Story
Animal Profile: Talia is an estimated 2-year-old, 42 lb spayed female who joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and good with people. We'd like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard. These pups were listed as Great Pyrenees mixes, but DNA testing revealed they are Pit Bull, Husky, German Shepherd, Chow Chow and Malamute, with a few other breeds in the mix. True Texas Mutts -- one of our favorite breeds. Foster Update: Talia is a social butterfly in our home, moving between dogs and humans. She is playful, goofy, joyful, creative and smart. She loves to go for active, long walks and short runs – but also enjoys quiet time. She loves to sleep in between me and my husband on the bed and is very quiet while sleeping. She will rest her head on your lap – looking for a connection. She is athletic and bouncy – like Tigger. She is easy to train and is very flexible. She lives with a male and female dog and is drama free with them. She shares toys, food, bones, beds – and anything else. She is affectionate toward them and is able to keep them both calm. She has been fostered with a dog-savvy 4-year-old for a few days with success.  Talia is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. Commands she knows include sit, lie down and heel. She is quiet in the home and rarely barks. She likes being outside – but also loves being an indoor dog.  She has a high prey-drive for things like squirrels and rabbits. She takes about a day to warm up to a new family, but after that she is good to go. She can easily hop a 6-foot fence, so care should be taken to keep an eye on her when bringing her home initially. She generally is not seeking to run, but has hopped out after squirrels, and when she got to her new temporary foster home. She has been to very crowded areas like coffee shops and Home Depot. She does okay, but gets a little nervous. She will generally lie down and stay quiet in that scenario. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.April 26, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is an estimated 10-12 month old, 60 lb neutered male bully breed mix who was picked up as a stray and rescued from San Bernardino city shelter. At the shelter he was evaluated to be friendly with people and in playgroups with dogs of all sizes and genders. He has been in a temp foster home awaiting transport; they report Buddy is a total doll, good with dogs of all sizes including obnoxious little dogs, good in the crate, and even-tempered. We look forward to getting to know him in foster care.  Foster Update Buddy is a wonderful dog. He’s incredibly sweet, affectionate and loves snuggling. He’s also super goofy and loves playing with toys and playing fetch; sometimes he plays fetch by himself by launching his toys with his mouth! After walks or playing, he’ll happily snooze for several hours. He is AMAZING with all dogs big and small, and is pretty submissive when playing. He is great at giving my older dog space when she is not in the mood to play. He’s crate trained though sometimes does bark when we are gone, but this is becoming less and less frequent. He can sometimes be timid around new people but warms up quickly (and this is also improving every day). His leash manners need a little improving when he is walked with another dog, but does well when one-on-one. He hasn’t been kid or cat tested.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Angels of Rawley in California, originally pulled from San Bernadino City Shelter and arriving to Seattle on Sunday 1/7/24. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.April 26, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Poe is an estimated 9-month-old, 33 lb male mixed breed (the shelter aged him at 5 months but he has all his adult teeth and we think he is closer to 9 months). He was a stray intake to the Caddo Parish shelter and despite his friendly temperament and ideal size, he was overlooked again and again. Poe is social and friendly with other dogs.  Foster Update: Poe is such a special boy. He is a happy-go-lucky pup full of playful and affectionate energy. He’s settled in quickly with his foster family and does well with the resident dog and cat. Poe sleeps soundly in his crate and will put himself in during the day for naps after tuckering out. He’s a bit of a goofball and smiles a lot. He’s super smart and with the right structure and committed leadership he is capable of learning so much. He already has a fair amount of basics down (sit, wait, come and kennel). Poe does great in the car and is pretty good on leash and happy to be wherever his people are. He’s a really great dog with so much love to give! 4/22/24 Update: Poe is currently living in a home with multiple dogs and young kids; he happily goes on adventures with volunteers such as hiking or trip to local breweries. Poe will alert when new people come to the home but is social and friendly meeting people. Poe needs a person who will create boundaries in the beginning or else he will test treating humans like his dog playmates with jumping and mouthing. Once he knows the rules he's quite happy to comply. He loves to run and wrestle with other dogs but reads social cues from dogs who do not want to play with him. We'd like to see him in a home with a resident energetic and tolerant canine companion. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from Caddo Parish animal shelter in Shreveport Louisiana and arrived in Seattle via Tail Lights Rescue Project on March 4, 2024. April 26, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Diesel is 2-year-old 54 lb lanky bully breed mix who originally came from Caddo Parish Louisiana -- adopted as a puppy and returned two years later due to divorce. Diesel has gone to doggy daycare at Bonafide Dog Ranch and does well off leash with other dogs. He is not leash reactive but has not lived with another dog recently -- dog introduction included for potential adopters. We don't recommend cats. Diesel has lived with young kids and loved them. He is crate trained, house trained and knows basic obedience. True to his guardian breed he can be protective of the house particularly if he thinks that's his job. He would do best with a large dog savvy owner comfortable being a good leader for a large powerful breed.  Diesel loves to cuddle and play with toys, and has a goofy personality. He would like to have his own yard for running and playing. He warms up quickly to new people and -- like all dogs -- thrives with boundaries and leadership.  Foster Update:   What a dreamboat- good with kids, good with dogs, doesn't chew non-toy things around the house, hangs out in his crate with the door open... the list goes on. He walks well on the leash, though sometimes struggles with impulsivity when there is a crow, a cat, or a squirrel within reach. He's friendly to everyone, but he'll bark at strangers in the house if he's crated and can't say hello. In the short time he's been here, we've gone on a picnic in a park and to a busy brewery. Everyone he's met so far has been impressed . He's an athletic pup with soft fur and legs for days. He enjoys jumping on things- people, counters, and once I found him perched on a little table in the backyard! We're working on that. He'll play ball forever if you let him, though ignoring him results in a destroyed tennis ball that he will still bring to you to throw. He responds well to corrections, and is relatively food-motivated. He can be pretty vocal (e.g. barks when he's happy, or wants to get out of the crate, or when people walk by the backyard), and can get the mad zoomies, so probably would do best in a house with a securely-fenced yard. He’s got the sad puppy eyes down pat, but don’t let them fool you! He’s a happy guy with lots of love, and licks, to give! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Diesel fka Almond joined us in March 2022 from Caddo Parish shelter in Shreveport LA, was fostered as a 9-week-old puppy and adopted to a family who owned him for two plus years before returning him to the rescue due to divorce. He lived briefly with two young boys in his home. He is currently being fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption after decompression and evaluation.  April 26, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
I love Huey so much, but I have come to accept that my health condition is not letting Huey live his best life. He needs a better outlet to let out his energy, run, sniff, and play tug/games. Huey needs an experienced dog owner that can help him with leash reactivity. Huey lives with a cat just fine, and a 10year old kid, but is leash reactive towards animals and some people when on walks. He is making progress with obedience training. Huey is friendly with guests that come into our house. Huey is 65lbs, but thinks he’s a 10lb lap dog. Huey is good with a few commands like sit, lay down, place, paw, leave it, wait, and I’ve taught him to scratch his nails on a sandpaper board. We are still working on his recall, drop it, and heel. Huey is NOT a counter surfer, but loves to sit next to me while I cut veggies.

Story
I adopted Phoenix from Three Little Pitties in Texas 2 years ago. He is 5 years old and absolutely loves to play fetch the ball. He needs training on a leash has a tendency to pull. Loud noises or sudden movements, large objects or yelling make him scared / skittish. Very sweet dog who loves attention. Will smell everything and anything. Very curious. He sleeps in a kennel at night. He will begin to whine if he needs to go out to use the bathroom. If placed in an outside kennel He will start to dig holes out of boredom. Loves to occupy his time with chew toys. Will get into garbage cans if left alone. No problem riding in the back of my truck with a canopy when I take him to the vets or groomer. Does well with vets and groomers. I have worked with him for a couple of years and he listens to all my commands. He doesn't listen to my wife as well as he listens to me only because she doesn't work / train with him. Plays well with dogs. Not sure if he can live w/them.

Story
Daisy was rescued from being chained to a car fender with no food or water. The residents had moved and left her—according to a neighbor. The chain was 10’ and her only shelter was under the car. She was laying in her own feces. Someone I know took her from there, I got her healthy, spayed, rabies vaccine, vet checked etc. Daisy is pit bull mix, she looks like an Amstaff to me. She is super sweet, affectionate, eager to please and wants to be around her people. She enjoys playing with our young cat and leaves the older one alone.. She loves snuggling on the couch or a soft blanket on the floor. Did not test kennel training but I suspect she is fine with it. At first she never barked until she heard another dog bark and now she’s alerting. She walks okay on a leash, I did not test her walking skills past the front yard perimeter, but she is NOT a runner. Very sweet disposition. I’d like to keep her but my GSD says NO, so it’s not fair to her when I can’t show affection in return..

Story
Little pocket pittie Winny is searching for her furever home ❤️ she’s a total couch potato and lives to be your little spoon - she has some past traumas (don’t we all?) and is working on building her confidence in new situations - however due to her reactivity and strength despite her small size, she is looking to be an only child(pet). At home she listens well, rarely gets into anything, and is eager to train. She would be the perfect companion for someone who works from or just spends a lot of time at home and is looking for some super sweet company and affection.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Little Mama is a sweet and lovable pittie mix. She is ~3 years old and weighs around 45 lbs. Little Mama would love to find her forever family so she can have endless pets and romps around her very own yard! Little Mama bonds to her people and will love her forever family very deeply. She would love a family that has a home and yard to explore and play in. She enjoys walks, cuddling on the couch, and treats! She is extremely sweet and her favorite things are walks with her person, pets and cuddles. Little Mama prefers to be the only pet in the home so no other dogs or cats. She can walk fine around other dogs (walks or hikes) just as long as they are not in her personal space/within touching distance. She is UTD on her shots, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $250.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Ralphie! He is a 4.5-year-old, 50lb, Pit Bull/Border Collie mix. This boy is just a hunk of love and look at that adorable smile!. He is sweet, fun loving and a playful boy! He would love his forever home to be an active family who would take him for walks and on adventures. Ralphie will thrive in a home that can continue basic obedience with him. Ralphie can do well with other dogs, and we will want to meet the other dogs in his forever home to make sure it’s a great fit! We do not think he would do well with a dominant male, but neutral dogs 35lbs and up ok! Ralphie can be a bit of an escape artist so he will need a free-standing home with a securely fenced yard in suburban or rural neighborhood. Ralphie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
Animal Profile: Charlotte is an estimated 4-year-old, 48 lb spayed female bull terrier/shepherd mix who lived most her life on a chain having litter after litter until her family up and moved and left her. She was taken in by our rescue partner in Oklahoma, where she became an inside dog -- she quickly learned house training and crate training, and was described as "absolutely fabulous." She joined Dog Gone Seattle in August 2023.  Seattle Foster Update: Charlotte, or Charlie as she is affectionately called, has learned so much in just a few short months. From the chain to a cherished family member, Charlie is affectionate, loyal, smart, and loving. With professional trainer guidance, she has mastered basic commands including sit, down, place, and come, and is working on loose leash walking. She now walks well on a leash in a quiet neighborhood but does demonstrate prey drive, especially for little critters such as squirrels and bunnies outside, so requires a confident handler. She is cat-neutral, and has lived in both foster homes with multiple cats; she would do fine in a home even with a nervous cat. She is not reactive to other dogs outside the home but does show some resource guarding toward other dogs (not people) for her crate/bed and at times her people inside the home, so may be easier as an only dog. She’s happy to chill during the day and loves to snuggle with her people. She loves having a large fenced yard where she can run and play as she lives for fetch. She will need a savvy adopter familiar with the level of leadership as well as the mental and physical stimulation required by her breed, and who is committed to continuing her training. Private training support will be included with adoption.  Adopter Profile: Adult only home Large breed experience required Herding breed experience preferred Secure fenced yard required Balanced dogs considered Cats OK Commitment to ongoing training Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Take home training session will be included with adoption. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 14-month-old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable underbite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  April 26, 2024, 4:19 pm

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Heidi - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Heidi, full of youthful exuberance for life, innocence and curiosity. Ready to crawl right into your heart (won't take long either!!) and be a part of a family...YOUR family! I am still a youngster yet, a big puppy at heart! I have lots of energy and am quite agile. I could be a great candidate for obedience classes and maybe even some fun ones like agility classes. I'm a smart cookie (i know cuz my foster mom tell me so!) and catch on quickly. At 11 months and around 45lbs, I shouldn't get much bigger at my adult weight. What a perfect size for...everything! Neighborhood strolls, nature hikes(aaaah, all those wonderful tantalizing smells), camping, being a co-pilot for errand runs or trips to the park! You name it, I'm ready to give it a whirl and have a blast too (with whatever it is) just cuz we're doing it together!! And the bestest part is that I'm also small enough that I don't hog the whole couch for my cherished cuddle time!! My foster mom wanted you to know this about me - -she is housebroken -she wants to be a lap dog; -she would fit well with an adult home with older children; -with her high prey drive she should be in a home without small dogs or cats but will do well with her size or larger size breed of dogs; -she is a fast learner and will shine with an owner that will include her in their everyday life adventures; -she is crate trained; -she follows basic commands and walks well on leash; -she thrives on daily walks; -she’s a family dog and will make a fabulous family member; -she loves walks, hikes, exploring, tug of war and games using her nose and sparking her intelligence; -she’s quite agile and shows ability in figuring out how to jump over or crawl under set obstacles. She is happy, fun loving and eager to bring joy to her forever home! As my short sleek coat is low maintenance in the grooming department, making me more of a wash-n-to type of gal. And you do know what that means don't you?!! Oh yep yep, lots of extra time in the 'spoil me rotten' department. And you know that's what it's all about!! ;) Big on personality, smart and inquisitive, affectionate and sweet, my oh my I have a boatload of great traits going on, oh and don't forget my stunning good looks, to make me a great family addition, I just need the family...could it be YOUR family?
