Rougi (Roo-GEE) my boy. The first male dog I have ever had and what a journey him and I have had. I found Rougi on a craigslist ad. He was adorable and had a really cool color pattern. I drove out to meet his old owner and when I saw him I knew that was my boy. He has been by myside everyday since. He is extremely loyal. He likes his space but, when he wants affection he will push his way to me and lay in my lap. He does not require a leash for walks as he will be right by myside no matter what happens around us. He is a very low maintenance dog with regards to affection. He loves his daily walks. He is a chunk though. Loves treats and food. Just like my other dog Luna. I would love to keep Rougi and Luna, but my wife and I have started to have kids of or own and as space runs short and the amount of time we are able to give these two babies gets less and less. We feel it is best to get them new homes were they can be truly appreciated and given more time and affection.

Canaan is a Heeler/pyranees mix (dob: 10/16/21). Not a big dog at only 50 lbs Original owner rehomed to a family friend at around two months old. New owners did not complete his vetting so we had it done. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is now microchipped and his heartworm test was negative. He is good with other dogs, cats, kids, teenagers and adults. He has to learn to trust at first. Housebroken, crate trained. Great temperament. Very loving and playful dog. He would be a great walking Buddy or jogging partner. Commands he knows: sit, wait, leave it, back (when you want him to back up out of a space), out, crate, bed, place, quiet, outside, potty, get a toy, come, walks well on a leash, get in the car. He’s super easy to train, very willing to please and loves treats. Sweet and smart, ready to join your family. He holds stuffed toys in his mouth for comfort and doesn’t destroy them. Luna's story with us started during the day before the terrible ice storm in January of 2020 in Dallas Texas. My friend how found her during a work one day. She was a country dog with a big will to survive. She was one of many in her litter. She was very spring/funny/sweet. She stood out amongst the pack. She cozied up to my wife and myself and made an immediate connection. She took a while to learn how to adapt to being a primarily inside dog, as when my friend found her she had been living in an abandon home from the start of her life until the day we took her in. She has been a great dog. She has no fear and is full of love. She gets attached to her new "pack" AKA my family. If space was not a problem we would keep her. But, unfortunately and fortunately my wife and I have started having kids. And, we feel we do not have the time energy or space to give her all that she deserves. 10/10 a great dog.

** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Tracy Johnson; 214-697-7362 ** Meet Scout (aka Muffin. The shelter called her Muffin, but we felt Scout was a better fit. Feel free to re-name her when she is yours). This soft-coated, beautiful dog is being fostered by our son in who is a college student in Waco, but Scout frequently visits us in Rowlett and will be with us most of July. Scout is believed to be an Australian Shepherd mix, approximately 2 years old. She is energetic, smart and loves to cuddle. She is trained to sit & fetch, loves to go on walks and can entertain herself with her toys. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Scout and would love to keep her, however we recommend that Scout goes to a home where she will be the only pet. She LOVES humans, smiles when she sees them, but Scout does not get along with other dogs (of any size) or cats. Our male dog was incompatible with Scout as he can be skittish and aggressive. After getting to know this sweet girl, we are confident she will be an amazing pet for the right person or family. Scout is a true angel with our special needs nephew. Actually, everyone Scout meets falls in love with her, especially the neighborhood kids. She is also great in the car (road trips or running errands) she’s a little doll in public stores. Also, she rarely has an accident in the house and is crate trained. Scout has been spayed. At this time, she is heartworm positive, but scheduled for treatment in Waco on July 17th. We will take care of this expense and will provide heartworm prevention medication for one year. We are committed to finding her a home as the Waco shelter does euthanize and we are not going to allow that to happen. Please contact us if you are interested.
