Story
Meet Jack! Jack is a 1-year-old Pit mix who is playful, affectionate, and full of personality. He is best friends with fellow SGA dog Xarpo, and with proper introductions, he enjoys playing with other dogs too. He is still polishing his social skills (he can be a little too enthusiastic with the licking), but he is actively working on that and responds well to guidance. This young guy loves engagement and connection, especially when treats are involved. Jack is food motivated, adores training, and truly enjoys learning because it gives him a job and your attention. He is house trained, crate trained, and very respectful with his belongings. He happily shares toys and space with others. While Jack enjoys affection and playtime, he also has a sweet independent side and can entertain himself when needed. New people and dogs can make him a bit hesitant at first. He is a 'brave on the outside, chicken on the inside' kind of guy. With patience and positive reinforcement, his confidence continues to grow. Jack is energetic and would love an active home where he can go on hikes, adventures, and burn off some of that young-dog energy. He plays loudly and can be a little vocal when he is having fun - he just gets really into the moment. Despite being ten times their size, he is actually afraid of cats, which only adds to his charm. Jack would do best in a home with adults or older children (over 12) who can appreciate his enthusiasm and help guide him as he grows.  He is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $350 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Meet Lincoln! Sweet Lincoln was saved at the 11th hour from an overcrowded animal shelter. He spent most of his puppy life in that shelter and when he came to us he had to learn all about being a much loved pet in a home.  Lincoln is a very gentle soul. He loves other dogs and is kind to everyone. His biggest challenge is that he is a scaredy-cat. Lincoln is nervous meeting new people and sadly that is why he has not been adopted yet. His big sweet face is a window into his soft heart and if you only took the time to get to know him and to earn his trust, you would have a friend for life.  Lincoln is good with cats, and even the guinea pigs in his foster home. He is just a good boy with a bit of an anxiety issue. He did not grow up in a normal home, but in a noisy shelter without proper socialization or normal contact with people. He is learning to trust and loves his foster mom. He walks on a leash, though this needs a little work because he can get a little spooked when he is too far away from home.  Lincoln is crate trained and potty trained. He will let you know when he needs to go. He loves his dog friends and his foster buddy Austin is his own emotional support dog. Having another dog in the home helps him a lot and they love to play together. All Lincoln wants is someone to love and for someone to love him. He just needs some patience and a confident person who is willing to help him learn and blossom. He is more than worth it.  Lincoln is vaccinated, chipped and neutered. His adoption fee is fully sponsored by one of our many Lincoln supporters.  We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! Story
From Lulu`s foster parent -Lulu is such a sweet heart! She has been an easy add to our home. She is a happy girl with good energy and doesn`t mind entertaining herself when there`s toys around. She loves to walk and is good on a leash. If you can get to a safe off-leash area, she loves to run! She`ll just let you watch her run back and forth while she gets out her zoomies. When she`s not playing with toys, she`s a total cuddle bug and enjoys being close. Her recall is awesome, she knows how to sit and is a well-behaved girl. Bonus fun fact: Lulu is bi-lingual in English and Spanish! She sleeps quietly throughout the night without the use of a crate. She is also potty trained and dog friendly! She’s a catch! The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Story
Jalen is a sweet, silly, and lovable goof who`s ready to steal your heart - and probably your spot on the couch. This handsome guy lives for soft beds, cozy blankets, and lounging near his people. He`s affectionate, cuddly, and always happy to soak up attention. Jalen has a wonderfully balanced, mostly mellow energy with a playful side. He loves squeaky balls, stuffies, and has proudly taken on the role of household recycling assistant by enthusiastically shredding cardboard boxes. He`s a curious, endearing pittie who enjoys checking out every corner of his space. He’s ok being left alone for a bit and is working on crate training now. He also knows sit, come, stay – what a smart boy!Treats are the way to his heart - he`ll happily do just about anything for them, including taking his meds like a champ (string cheese is his favorite!). He`s very communicative, with minimal barking, and will politely let you know when it`s time to go outside. He’s an awesome leash walker who rarely pulls, staying by your side and checking in frequently (for treats!). Jalen likes both shorter, more frequent walks as well as a few brisk ones too. (He loves greeting new people along the way.) He’s definitely up for an adventure especially if it involves the car. Although he’s mainly a chill guy, running around chasing balls a little is fun as well! With his gentle nature, goofy personality, and endless affection, Jalen is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. If you`re looking for a loving companion who brings both laughs and snuggles, Jalen might just be your perfect match! The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets!
