Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Ben, AKA Big Ben, Gentle Ben is an 8.5 year old, large and loving Pit Bull mix (roughly 80lbs) who is great with people and is looking for his forever home where he can be spoiled and loved. He is our longest resident and has been looking for his forever home with our rescue for almost 6 YEARS! Ben is a really sweet boy who bonds deeply to his people and is very loyal. He needs room to roam and play and is best suited for life in a quieter area. He will need a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard. He is not an apartment or city dog. He would love nothing more than to take long walks with his owner and then cuddle up inside on a warm bed. Ben LOVES treats and would enjoy lounging around the house with a nice bone. He would also thrive in obedience training as he is smart and has a desire to please his people. Ben requires a large breed experienced home with no other pets in the home, preferably adult only home but he could be okay with kids 12 and older with evaluation. Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Meet Huck! He is an adorable ~35 lb, ~1 year old Pitbull/Cattle Dog mix who came to us with his brother, Micah from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He has been DNA tested and is a major mutts with lots of breeds! (Pitbull, Herding breeds, Chow, American Bulldog and German Shepherd!) Huck is living in a loving foster home and this is what his foster mom has to say about him! Don't be fooled by Huck's serious face and dramatic eyeliner - he's no drama queen. He's more of a Prince Charming :) Extreme cuddlebug: loves to loll his head into yours while you're on the sofa together, or when you're driving. Wants to sleep on the pillows curled up right next to you. Will put his paws on you for pets and hugs. Food motivated: he does best with a slow feeder toys for meals and loves treats for training! Active and agile: when he gets the zoomies, he races from bed to sofa to bed to sofa. Parkour parkour! Dog friendly: Loves to with his dog friends! He would love another dog friend in the home. Bonds deeply with his person and will look for them, stand by them, follow them from room to room, and does a great recall for that person. Until the bond is solid, he needs to be on leash or in a well-fenced area (yard, dog park) Rides very well in the car! Takes time to warm up to kids younger than 10, but he is getting better! He has discovered they can be the source of many delicious dropped food morsels. Very happy to take long naps on the bed, on the sofa, on the armchair in your office. He loves to curl up like a bagel in his favorite spots! He is a popular boy at the morning neighborhood gathering and "babysitters" have described him as a lovebug. Huck is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Baron is a 6 year old, 80-90lb big hunk of love, male Pit Bull. Baron is in a loving foster home and has been a great house guest! Baron has been waiting for his forever home for 4 years with us! He is super strong, energetic and goofy. Here is what his foster family has to say about him! ‘He loves the yard and having a house to roam around whenever he wants. He sleeps in the bed with his foster parents at night. During the day he stays gated in the kitchen while they are away at work, and spends his days sleeping quietly while they are gone. He is house-trained, and not destructive! He doesn't bark at anyone coming in the door. His leash manners in have improved drastically. He loves lounging on the couch and stretching on the floor. He has the best dinner manners and sits and waits for his bowl to be put down. He is eager to learn, so attentive and is an absolute people pleaser.‘ Baron loves to go for walks, run around and play in his kiddie pool with water. Baron is a large boy and very strong and will require a family that is experienced with bullies and or large breeds. Baron is not good with other dogs and since he is so strong and large, will need a family that will keep him safe and be diligent about keeping him away from other dogs. He is not very reactive though and can be polite and walk fine when seeing other dogs on walks. We recommend kids over 16 in the home or an adult only home. No cats. Baron will need a fenced yard since he is energetic and loves to run around. Baron is UTD on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $250.

Story
Honey is an approximately 1 year old ABPT and is the perfect ambassador dog for her breed. Sadly, she was abandoned in the countryside after having puppies. Honey is a super sweet pup. She is a velcro dog, loves other dogs and people. She lives in a foster home with 9 other dogs and there's been no behavioral problems whatsoever. She likes to play, but not overly rambunctious. Her favorite thing is being right beside her human. She doesn't like being alone, but quickly settles down with the moral support of her canine friends. It is unknown if she is destructive when left alone, because she is kenneled. She does have some grass allergies so she would do best in a home without grass. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and sprayed. She has no known health related issues. If you would like to be considered for Honey, please submit an application. Honey will not be available to renters, or homes without a secure fence. A home visit is required. Honey is a courtesy post for House of Hope at Shelton WA, she is not an FHDR dog. Her adoption fee is $400,

Story
Introducing Jackson, or as we like to call him, Jack Teller - a true survivor who has overcome countless obstacles in his journey. Imagine finding him at an intersection, abandoned and scared, anxiously waiting for his owners to return. It breaks your heart, doesn't it? But don't worry, this story has a happy ending. Despite his rough start, Jack Teller has blossomed into a remarkable companion. Like any dog, he was initially wary of new faces, but it didn't take long for him to realize that there are kind-hearted souls out there who only want to shower him with love and affection. And boy, did he surprise us all! Jack Teller turned out to be the friendliest pup around, melting hearts left and right with his warm greetings and wagging tail. He's not just good with people, but dogs too - a true social butterfly! Like many of our Tx dogs he is being treated for heartworms. NOTHING to worry about as this is very common here.  We will provide the medication to continue his treatment.   If you're looking for a hiking buddy or simply a furry friend to join you on leisurely strolls, Jack Teller is your guy. He absolutely loves going on walks and exploring the great outdoors. Plus, he's a pro when it comes to crate training. Talk about an all-around good boy! But here's the best part - this gentle soul is a hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered by the perfect forever family. We believe that every dog deserves a loving home, and Jack Teller is no exception. That's why we make regular trips to the Pacific Northwest, including a special stop in Bellingham, WA, just for our Canadian friends. If you're interested in adopting Jack Teller or want to find out more about him, head over to www.springbranchrescue.org. Don't miss out on the chance to welcome this incredible pup into your life. Trust us, it'll be a decision you won't regret. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wondering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. We know if adopted by you they will be loved and cared for . We believe in our local and out of state applicants.  There is a reason we drive to the Pacific Northwest every 2 weeks.  You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters and we need more like them.  No matter if you live here in Houston, the Pacific Northwest or Canada we welcome you!  Thank you for considering to adopt and not shop.  If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you are able to see our posts.  Unfortunatelly Meet & Greets have been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions.  Almost all our animals traveling have been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and very successful.  Please take a look at our adopters reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue ##1714321##

Story
Animal Profile: Talia is an estimated 2-year-old, 42 lb spayed female who joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and good with people. We'd like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard. These pups were listed as Great Pyrenees mixes, but DNA testing revealed they are Pit Bull, Husky, German Shepherd, Chow Chow and Malamute, with a few other breeds in the mix. True Texas Mutts -- one of our favorite breeds. Foster Update: Talia is a social butterfly in our home, moving between dogs and humans. She is playful, goofy, joyful, creative and smart. She loves to go for active, long walks and short runs – but also enjoys quiet time. She loves to sleep in between me and my husband on the bed and is very quiet while sleeping. She will rest her head on your lap – looking for a connection. She is athletic and bouncy – like Tigger. She is easy to train and is very flexible. She lives with a male and female dog and is drama free with them. She shares toys, food, bones, beds – and anything else. She is affectionate toward them and is able to keep them both calm. She has been fostered with a dog-savvy 4-year-old for a few days with success.  Talia is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. Commands she knows include sit, lie down and heel. She is quiet in the home and rarely barks. She likes being outside – but also loves being an indoor dog.  She has a high prey-drive for things like squirrels and rabbits. She takes about a day to warm up to a new family, but after that she is good to go. She can easily hop a 6-foot fence, so care should be taken to keep an eye on her when bringing her home initially. She generally is not seeking to run, but has hopped out after squirrels, and when she got to her new temporary foster home. She has been to very crowded areas like coffee shops and Home Depot. She does okay, but gets a little nervous. She will generally lie down and stay quiet in that scenario. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.July 26, 2024, 1:04 pm

Animal Proflile: Miss Peaches was found wandering in freezing temps in Toppenish WA just after Christmas and a good samaratin took her in. The eastern WA shelters were full and had no space for her so this family took care of her until they could find placement with rescue; she's now in foster care with Dog Gone Seattle. She is crate trained and friendly meeting people and dogs. She has lived with other dogs and done well even with grumpy older dogs. She is friendly to other dogs on and off leash. She adored the 14 year old in her finder's home but has not been around younger children. She has not been evaluated with cats. She is still a puppy and likes to chew but prefers dog toys. She likes to snuggle and likes belly rubs.  Foster Updates:  This girl is precocious, fun loving and energetic. She's been a wonderful house-guest. She is crate and potty trained and would love a family to call her own! Story
Animal Proflie: Orca is an estimated 1.5 year old 40 lb female lab mix who was found wandering in freezing temps in Moses Lake WA. Orca is friendly meeting people. She is a little awkward and unsure but not reactive or aggressive meeting new dogs, and would likely benefit from having a friendly resident dog in the home. She has lived with two other dogs and is left in the house loose with the other dogs with no issue when the humans are not home; she is now house-trained and crate trained. She has been exposed to dogs and kids and done well with all. She has not been tested with cats. She is a bit unsure in new environments and will need a patient home that can help guide her and continue her training.  Foster Update: Orca is a super sweet girl. She loves to give kisses and get attention from her people. She’s good with basic commands that include sit, stay, come, go to bed, and in the crate (which was new to her). She’s not destructive and I’m sure would be fine alone outside of the crate.  In the beginning she was very timid and scared on walks. She seems much more comfortable now with the city sights and sounds, although she still shies away from buses and trucks or other big and loud vehicles. She’s generally friendly with other people, although she's usually shy about saying hello. She’s curious but unsure about other dogs and she’s also usually fine to just walk on by. She'd likely do well living with other dogs as she has previously. Her leash walking is a work in progress and she'll need continued training on that. Her young dog energy is starting to appear now and she’s much more energetic on walks. She has done well hiking and would probably be a good running buddy! She likes to do zoomies outside in the yard and jumps up when excited and wants to play, so that's something we’re working on.  Adoption Info: Orca's adoption fee is $550, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Orca was found as a stray in Moses Lake in January 2024; she was microchipped and had been adopted thru Grant County Animal Outreach but apparently the adopters had dumped her in freezing temps. The finders kept her until she could be transferred to rescue. DGS accepted her in May 2024 and she will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. July 26, 2024, 1:04 pm

Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

These pups are in Brier, Washington too!

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Cody is a 5 - 6 year old Boxer mix who is looking for a loving, active and structured forever home! He is sweet but had a rough beginning so will need a rescue experienced home that will help him build trust, learn basic obedience and gain confidence. He will bond to his people and loves attention and affection. He loves treats and is glad to work for them! He has not had a lot of training so will need support with continued basic obedience. He is looking for a home that is adult only or with kids over the age of 16. He will thrive in a home where he can be active, he loves to run around, go for walks, and would make an excellent outdoor activity partner. Cody can do well with other dogs but it is always best to do proper introductions to make sure it is a good match and that all parties 'mesh'. Meet Sugar! True to her name, Sugar is a sweet, 1 year old, 55 lb. Boxer mix who loves people and is looking for her forever home! Sugar has a lot of spunky energy and would do great with a family that can take her on walks and adventures and commit to her obedience training. Sugar can be very excitable around other dogs and has a lot of playful energy which may be off putting to some dogs but has been playful with the dogs in our care. She has not been tested with kids or cats, but we are recommending no small children as she is bouncy and could easily knock them over. Sugar is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.
