Story
NAME: RON JOHNER LITTER: He is part of our "Alien" litter AGE/GENDER: Baby (born 10/31/2022), Male BREED: Pit Bull Terrier/Lab mix (MANY PUPPIES IN RESCUE DO NOT HAVE PARENTS SO THEIR BREED IS UNKNOWN) TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous ESTIMATED ADULT WEIGHT: 40-50 lbs    HOUSE TRAINING: Not yet! He is a baby so he'll need a consistent schedule with multiple opportunities daily to go outside while he works on it. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers! CRATE TRAINING: Good, he's young and trainable! OTHER DOGS: Good! He will need continued socialization, like all puppies! CATS: Unknown. Continued socialization will be important! CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00 HEALTH: RON is healthy! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find him a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: RON is a puppy so he's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! He is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. His forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that he grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. He will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo CrewDecember 5, 2023, 11:10 pm

NAME: Emmett Richmond LITTER: He is last pup available of the "Legally Blonde" litter AGE/GENDER: Born 11/17/2022, Male BREED: Pit Bull and hound? mix (MOST PUPPIES WE GET DO NOT HAVE PARENTS SO THE MIX IS UNKNOWN) TEMPERAMENT: Affectionate, easygoing, a people kind of dog HOUSE TRAINING: Yes. He knows when to go out. Unfortunately, he doesn't ask to go out, so you have to be mindful of the time and direct him outside. CRATE TRAINING: Good. He eats and sleeps in his crate.  OTHER DOGS: Good. However, he can be exuberant or pushy, so needs appropriate meetings. No dog parks. He currently lives with other dogs of all ages and sizes. CATS: He ignores them, but all cat energy is different. The cats in his foster home are not shy or runners. They will put a dog in its place. A streaking cat in a new home may elicit a prey drive response.  CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 12 and older. Emmett is a big boy who doesn't know his own strength. He's playful and exuberant and may be too much for smaller children. ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00  HEALTH: Emmett is healthy! He is altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: Emmett and his siblings came to us from an overcrowded Texas shelter where they were at risk of being euthanized.  NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Emmett is a big boy and a wonderful companion. He can be a lazy boy and likes to lounge around with you but it's very important to get him out and about as he can get overweight without exercise. That's just how he's built! LOL He is not going to be your marathon runner but he will need multiple walks for training and socialization and exercise! He does need someone with power breed experience as he is a bigger boy at around 60-70ish lbs. He is fostered with other dogs and does well with all ages, sizes, and sexes, but he will need slow introductions with new dogs as he can be a little uncertain and a little pushy with newcomers. He still lacks some confidence due to his age, but that will get better with more training and socialization. He's still young so learning his manners. He does tend to prefer people, however, so spending time with you can be more rewarding than going to a dog park. He loves to snuggle and  play and thrives on affection. Training and socialization classes are highly recommended for their personal development. He will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs. He is leash trained and he does have basic obedience training as well!   We always recommend our dogs be trained in the goal of mastering the Canine Good Citizen certification 10 skills.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a rock and roll themed, volunteer-powered, foster-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization based in Redmond, WA. WE ARE FOSTER BASED- which means: There is nowhere for you to go to see animals today. Animals are VIEWED BY APPT ONLY. No casual meetings, unless at one of our events. Animals receive one-on-one, 24/7 care in a private, volunteer foster home, which is individualized for their needs  Through their foster placement, we get to know the animals well, which translates to accurate and customized matching service for you! As a private, volunteer home is involved we cannot accommodate same-day adoption meetings or surrenders.  Approved applicants can meet and adopt at an event, but otherwise, an application is still required and must be approved before an animal can go home. TO ADOPT, PLEASE: Email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application. The auto-responder (triggered when you email), also has a link. Applications are reviewed by volunteers and take at least 3-5 business days to complete once submitted. Please allow additional time if the application is not completed in its entirety and or there are further questions or clarifications needed to approve you. Missing information will delay your application and may cause you to miss out on the animal you seek. If so, we will work to match you with the next animal that suits your needs. Applicants are always told whether you are approved or not. Please do not jump to conclusions and make assumptions. Inquire if you feel you have not heard from us in a timely manner. Our goal is to find the right match for the animal in question, first- and therefore, to satisfy you by doing that, next. These decisions about compatibility are NOT personal- they are based 100% on the animal's needs.  If an animal is deemed "not a good fit", this is not a rejection. Rather, you simply may not be a match for that animal- but when appropriate, we will suggest a different one that suits your needs and desires better.  The animals are placed based on "best match" in the "timeliest manner"- not necessarily first come, first served. If two applications are equally appropriate, the one that came in first will be considered first. If an animal is online, it is available- however, this can change from the time you inquire for an application and submit it. There are many reasons animals may be removed from our listings, including: the animal has been matched with another applicant ahead of you in the process; the animal has been matched with you and you have not received the notice yet; the animal has become sick or has a new issue that needs to be assessed; an applicant changed their mind, etc. There are many more resources for you on our website to help prepare you for adoption. Please visit our website www.motleyzoo.org for information about fostering, volunteering, fostering-to-adopt and more. Thanks for considering adoption, which saves the lives of animals in need. We look forward to helping you find your best match in a furry friend. Rock on- The Motley Zoo Crew December 5, 2023, 11:10 pm

NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: CARTER came to us as a very nervous puppy. He is doing well with his socialization. He can be leery of srangers initially but has excelled in his training with other people in classes. Because of this he would need to be in an adult-only home, as children can be unpredictable and he needs stability and consistency.   He's a very loving boy who enjoys the company of other dogs. He is dog social and people social if people take the patience to earn his trust, which he learns quickly with treats and the bonding of training. He's the perfect little snuggle buddy. He doesn't require a lot of exercise but he is no couch potato either. He loves to train and be with his people. He's affectionate and silly. Small and athletic. We call him a little tank because he's quite muscular yet slim. He has an athletic build and would be a great jogging buddy.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. Story
Maggy is the most loving, kind, and nurturing four legged family member you could ever ask for. She is an indoor dog 100% and very low maintenance. An unfortunate turn of events has sadly required us to find a new home for her. I will include two doggy beds and food/water bowls. Breaks my heart to let her go but some insitutions just don't understand that there are no bad breeds of dogs, only bad owners. And Maggy has had a truly loving environment which she shows to everyone she meets. If you are looking for a gaurd dog then she is not for you because she hardly ever barks and is more likely to greet a stranger with a wagging tail than anything else.

Camilla is a cross breed of an American Staffordshire Terrier and a Labrador Retriever.  She is small in size and has beautiful markings.  Camilla does pretty well as she loves going for walks with anyone and has worked well on her leash manners.     She can be a little excited at first but really anticipates her daily walks or time in the yard.  She is a sweetheart when all is said and done.  You can find Camilla lounging in her house most days, or laying in the warm rays of the sun.  She also very much loves to run around and be sprayed off with the water hose which will most likely make her a great dog to join with you at the river or lake.     Camilla is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.  She can also be transported to anywhere in the United States and Canada.   ##1501879##
