Story
I'm a spunky, sweet girl who loves long walks, fast runs, and all the cuddles. Whether you need a running buddy or a couch companion, I'm your girl! I enjoy chasing balls, hiking, learning tricks, tug of war, fluffy toys, and even swimming - but cuddles are my absolute favorite! If you're relaxing, I'll be right there with my head in your lap to soak up the love! I do best with company and struggle with being alone, so I'm looking for a home where someone is around most of the time. I prefer calm, familiar dogs and slow introduction, and I'm taking a break from daycares and dog parks. Guests are fine - just let me say hello first. Because of my energy, a home without young kids is best. If you want a sweet, smart, athletic pup who will adore you, I'm ready to meet you!

Story
Animal Information: Rookie is an estimated 1.5-year-old, male, and a Pittie mix currently weighing approximately 49lbs.  Foster Profile:  Meet Rookie. This sweet boy is ready to be your bestie if you are ready to give him snuggles and help him continue to grow into his best self and gain confidence out in the world.    Rookie takes a bit to settle into his crate, but he’s getting  more comfortable with practice and reassurance and he eats all of his meals happily in the crate.    He can be a little anxious and shy at first but overall he’s friendly and playful.   Rookie LOVES playing fetch or tugging and running around with his favorite toys. He’s super playful, bouncy and fun when he trots and zooms with a toy. He absolutely loves to snuggle. He is still settling in but he has started to crawl up on his foster mom’s lap. She describes him as super cozy and cute.    He’s very nose to the ground on walks on the leash and can pull a bit but he’s pretty responsive when his name is called or when his foster gets him back on track. He is working hard on learning and focusing on some engagement games to encourage focus on leashed walks.    He’s pretty good with sit and gives up his ball or toy when I say “out”and they are working on “down” and “in” (to the crate). He is an attentive learning and will do well with more coaching and structure.    He’s really comfortable and playful around other dogs and loves going out on adventures. He loves laying on a blanket near the kitchen to watch his foster mom cook dinner and seems very content being around his people in general.    Once Rookie has the opportunity to sniff you/check you out he will eventually go in for a lean on your leg or a shoulder if you are sitting down with him.   Rookie may have a bit to learn still - but he is highly motivated by food and love from his people. Reach out if you are interested in learning more about this sweet boy!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166). Story
Animal Information: Hazel is a 1-year-old terrier mix weighing 44 pounds with a soft heart and a resilient spirit. She was originally adopted as a puppy from  Stanislaus Animal Services Agency , later given away, and eventually surrendered by the family who took her in. By the time she arrived back at the shelter, Hazel was overwhelmed and shut down, unsure of what to expect next. With patience and consistency, her true personality began to shine. Hazel has become a staff favorite, known for her gentle nature and steady temperament. She has a natural ability to put other dogs at ease and now serves as the shelter’s go-to dog tester. Hazel does well with dogs of all ages and sizes, reading social cues appropriately and adjusting her play style to match her companion. After more than six weeks in the shelter, Hazel was at risk simply due to her length of stay. Thanks to glowing staff notes and some heart-melting videos, she earned her freedom ride to the Pacific Northwest for a fresh start. We can't wait to meet her! Foster Profile: All we can do is gush about this goofy girl. Hazel is doing exceptionally well in foster care. She adores her foster brofur and sister, and has been an excellent house guest. Hazel attended her first meet and greet and was friendly with anyone who wanted to say hi. She is looking for a home with at least one other canine companion, ideally with a fenced yard outside of the city. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Stanislaus Shelter in Modesto. She will be transferred via START, arriving to foster care on 03/11/26 and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.May 20, 2026, 11:24 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Skillet is a 2.5-year-old bully breed mix powered by equal parts love, zoomies, and questionable spatial awareness. She adores people, lives for playtime, and approaches every day like it’s the best party she’s ever attended. Her “FULL SEND” approach to fun can be a little overwhelming for more introverted dogs. Her playstyle resembles "monster truck rally" so she's not well-matched for dogs who prefer a "casual brunch" vibe.  Skillet comes with some excellent starter-pack features: she’s house-trained, crate-trained, and has solid foundational obedience. She knows all her basic commands and loves to play. She recently had TPLO surgery and has recovered like a champ. While Skillet would happily invite every dog she meets to an all-inclusive wrestling tournament, she has the body awareness of a shopping cart with one bad wheel. Her play style is enthusiastic, physical, and not exactly subtle. She squeals in happiness when she plays with her pet rock, her favorite game is tug, and her zoomies are epic. For that reason, Skillet would thrive with a bully-breed-savvy family who appreciates her goofy charm — either as the only dog or with a confident, well-matched canine buddy who enjoys her brand of rough and tumble play. She hasn’t lived with children before, but because Skillet greets life at approximately 110 mph, a home with older kids would be the best fit. Skillet views cats as play toys and is not compatible in a home with small fluffy prey. Skillet will reward her people with endless laughs, unwavering loyalty, and enough personality to fill the entire house (and probably the yard too). Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from the the high kill LA Downey animal shelter arrived to Seattle area foster care 11/24/24. She was adopted and is currently residing with her adopters until the end of June 2026 when she needs to transition back to DGS foster care. She is currently available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. May 20, 2026, 11:24 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Lloyd is absolutely best friend material! He bonds strongly with his people and will become your shadow in no time. When he's not snuggling at your feet, getting belly rubs, or napping, Lloyd enjoys playing, running around the yard, going for walks, and learning new tricks. Lloyd can be reactive when meeting new dogs and may be happiest as the only dog in his new home. We don't know if he's ever lived with cats, but he does have a strong prey drive, so caution should be used when introducing. Lloyd will likely do best with older kids who can handle him gently. Lloyd likes a calmer environment and can be nervous around strangers, so he may not be a fit for an apartment or condo and would likely be happiest in a quiet neighborhood. If you're ready to welcome home this precious pup, send in an adoption application today! *Lloyd is in a foster home and not located in the shelter.
