Story
Animal Profile: Talia is an estimated 2-year-old, 42 lb spayed female who joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and good with people. We'd like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard. These pups were listed as Great Pyrenees mixes, but DNA testing revealed they are Pit Bull, Husky, German Shepherd, Chow Chow and Malamute, with a few other breeds in the mix. True Texas Mutts -- one of our favorite breeds. Foster Update: Talia is a social butterfly in our home, moving between dogs and humans. She is playful, goofy, joyful, creative and smart. She loves to go for active, long walks and short runs – but also enjoys quiet time. She loves to sleep in between me and my husband on the bed and is very quiet while sleeping. She will rest her head on your lap – looking for a connection. She is athletic and bouncy – like Tigger. She is easy to train and is very flexible. She lives with a male and female dog and is drama free with them. She shares toys, food, bones, beds – and anything else. She is affectionate toward them and is able to keep them both calm. She has been fostered with a dog-savvy 4-year-old for a few days with success.  Talia is leash trained, crate trained, and potty trained. Commands she knows include sit, lie down and heel. She is quiet in the home and rarely barks. She likes being outside – but also loves being an indoor dog.  She has a high prey-drive for things like squirrels and rabbits. She takes about a day to warm up to a new family, but after that she is good to go. She can easily hop a 6-foot fence, so care should be taken to keep an eye on her when bringing her home initially. She generally is not seeking to run, but has hopped out after squirrels, and when she got to her new temporary foster home. She has been to very crowded areas like coffee shops and Home Depot. She does okay, but gets a little nervous. She will generally lie down and stay quiet in that scenario. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.July 15, 2024, 8:39 pm

Animal Proflile: Miss Peaches was found wandering in freezing temps in Toppenish WA just after Christmas and a good samaratin took her in. The eastern WA shelters were full and had no space for her so this family took care of her until they could find placement with rescue; she's now in foster care with Dog Gone Seattle. She is crate trained and friendly meeting people and dogs. She has lived with other dogs and done well even with grumpy older dogs. She is friendly to other dogs on and off leash. She adored the 14 year old in her finder's home but has not been around younger children. She has not been evaluated with cats. She is still a puppy and likes to chew but prefers dog toys. She likes to snuggle and likes belly rubs.  Foster Updates:  This girl is precocious, fun loving and energetic. She's been a wonderful house-guest. Story
Animal Proflie: Orca is an estimated 1.5 year old 40 lb female lab mix who was found wandering in freezing temps in Moses Lake WA. Orca is friendly meeting people. She is a little awkward and unsure but not reactive or aggressive meeting new dogs, and would likely benefit from having a friendly resident dog in the home. She has lived with two other dogs and is left in the house loose with the other dogs with no issue when the humans are not home; she is now house-trained and crate trained. She has been exposed to dogs and kids and done well with all. She has not been tested with cats. She is a bit unsure in new environments and will need a patient home that can help guide her and continue her training.  Foster Update: Orca is a super sweet girl. She loves to give kisses and get attention from her people. She’s good with basic commands that include sit, stay, come, go to bed, and in the crate (which was new to her). She’s not destructive and I’m sure would be fine alone outside of the crate.  In the beginning she was very timid and scared on walks. She seems much more comfortable now with the city sights and sounds, although she still shies away from buses and trucks or other big and loud vehicles. She’s generally friendly with other people, although she's usually shy about saying hello. She’s curious but unsure about other dogs and she’s also usually fine to just walk on by. She'd likely do well living with other dogs as she has previously. Her leash walking is a work in progress and she'll need continued training on that. Her young dog energy is starting to appear now and she’s much more energetic on walks. She has done well hiking and would probably be a good running buddy! She likes to do zoomies outside in the yard and jumps up when excited and wants to play, so that's something we’re working on.  Adoption Info: Orca's adoption fee is $550, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Orca was found as a stray in Moses Lake in January 2024; she was microchipped and had been adopted thru Grant County Animal Outreach but apparently the adopters had dumped her in freezing temps. The finders kept her until she could be transferred to rescue. DGS accepted her in May 2024 and she will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. July 15, 2024, 8:39 pm

Story
Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Kobe is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 75 pounds.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Meet Lucky! This incredibly handsome love bug was found super skinny and roaming the streets with burned paws. Some wonderful people took him in and got him to the vet to get treated. He’s now at our rescue and he’s the sweetest, least reactive dog ever. He did great meeting the front yard pack and had no reaction to being growled at. He’s a completely white pit bull with one mostly blue eye and one light brown eye. Lucky is about 1 year old and weighs 47 pounds, but he should put on 5-7 pounds. He’s so incredibly loving and sweet, he thinks everyone he meets is his best friend. He’s loving and smart—he already knows sit and is very respectful. Lucky really enjoys being with people. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Ben, AKA Big Ben, Gentle Ben is an 8.5 year old, large and loving Pit Bull mix (roughly 80lbs) who is great with people and is looking for his forever home where he can be spoiled and loved. He is our longest resident and has been looking for his forever home with our rescue for almost 6 YEARS! Ben is a really sweet boy who bonds deeply to his people and is very loyal. He needs room to roam and play and is best suited for life in a quieter area. He will need a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard. He is not an apartment or city dog. He would love nothing more than to take long walks with his owner and then cuddle up inside on a warm bed. Ben LOVES treats and would enjoy lounging around the house with a nice bone. He would also thrive in obedience training as he is smart and has a desire to please his people. Ben requires a large breed experienced home with no other pets in the home, preferably adult only home but he could be okay with kids 12 and older with evaluation. Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Meet Huck! He is an adorable ~35 lb, ~1 year old Pitbull/Cattle Dog mix who came to us with his brother, Micah from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He has been DNA tested and is a major mutts with lots of breeds! (Pitbull, Herding breeds, Chow, American Bulldog and German Shepherd!) Huck is living in a loving foster home and this is what his foster mom has to say about him! Don't be fooled by Huck's serious face and dramatic eyeliner - he's no drama queen. He's more of a Prince Charming :) Extreme cuddlebug: loves to loll his head into yours while you're on the sofa together, or when you're driving. Wants to sleep on the pillows curled up right next to you. Will put his paws on you for pets and hugs. Food motivated: he does best with a slow feeder toys for meals and loves treats for training! Active and agile: when he gets the zoomies, he races from bed to sofa to bed to sofa. Parkour parkour! Dog friendly: Loves to with his dog friends! He would love another dog friend in the home. Bonds deeply with his person and will look for them, stand by them, follow them from room to room, and does a great recall for that person. Until the bond is solid, he needs to be on leash or in a well-fenced area (yard, dog park) Rides very well in the car! Takes time to warm up to kids younger than 10, but he is getting better! He has discovered they can be the source of many delicious dropped food morsels. Very happy to take long naps on the bed, on the sofa, on the armchair in your office. He loves to curl up like a bagel in his favorite spots! He is a popular boy at the morning neighborhood gathering and "babysitters" have described him as a lovebug. Huck is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Baron is a 6 year old, 80-90lb big hunk of love, male Pit Bull. Baron is in a loving foster home and has been a great house guest! Baron has been waiting for his forever home for 4 years with us! He is super strong, energetic and goofy. Here is what his foster family has to say about him! ‘He loves the yard and having a house to roam around whenever he wants. He sleeps in the bed with his foster parents at night. During the day he stays gated in the kitchen while they are away at work, and spends his days sleeping quietly while they are gone. He is house-trained, and not destructive! He doesn't bark at anyone coming in the door. His leash manners in have improved drastically. He loves lounging on the couch and stretching on the floor. He has the best dinner manners and sits and waits for his bowl to be put down. He is eager to learn, so attentive and is an absolute people pleaser.‘ Baron loves to go for walks, run around and play in his kiddie pool with water. Baron is a large boy and very strong and will require a family that is experienced with bullies and or large breeds. Baron is not good with other dogs and since he is so strong and large, will need a family that will keep him safe and be diligent about keeping him away from other dogs. He is not very reactive though and can be polite and walk fine when seeing other dogs on walks. We recommend kids over 16 in the home or an adult only home. No cats. Baron will need a fenced yard since he is energetic and loves to run around. Baron is UTD on shots, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $250.

Story
Honey is an approximately 1 year old ABPT and is the perfect ambassador dog for her breed. Sadly, she was abandoned in the countryside after having puppies. Honey is a super sweet pup. She is a velcro dog, loves other dogs and people. She lives in a foster home with 9 other dogs and there's been no behavioral problems whatsoever. She likes to play, but not overly rambunctious. Her favorite thing is being right beside her human. She doesn't like being alone, but quickly settles down with the moral support of her canine friends. It is unknown if she is destructive when left alone, because she is kenneled. She does have some grass allergies so she would do best in a home without grass. She is vaccinated, microchipped, and sprayed. She has no known health related issues. If you would like to be considered for Honey, please submit an application. Honey will not be available to renters, or homes without a secure fence. A home visit is required. Honey is a courtesy post for House of Hope at Shelton WA, she is not an FHDR dog. Her adoption fee is $400,

Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 18-month-old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable underbite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  July 15, 2024, 8:39 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Goose is an estimated 2-year-old, 70 lb neutered male bully mix who came into the overcrowded Stockton animal shelter as a stray. Goose is so well mannered and a joy to be around; he loves to have his hair brushed, getting treats and pets. He does fabulous in doggy playgroups but does get super bummed to go back in his kennel. This dog is a social love bug and needs out of the shelter! Foster Update: Goose is the sweetest little short stack and just so hilarious! He provides endless entertainment with his goofy antics. He is good with other dogs as long as the handler is capable of upholding rules and boundaries as he can get really excitable and pushy in his greetings and interactions. He is also good in his crate. He goes in on command and is calm while crated, even during a longer work day. He can be a bit barky with strange noises but is otherwise quiet, so he may be OK with apartment living depending on the community. When out of the crate he entertains himself with toys and making funny faces at you, and he love*love*loves to snuggle. He is learning obedience training and leash training and would benefit from someone willing to work with him on these as it's all new to him. He is a bit all over the place on leash and does well with a training collar but he's not reactive. He had a few potty accidents in the beginning (we don't think he'd lived inside before) but increasing supervision has eliminated accidents for a while now. Goose has not had any exposure to cats or kids, but he is gentle and also playful so would likely be okay with dog-savvy kids. Sometimes he needs a few minutes to warm up to new people, but once he is comfortable with you he will be your new best friend. He is a well-tempered dog but a little rough around the edges so would likely be best matched with an owner who has *some* dog experience.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current on DPPV & Bordetella. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in Stockton, California and being transported via START, arriving to Seattle area foster care 1/18/2024. He will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.July 15, 2024, 8:39 pm

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Heidi - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Heidi, full of youthful exuberance for life, innocence and curiosity. Ready to crawl right into your heart (won't take long either!!) and be a part of a family...YOUR family! I am still a youngster yet, a big puppy at heart! I have lots of energy and am quite agile. I could be a great candidate for obedience classes and maybe even some fun ones like agility classes. I'm a smart cookie (i know cuz my foster mom tell me so!) and catch on quickly. At 11 months and around 45lbs, I shouldn't get much bigger at my adult weight. What a perfect size for...everything! Neighborhood strolls, nature hikes(aaaah, all those wonderful tantalizing smells), camping, being a co-pilot for errand runs or trips to the park! You name it, I'm ready to give it a whirl and have a blast too (with whatever it is) just cuz we're doing it together!! And the bestest part is that I'm also small enough that I don't hog the whole couch for my cherished cuddle time!! My foster mom wanted you to know this about me - -she is housebroken -she wants to be a lap dog; -she would fit well with an adult home with older children; -with her high prey drive she should be in a home without small dogs or cats but will do well with her size or larger size breed of dogs; -she is a fast learner and will shine with an owner that will include her in their everyday life adventures; -she is crate trained; -she follows basic commands and walks well on leash; -she thrives on daily walks; -she’s a family dog and will make a fabulous family member; -she loves walks, hikes, exploring, tug of war and games using her nose and sparking her intelligence; -she’s quite agile and shows ability in figuring out how to jump over or crawl under set obstacles. She is happy, fun loving and eager to bring joy to her forever home! As my short sleek coat is low maintenance in the grooming department, making me more of a wash-n-to type of gal. And you do know what that means don't you?!! Oh yep yep, lots of extra time in the 'spoil me rotten' department. And you know that's what it's all about!! ;) Big on personality, smart and inquisitive, affectionate and sweet, my oh my I have a boatload of great traits going on, oh and don't forget my stunning good looks, to make me a great family addition, I just need the family...could it be YOUR family?
