Meet Tobey Maguire, a charming guy who is ready to find his forever home! Tobey is almost fully housebroken and gets along well with other dogs, making him a great addition to a multi-dog household. He’s particularly fond of his teenage foster sisters and enjoys cuddling up with them for some quality bonding time. Tobey is very affectionate with his foster mom, though he can be a little stubborn at times and may protest when asked to do something he doesn't want to do. He’s still getting used to his foster dad and can be a bit nervous around him, but with time and patience, he is learning to trust. Tobey has just recently started playing with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys toys as well—his confidence is growing every day! Tobey's ideal home is one where his family is patient and willing to work with a trainer to help him build trust, particularly with male family members. He will do best with older children. His family must be ready to set boundaries to ensure that all members of the family experience his cuddly,  loving side. With the right guidance, Tobey will continue to thrive and become an even more loving and confident companion. Alvin is a snuggler at heart and loves to curl up close to his people for some quality cuddle time. Meet Penny Penny is a purebred Shih Tzu who joined us in July after being found laying on a sidewalk in Chicago earlier in the summer during a heatwave. She was heatstroke and very dehydrated; a good Samaritan took her to the ER for immediate care. With fluids and support care, Penny recovered and was taken to Chicago Animal Control where she sat, until we took her into our Rescue. Penny is a sweet little pup, estimated to be 2-3 years old, and just 11 lbs. She has somewhat of a unique personality, for a young pup. She’s very mellow and is a bit of a loner. While fine with other dogs, she is not really interested in playing with them. That said, she may prefer to be an only dog but we do expect her to evolve into her true self, once she settles into her forever home with her forever family. Penny is fully vetted, heartworm negative and on year-round prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is reported to be housebroken as well.
