When this poor little gal wandered up to someone's house as a stray and no owner could be found, Souffle was taken in by a rescuer. She will be heading soon to NorthStar Pet Rescue to find a permanent home. She was quite neglected in her previous home but she has seen the vet and begun treatment for dry eye and her infected ears. She will also be getting a dental & any other vetting she needs to feel better! She was such a trooper throughout her vetting - we were all impressed at her sweet personality. Souffle is about 14 years old and weighs under 17 pounds. She is housebroken and loves to go for car rides! She does fine in a crate or an inside pen. And as you can see in the video, she's a champion leash walker! Her favorite activity is sitting in your lap. This gal is a big-time snuffler! At only 9 pounds, Bitty is an itty bitty senior gal who is 12 years old but still has enough spunk in her to be the life of the party! She is really sweet, calm, comes when called, has a good appetite, is a good sleeper and has an adorable little personality. She acclimated to all the dogs in her foster home immediately and just wants to be with her person/people. Bitty is a precious petite girl whose tail wags constantly! She does have some skin irritations that she is scratching and large bald areas on her butt and back! Bitty enjoys small squeaky toys and really soft treats. She was rescued from the same shelter as Suey, her BFF, in case you are looking to add 2 little dogs to your family! Maser's owner brought him to a Texas shelter and as a "euthanasia request" as they could no longer care for him. Just in the nick of time, this senior Shih Tzu was pulled to safety by NorthStar Pet Rescue. He will be checked over by their vets to see what health issues Maser needs to have treated. Maser is 8 years old and weighs 16 pounds. Once he has been vetted, he will be able to find a loving forever home. Story

DD and Sammie found themselves homeless and were forced to live outside. They're safe now in a foster home and they're ready for a permanent place to live. DD is a 7-yo Yorkie and weighs 11 pounds. Sammie is a 4yo Shih-Tzu and weighs 9 pounds. They are very attached to each other, and we will only place them together. They are absolute cuddle bugs and if you’re a couch potato, these could be the dogs for you. They are working on potty training and doing great but they do still have pee accidents in the house if they don’t have a chance to go out. They need a very consistent routine where they are taken out every 2 hours as they continue to be potty trained. They will occasionally use a pee pad inside. Continued house training will need to be a priority in their new home. They love toys and DD carries one in her mouth most of the time. They are yappy little dogs. DD loves everyone she meets even if she barks at them at first. Sammie really wants to be a baby and have a mama that will hold her and snuggle all the time. She’ll sit on your lap for hours while you work. She seems to bond with the woman in the family that cares for her. In order for a man or another person in the house to bond with her, they will need to put in a lot of work holding her, petting her and being patient. It takes a lot of time for her to be ok with other people that she is not bonded with, and she will bark at anyone she isn't bonded with every time she sees them. This requires patience. DD barks to say hello to everyone and Sammie barks to say stay away. They are good with cats and other dogs. They romp and play with each other and have a blast. A retired person or someone that is home a lot is the perfect fit for them. They are crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on their vaccines. Sammie is afraid of fast movements so a home with children of any age is not ideal for her.
