Meet Ozzy, an 18-pound shihtzu/poodle mix. Our vet estimates his age as three to four years old. Ozzy is the ultimate cuddle bug — his favorite place in the world is right on your lap, showering you with endless love and kisses. He walks wonderfully on a leash and even lifts his legs up to help you put his harness on (how adorable is that?). He loves following his foster mom anywhere she goes around the house and is always looking up at her with those gorgeous puppy dog eyes. He is very affectionate and just wants to find his forever home that will treat him like the little prince he is! Ozzy is an absolute sweetheart who adores people, he is amazing with cats, and gets along well with dogs. He prefers to have a little personal space from other dogs so he would do best in a home with calm dogs who respect his space. He will do a little mini growl if a dog is getting too rambunctious and in his personal space, but he has never shown any aggression towards another dog. He’s crate-trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and is doing great with his potty training. With a little positive reinforcement (and plenty of treats), he’s eager to please and quick to learn. This precious 10.5 lb, 7-8 yr old, tri colored (mostly white), Shih Tzu is the true definition of a lap dog. She can be independent at times (mostly when she is sleeping) but her favorite place is sitting on the couch with you while you watch Netflix! She likes to snuggle with you in bed at night, so if you don’t want this….she’s not for you! We haven’t seen Mimosa actually play with toys, but she does run after them, well maybe trot, but doesn’t do anything with them. Mostly, she likes to be with her human and we don’t think her feet ever touch the ground all too often, as she’s not sure where the bathroom is…she has had a few accidents but mostly she goes outside. Mimosa is a good eater but we don’t think she was pampered in her former home. She came to us with a back full of scabs from biting and chewing at herself. She has been on antibiotics to clear it up, she’s been groomed and she is only eating the best food and treats! More and more of her personality reveals itself the longer we’ve had her but we know she is absolutely precious and even though she might be part diva, she will make someone a very happy parent! ***ADOPTION PENDING*** PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET PANDA…a precious 11 lb., black/white, 5-6 yr old Shih Tzu X — maybe with Maltese — who hails from Mexico! This little one-eyed wonder was rescued off the streets of Tijuana with a torn ACL and not the best hips (no surgery needed at this time)…but lucky for him rescuers who specialize in saving these babies from there came to his rescue! They contacted us and we were happy to take him. He looks so much like a Panda…that had to be his name! Panda is a sweetheart, but as you can imagine, after coming off the streets of a foreign country and then traveling to San Diego and then Los Angeles to us, he is still a bit shut down and confused. He is quiet as a mouse, eats like he loves his new food and is very low key. Panda relished in having a warm bed, good food, a roof over his head and lots of cuddling and loving. He has been neutered, got a dental and is now having orthopedic surgery to help him to get healthy and some normalcy in his life. We are not sure how he tore his ACL, and he has learned to cope with it — but he will be happier when it’s healed. He hasn’t been able to enjoy playing or running around, but now will will be able to do everything! Panda won’t be available to adopt until after the New Year (4-6 weeks recovery), but we will make appointments to see and pre-adopt him if the right home presents itself. What we know about him is he is a happy boy, likes to go on walks now that he knows how to walk on a leash (and will love his walks once he no longer limps 🙁) and is a really sweet, wonderful boy. He came with a baseball sized testicular tumor that fortunately didn’t metastasize so no cancer! Dolby’s foster calls him one of the easiest, most enjoyable dogs they’ve ever had….calm, gentle and content — an independent little guy who also truly loves his people. Everyone who has met Oliver comment on how joyful he is — from the vet to the groomer — and we have to agree We had to include a picture of Oliver with all the toys he collected to illustrate how much he loves toys! He will chase after them and grab one from wherever he is…but gently and not aggressively! We have yet to hear him bark, but he doesn’t like being left alone so another pup must be in his future. We would also like his family to be around to give him a lot of love and attention, which he will return multiple times over! He is a great eater, and if there are other dogs around he might check out what they have in their bowls to make sure he has the best one! But when you direct him back to his bowl, he is compliant! Oliver also loves to get belly rubs and if you are looking to calm him down, that’s the way to do it….he actually goes into nirvana until the belly rub is over — and if he isn’t sleeping, he is busy kissing your face all over…one of his favorite things to do!
