Story
I love Huey so much, but I have come to accept that my health condition is not letting Huey live his best life. He needs a better outlet to let out his energy, run, sniff, and play tug/games. Huey needs an experienced dog owner that can help him with leash reactivity. Huey lives with a cat just fine, and a 10year old kid, but is leash reactive towards animals and some people when on walks. He is making progress with obedience training. Huey is friendly with guests that come into our house. Huey is 65lbs, but thinks he’s a 10lb lap dog. Huey is good with a few commands like sit, lay down, place, paw, leave it, wait, and I’ve taught him to scratch his nails on a sandpaper board. We are still working on his recall, drop it, and heel. Huey is NOT a counter surfer, but loves to sit next to me while I cut veggies.

Story
Daisy was rescued from being chained to a car fender with no food or water. The residents had moved and left her—according to a neighbor. The chain was 10’ and her only shelter was under the car. She was laying in her own feces. Someone I know took her from there, I got her healthy, spayed, rabies vaccine, vet checked etc. Daisy is pit bull mix, she looks like an Amstaff to me. She is super sweet, affectionate, eager to please and wants to be around her people. She enjoys playing with our young cat and leaves the older one alone.. She loves snuggling on the couch or a soft blanket on the floor. Did not test kennel training but I suspect she is fine with it. At first she never barked until she heard another dog bark and now she’s alerting. She walks okay on a leash, I did not test her walking skills past the front yard perimeter, but she is NOT a runner. Very sweet disposition. I’d like to keep her but my GSD says NO, so it’s not fair to her when I can’t show affection in return..

Story
Little pocket pittie Winny is searching for her furever home ❤️ she’s a total couch potato and lives to be your little spoon - she has some past traumas (don’t we all?) and is working on building her confidence in new situations - however due to her reactivity and strength despite her small size, she is looking to be an only child(pet). At home she listens well, rarely gets into anything, and is eager to train. She would be the perfect companion for someone who works from or just spends a lot of time at home and is looking for some super sweet company and affection.

Story
Animal Profile: Talia is an estimated 2-year-old, 42 lb spayed female who joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and good with people. We'd like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard. These pups were listed as Great Pyrenees mixes, but DNA testing revealed they are Pit Bull, Husky, German Shepherd, Chow Chow and Malamute, with a few other breeds in the mix. True Texas Mutts -- one of our favorite breeds. Foster Update: Talia is a social butterfly in our home, moving between dogs and humans. She is playful, goofy, joyful, creative and smart. She loves to go for active, long walks and short runs – but also enjoys quiet time. She loves to sleep in between me and my husband on the bed and is very quiet while sleeping. She will rest her head on your lap – looking for a connection. She is athletic and bouncy – like Tigger. She is easy to train and is very flexible. She lives with a male and female dog and is drama free with them. She shares toys, food, bones, beds – and anything else. She is affectionate toward them and is able to keep them both calm. She has been fostered with a dog-savvy 4-year-old for a few days with success.  Talia is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. Commands she knows include sit, lie down and heel. She is quiet in the home and rarely barks. She likes being outside – but also loves being an indoor dog.  She has a high prey-drive for things like squirrels and rabbits. She takes about a day to warm up to a new family, but after that she is good to go. She can easily hop a 6-foot fence, so care should be taken to keep an eye on her when bringing her home initially. She generally is not seeking to run, but has hopped out after squirrels, and when she got to her new temporary foster home. She has been to very crowded areas like coffee shops and Home Depot. She does okay, but gets a little nervous. She will generally lie down and stay quiet in that scenario. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.May 7, 2024, 4:12 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is an estimated 10-12 month old, 60 lb neutered male bully breed mix who was picked up as a stray and rescued from San Bernardino city shelter. At the shelter he was evaluated to be friendly with people and in playgroups with dogs of all sizes and genders. He has been in a temp foster home awaiting transport; they report Buddy is a total doll, good with dogs of all sizes including obnoxious little dogs, good in the crate, and even-tempered. We look forward to getting to know him in foster care.  Foster Update Buddy is a wonderful dog. He’s incredibly sweet, affectionate and loves snuggling. He’s also super goofy and loves playing with toys and playing fetch; sometimes he plays fetch by himself by launching his toys with his mouth! After walks or playing, he’ll happily snooze for several hours. He is AMAZING with all dogs big and small, and is pretty submissive when playing. He is great at giving my older dog space when she is not in the mood to play. He’s crate trained though sometimes does bark when we are gone, but this is becoming less and less frequent. He can sometimes be timid around new people but warms up quickly (and this is also improving every day). His leash manners need a little improving when he is walked with another dog, but does well when one-on-one. He hasn’t been kid or cat tested.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Angels of Rawley in California, originally pulled from San Bernadino City Shelter and arriving to Seattle on Sunday 1/7/24. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.May 7, 2024, 4:12 pm

Male, Young

Size

Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Animal Profile: Poe is an estimated 9-month-old, 33 lb male mixed breed (the shelter aged him at 5 months but he has all his adult teeth and we think he is closer to 9 months). He was a stray intake to the Caddo Parish shelter and despite his friendly temperament and ideal size, he was overlooked again and again. Poe is social and friendly with other dogs.  Foster Update: Poe is such a special boy. He is a happy-go-lucky pup full of playful and affectionate energy. He’s settled in quickly with his foster family and does well with the resident dog and cat. Poe sleeps soundly in his crate and will put himself in during the day for naps after tuckering out. He’s a bit of a goofball and smiles a lot. He’s super smart and with the right structure and committed leadership he is capable of learning so much. He already has a fair amount of basics down (sit, wait, come and kennel). Poe does great in the car and is pretty good on leash and happy to be wherever his people are. He’s a really great dog with so much love to give! 4/22/24 Update: Poe is currently living in a home with multiple dogs and young kids; he happily goes on adventures with volunteers such as hiking or trip to local breweries. Poe will alert when new people come to the home but is social and friendly meeting people. Poe needs a person who will create boundaries in the beginning or else he will test treating humans like his dog playmates with jumping and mouthing. Once he knows the rules he's quite happy to comply. He loves to run and wrestle with other dogs but reads social cues from dogs who do not want to play with him. We'd like to see him in a home with a resident energetic and tolerant canine companion. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arrived in Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on March 4, 2024. May 7, 2024, 4:12 pm
