Story
Hi!  My name is Leo!  I am about 5 years old, and I am ball obsessed!  Ball is life!  I was living on the streets when a rescue took me in, a great guy adopted me, but he had some health issues, so I am back at a foster home looking for my forever home. Like I said I LOVE BALLS, anything round is my jam and will play with them (and you) for hours.  I have not always gotten along with other dogs, but I am working on that with a trainer and am learning that other dogs don't always want to hurt me.  I walk very well on a leash and am getting 'heel' down.  I also love the art of the snuggle.  I have to say I have mastered it and would gladly educate a new owner. I am hoping to land in the Portland area, as the trainer has offered 3 FREE lessons with me and my new owner, so they learn all the cool stuff I have been working on!! If you feel I may be a fit for your home or just would like to meet me to see, hit up my foster mom, Lelsie Butkovich 503-989-0464April 17, 2024, 11:50 pm

Story
If you love playing and think life is all about having fun, then Hank may be your perfect match! This enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky 6-year-old Pit Bull is ready to join your family. Whether it's chasing balls, tearing up stuffies, or zooming around outside, Hank is thrilled to do it all. Hank is looking for a dog free home and a place that's nice and quiet for walks. We did hear that he enjoys chasing cats, so any resident cats should be dog savvy, and introductions should be done slowly. Hank is friendly with everyone he meets but can get overly excited and sometimes get jumpy, so any kids in the home should be older and comfortable around large, wiggly dogs. If you're ready to add a big dose of spunk - with a side of sweet - to your heart and home, send in an adoption application today!Hank's adoption fee is waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program!

Story
If you're a fan of high energy and silly pups, we've got a great one here for you! Wick is a handsome 1-year-old brindle pitbull mix with loads of personality and charm. He is very friendly and makes fast friends with everyone he meets. Plus, he's spunky, athletic, and smart. Wick is as special as they come! Wick has done well with the dogs he's met and is super playful. We strongly suggest he goes home with another active, playful dog to help burn off some of his energy and enrich his days! We don't know if he's ever met cats. Any introductions to resident pets should be done slowly. Wick is looking for a dog experienced home with just teens (16+) and adults. Wick is not a fit for an apartment or condo and would love a large, fenced back yard. If you're ready to amp up the energy and cuteness in your life, make an adoption appointment to meet Wick today! #playful #dogcompatible

Story
Harley's name might as well be happy, because that's what she is - always! This delightfully enthusiastic 8-year-old Pit mix is just oozing joy. She loves making friends with people, playing with toys, learning tricks, and going for walks. She might be considered a "senior," but she doesn't know that. She is still lively, active, and eager for an active family to bring her home! We don't know if Harley's ever lived with dogs before and she's been reactive to them while on leash, so we just don't know how she will do with other dogs. It is important that any resident dogs come to the shelter to meet Harley before adoption. Harley is looking for a home without cats or other small animals. She will likely do well with older kids who can handle her gently. If you're ready to open up your heart and home to this special lady, send in an adoption application today! Harley's adoption fee is waived in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program.**Harley is currently in a foster home and not located in the shelter. #playful #housetrained

Story
Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Kobe is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 75 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 17, 2024, 11:15 am

Story
Animal Profile: Talia is an estimated 2-year-old, 42 lb spayed female who joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and good with people. We'd like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard. These pups were listed as Great Pyrenees mixes, but DNA testing revealed they are Pit Bull, Husky, German Shepherd, Chow Chow and Malamute, with a few other breeds in the mix. True Texas Mutts -- one of our favorite breeds. Foster Update: Talia is a social butterfly in our home, moving between dogs and humans. She is playful, goofy, joyful, creative and smart. She loves to go for active, long walks and short runs – but also enjoys quiet time. She loves to sleep in between me and my husband on the bed and is very quiet while sleeping. She will rest her head on your lap – looking for a connection. She is athletic and bouncy – like Tigger. She is easy to train and is very flexible. She lives with a male and female dog and is drama free with them. She shares toys, food, bones, beds – and anything else. She is affectionate toward them and is able to keep them both calm. She has been fostered with a dog-savvy 4-year-old for a few days with success.  Talia is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. Commands she knows include sit, lie down and heel. She is quiet in the home and rarely barks. She likes being outside – but also loves being an indoor dog.  She has a high prey-drive for things like squirrels and rabbits. She takes about a day to warm up to a new family, but after that she is good to go. She can easily hop a 6-foot fence, so care should be taken to keep an eye on her when bringing her home initially. She generally is not seeking to run, but has hopped out after squirrels, and when she got to her new temporary foster home. She has been to very crowded areas like coffee shops and Home Depot. She does okay, but gets a little nervous. She will generally lie down and stay quiet in that scenario. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.April 18, 2024, 7:06 pm

Opal is great with kids, cats and other dogs. She can sit, lay down, stay and is getting so much better on a leash. She is hilarious when she gets the zoomies and when playing with her ball.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is an estimated 10-12 month old, 60 lb neutered male bully breed mix who was picked up as a stray and rescued from San Bernardino city shelter. At the shelter he was evaluated to be friendly with people and in playgroups with dogs of all sizes and genders. He has been in a temp foster home awaiting transport; they report Buddy is a total doll, good with kids and dogs of all sizes including obnoxious little dogs, good in the crate, and even-tempered. We look forward to getting to know him in foster care.  Foster Update Buddy is a wonderful dog. He’s incredibly sweet, affectionate and loves snuggling. He’s also super goofy and loves playing with toys and playing fetch; sometimes he plays fetch by himself by launching his toys with his mouth! After walks or playing, he’ll happily snooze for several hours. He is AMAZING with all dogs big and small, and is pretty submissive when playing. He is great at giving my older dog space when she is not in the mood to play. He’s crate trained though sometimes does bark when we are gone, but this is becoming less and less frequent. He can sometimes be timid around new people but warms up quickly (and this is also improving every day). His leash manners need a little improving when he is walked with another dog, but does well when one-on-one. He hasn’t been kid or cat tested.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Angels of Rawley in California, originally pulled from San Bernadino City Shelter and arriving to Seattle on Sunday 1/7/24. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 18, 2024, 7:06 pm

Story
NEW FOSTER NEEDED BEFORE THURSDAY 4/21 Animal Profile: Poe is an estimated 9-month-old, 33 lb male mixed breed (the shelter aged him at 5 months but he has all his adult teeth and we think he is closer to 9 months). He was a stray intake to the Caddo Parish shelter and despite his friendly temperament and ideal size, he was overlooked again and again. Poe is social and friendly with other dogs.  Foster Update: Poe is such a special boy. He is a happy-go-lucky pup full of playful and affectionate energy. He’s settled in quickly with his foster family and does well with the resident dog and cat. Poe sleeps soundly in his crate and will put himself in during the day for naps after tuckering out. He’s a bit of a goofball and smiles a lot. He’s super smart and with the right structure and committed leadership he is capable of learning so much. He already has a fair amount of basics down (sit, wait, come and kennel). Poe does great in the car and is pretty good on leash and happy to be wherever his people are. He’s a really great dog with so much love to give! Zara 8 yo female slow intro to other dogs, fearful fostered in Everett, WA Hi I’m Zara! I came to the PNW all the way from Southern California. I was a little timid when I first came into rescue, but I have received a lot of love and patience from my foster family that has helped me settle in and feel safe. I am very affectionate and am eager to please. I will do most anything such as going in my crate for a good treat. I don’t enjoy being home alone for long periods so if I can go with you, I love car rides, otherwise a family that is home most of the time would be best for me. I do well with other dogs that are my size, so a home with a buddy might be nice. I don’t enjoy small dogs or other small animals. If you would like to adopt her, fill out an adoption application on our website www.nwboxerrescue.org Like us on facebook for more photos of this pretty girl, as well as other boxers we have available!  www.facebook.com/northwestboxerrescue April 17, 2024, 11:50 pm

Story
To apply for a specific dog with Bulldog Haven NW rescue or submit a general application, please visit http://www.bulldoghavennw.org/10_apply.html Hello! My name is Bully. I was found as a stray and sprung from the shelter by BHNW. Everyone who has come into contact with me gets the giggles at how sweet, affectionate and goofy I am. My one floppy ear gives me great character. My underbite makes me endearing. And my constant wiggles to gain attention and then my sploot (or roll over) as I cannot help myself. SCRATCHES ARE EVERYTHING! I'm really smart and know some basic commands but would do well with a family who can spend some time with obedience training. I want love so much that I become a walking bowling ball very easily. I do seem to have some significant allergy issues. When I came into BHNW, I was a giant scab. Medicated baths have helped a ton but I am constantly itchy and need to figure out why. So far, I seem to be good with non-reactive dogs. But I did get into a scuffle over a highly prized toy that we both wanted. I think I would be good for a family with older children who are dog savvy. I haven't been at all bothered by the squirrels by the door or the birds that land near the window, so if you happen to have a cat that isn't bothered by dogs, I think I'd be ok with that too. If you are looking for a playful, sweet, Velcro dog, I am it! Make sure you get your application in!

Story
To apply for a specific dog with Bulldog Haven NW rescue or submit a general application, please visit http://www.bulldoghavennw.org/10_apply.html Cupcake is a two-year-old English bulldog that came to Bulldog Haven NW in early August. She has a very sweet and calm personality and loves people, both adults and children. She does like to be the queen of the castle and does not wish to share her home with any kings, princesses, or with any puss and boots for that matter. Cupcake knows commands like sit and come and does well on a leash but will pull if something perks her interest. She also loves squeaky toys and chasing the local squirrels, as well as just chilling on the couch with her humans. Cupcake has no evident medical issues but will undergo a wellness check and medical evaluation soon and will need to be spayed prior to being considered adoptable. In the meantime, we'll continue to get to know her personality and determine the kind of permanent home that will ensure Cupcakes enjoys a peaceful, happy, and well-loved life.
