs someone to show her the way. Her previous home wasn't the right fit, and Phoenix is looking for a fresh start with people who understand that puppies need patience, structure, and lots of opportunities to learn. In return, you'll get a loyal, loving companion who is ready to grow into an amazing adult dog. If you're looking for a fun, beautiful pup to join your adventures and don't mind putting in the work that every puppy deserves, Phoenix may be the perfect match for you! Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ISO fresh start and love! HARPER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Harper and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (06/21) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, VA (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:   Harper          Best Guess for Breed:   Rottweiler mix   Best Guess for Age:   7 years as of April 2026         SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   55 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Harper is Looking For:    Harper is ready to start her next chapter. With her soulful eyes and gentle presence, she has a quiet charm that draws you in and makes you want to learn more about her.  Harper is at that wonderful stage in life where she’s past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of love and companionship to give. Whether it’s joining you for a walk, lounging nearby, or simply being your steady sidekick, Harper is ready to find a place to call her own. What My Foster Says About Me:    Harper is a fun-loving, incredibly sweet girl who thrives on affection—she’s happiest curled up next to you soaking up cuddles and ear scratches. Social and eager to be part of the family, she loves meeting new people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Though she’s on the smaller side for a Rottie, she has the confident, easygoing spirit typical of her Rottweiler roots. She’s a low-maintenance companion with great manners. Harper rarely barks, walks beautifully on a leash, and settles easily in her crate for both overnight and daytime routines. She enjoys playtime with squeaky toys and may show a little playful stubbornness, but she’s responsive and builds trust quickly. Harper would do well as either a solo dog or with canine companions—she’s friendly, shares space and resources, and even enjoys grooming her dog friends. She’s also shown gentle curiosity toward other animals. She’s currently working on gaining weight after arriving underweight and is happily motivated by food and treats. While she may have a bit of stiffness in her rear legs, she gets around well and has handled stairs and walks (up to 2 miles!) with ease  A true couch companion at heart, Harper would love a home where she can relax by your side and be included in daily life. She’s still polishing her potty routine but is making steady progress with consistency. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate dog with a gentle nature and a playful streak, Harper might just be your perfect match. Story
https://foha.org/pet/mason/ Hi there! I'm Mason! I certainly am an adorable Rottie mix who loves and plays hard. I am a pro when it comes to games of fetch. I'll perform all sorts of acrobats, even jumping in the air and twisting in every direction to catch a ball! I'm even learning to bring the balls back! I love car (or truck) rides. And I never met a trail that I did not want to explore. I meet everyone at my kennel with either a toy in my mouth or my food bowl. I am so happy to show them off to everyone. I have a full body wiggle when my favorite people are coming to get me out for a walk. I like other dogs with proper introductions. When I find a dog I like, I'll run & play until we're both dizzy with exhaustion. I'm a true "ladies man and would thrive in a home with another delightful female companion. I can be a bit shy at first, but then turn on that southern charm. I need an experienced owner and I need to be introduced to strangers slowly. But once I trust, I will enjoy cuddling in your lap. If you are willing and able to put the time into training me I will be sure to do my best to learn. Like most Rotties, I form strong bonds with those I love. I'm what they call a "diamond-in-the-ruff who will make a great life-long companion. I have been waiting a long time for my forever home. Loving, loyal, full of life. Come meet me!

Current Location: Westminster, MD Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

Story
ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Meet Marshall – A Sweet Senior Still Waiting for His Second Chance 🤎 Marshall—known lovingly by staff as “Marshy” or “Marshmallow”—has been waiting longer than most, and it’s hard not to feel how deeply he deserves to finally be home again. After spending 8 years in a loving, structured home, Marshall found himself back in the shelter system, and the sudden change was overwhelming for him. Kennel life has been especially hard, and his anxiety grew to the point where he now spends his days in the quieter break room at the farm, where he feels more comfortable and settled. And yet, even after everything, Marshall remains the same gentle, loving soul he’s always been. At his core, Marshall is a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to be near his people. Once he feels safe, his personality begins to shine in the most endearing ways. He’s goofy, expressive, and full of quiet charm—the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. Marshall loves car rides, happily curling up in the back seat before eventually popping his head up to feel the wind on his face through an open window. He enjoys his naps, leans in for every bit of affection he can get, and has a funny, endearing habit of “talking” to his people when he’s feeling happy or engaged. He’ll roll around with his toys, soak up scratches (especially his favorite booty rubs), and even entertain himself by rolling toys down little hills just to chase them again. There’s a playful, silly side to Marshall that still comes out when he feels safe—and it’s one of the most beautiful things about him. What Marshall needs now is simple, but deeply important: a calm, loving home where he can feel secure again. A place where he can finally exhale, rebuild trust, and enjoy the comfort of belonging. He has already given so much of his heart in his lifetime. He’s just waiting for someone willing to give theirs back. Marshall is a senior, and no senior dog should have to spend their golden years in a shelter. To help him find the family he so deeply deserves, his adoption fee has been waived and he is part of our REWARDS program. Somewhere out there is a soft place for Marshall to land. We just need someone to see him. ESTIMATED WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 65 pounds. KNOWN WITH DOGS: Marshall is picky about his dog friends and would do best as the only dog in the home. KNOWN WITH CATS: Marshall is not a fan of cats so we think a home without them would be best. KNOWN WITH KIDS: Kids can make Marshall nervous and he would like to find a home where he can be the only child. KNOWN CUES: Sit, Down, Wait, Come, Crawl, Touch, Spin, Wait, Leave it KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Marshall is housebroken and does well when left alone. KNOWN LIKES: Love and attention, Toys, Food, Walks, Car rides, People, The Park KNOWN DISLIKES: Thunderstorms ___________________________________ If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: trailshomefarm@homewardtrails.org PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ LOCATION:Trails Home Farm ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Trails Home Farm HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: All dogs located at Trails Home Farm are in Delaplane, VA and require an appointment for approved applicants to have a meet and greet. ADOPTION FEE: Adoption Fee: WAIVED! We thank DoodyCalls of Northern Virginia for their generous sponsorship of Marshall which means he is FREE! His adoption fee has been sponsored by DoodyCalls of Northern Virginia! You can learn more about them at https://www.doodycalls.com/northern-va/. I'M ALSO PART OF THE REWARDS PROGRAM. WE WILL ALSO PAY MY FOSTER OR ADOPTER $500. HT has a number of dogs that need very special homes. These dogs have been failed by humans along the way, leaving them homeless and with issues from their treatment. We'll be honest. Some of them are real jerks. But not always. And not to everyone. Not everyone can be charming ALL the time, right? Others are just fearful and don't like other animals because they have had a bad interaction at some point. Some of them love other dogs but are just plain scared of everything. But all of them are good on the inside. And we believe that ALL of them deserve a chance at life and love. And we're looking to find the right human out there to make that happen. But competition is tough. And they're up against small, well-behaved doggies...so we are offering incentives for special humans willing to give these pooches a chance. WE WANT YOU! ***We are paying $500 to any approved foster or adopter of our REWARDS dogs.*** The human will also get ongoing training support, all supplies covered and a $25 Amazon gift card each month for 6 months. You will learn and grow. You will be doing a world of good for a dog who has really had it rough in life. ------------- HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: -Spay/Neuter -First 3 distemper series vaccines and dewormings -Rabies vaccine* age appropriate at time of adoption -Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees -Current on heartworm preventative -Current on flea/tick preventative ---- EXCLUSIVE HTAR ADOPTER BENEFITS: -$15 off your first chewy order of $49.00 or more -Exclusive pet insurance offers - $250 coverage at any VCA Hospital in the country -COMPLIMENTARY FIRST EXAMS at 10 DC-Area veterinarians - Free year-round dog training - KEEP YOUR PET SAFE: Homeward Trails is proud to offer PetLink GPS trackers that will allow you to know where your pet is in real time.**Exclusive for HT Adopters (does not include subscription plan): $50 Check it out here: https://landing.petlink.net/gps-dog-tracker -A portion of EVERY ADOPTION FEE supports spay/neuter efforts in under resourced communities -Free doggy day care offers -EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNTS for Homeward Trails events and merchandise -Win a $50 Amazon gift card
