Danny is sweet and adorable and looking for a great forever home! Danny was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. Both of his eyes were damaged so they were removed, he was neutered he got a dental, is up to date on shots, micro-chipped, heart-worm and fecal tested negative. He gets along fine being blind and is good with other dogs. Danny is friendly and sweet. He is about 15 years old, 13 lbs, a shih tzu, and will need regular brushing and grooming to keep his fur looking beautiful. His adoption fee has been sponsored! Pooh is adorable and looking for a great forever home! Her DOB 5-4-23 so she is 10 mo old. Pooh's mom is a Pug and dad is a Shih Tzu. She is a LOVER!!!! Current on all shots plus rabies. Emily is looking for a great fur-ever home! She is a 10 pound, female shih-tzu born on 12/05/21. Emily was released by a breeder who decided they did not need her anymore and has never been bred. She has lived in a cage her entire life, so she is not house or leash trained. Because Emily is very skittish and fearful, she will do best in a quiet home with a patient, experienced adopter (with no young children) willing to work with her and let her get comfortable at her own pace. She will need a fenced yard with another calm, socialized dog to teach her the ropes. She is starting to show her adventurous side by exploring her foster home, enjoying looking out the window, and being outside. Nikki is sweet and looking for a great forever home! Nikki is a 7-8 mos old and a very sweet and smart girl. Does well in a quiet environment and is recommended in a family with older kids as she is deeply afraid of small children, and sudden noises and movements. She’d do best in a home with another dog as she does not like to be alone. She is pee pad trained and we are working on her harness and walking but she is fearful of outdoor spaces . She may do best in a securely fenced yard but shows signs of flight risk, so must be watched at all times. She is playful, loves toys and cuddles. Nikki is a breeder release and will be getting a spay soon so we are accepting applications on her. DOB: 8/24/23 and she is a Shichon which is a Bichon Frise crossed with a Shih Tzu. Meet Tinker! She is guessed to be about 4 years old and weighs 10.5 lbs. She is a really sweet girl who will make a great companion. She's sweet, well-behaved, and lovable. She rides well in the car and does wonderful on walks. She would love her own fenced in yard with grass to roam and play in. She does have some narrowing of spaces between her vertebrae, Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). It will be important to ensure she does not jump on or off furniture, does not engage in high impact activities, or activities which could cause back strain- like sudden changes of direction, and that she maintains a healthy weight. Complications with IVDD can lead to paralysis and incontinence, so it is best to manage and prevent any back strain. Because of the IVDD she does have a slightly abnormal gait, but she gets around with no issues right now. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at info@perfectpooches.org. Astrid is the sweetest little thing! This precious girl came to us from a local animal control. She had been found as a stray in absolutely awful condition. One of the worst cases of matting we've ever seen, she was an absolute angel for grooming, even though it must have been uncomfortable. She was so happy to have all those mats and knots gone! She immediately started running about and playing with toys! Astrid loves everyone, from toddlers to adults to other animals. She LOVES being held and she'd be fine if her 4 paws never touched the ground, lol. She has the sweetest disposition and is truly an angel. She had some bad teeth, we've gotten her a dental cleaning and had 2 teeth removed. She's been fully vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped. She tested positive for Lyme disease, but is asymptomatic. She's being treated with antibiotics and we expect her to be right as rain! Being an all white dog with blue eyes, she is partially deaf and seems to have some issues with depth perception, which we would expect with that genetic combination. It does not slow her down at ALL. She is a happy go lucky princess! She does not go outside on her own, we have not gotten her to the point where she lets us know she needs to go outside. Her foster mom walks her outside and sets her in the grass and she happily goes potty outside, but you do need to be proactive and take her out. She is soft as a cloud and affectionate as can be. Astrid's adoption fee is $250. Our best estimate as that she is 6-8 years old. You can see her before photo and she's unrecognizable after grooming! The video was taken at the groomer's salon fresh after her haircut, and you can see just how happy and joyful she was to be free of all that mess!
