Story
Meet Muffin! She is a 1 yr old female Australian Cattle dog that weighs 38 lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 4/26 as a stray. She is a beauty and such a sweet smile! She appears to have had a loving home before as can be seen in her clean soft fur, yet has not been reclaimed. All of noise makes her a bit nervous but the more time out of her kennel with it is building up her confidence. She walks well on a leash, takes treats gently and enjoys being petted. As we walked past other dogs barking at her, she was a bit intimidated by them, but did not show any aggression. If there will be another pup in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. Can you offer this precious girl a loving home with a secured backyard, but live indoors where she can cuddle close to her human companions? Please come meet Muffin!

Story
This delightful and charming girl is Sapphire, a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard mix picked up by one of our officers as a stray on 3/31. This attractive girl weighs 84 pounds, is approx 6 years old and is spayed. She has the most stunning ice blue/gray eyes! She is one busy, on-the-go type girl who is lively and active. She loves treats and takes them nicely. She walks well on a leash. She did her business in the shelter yard immediately upon arrival. She knows the sit command. She was not interested in toys or balls, but rather seemed to enjoy exploring the yard. She is friendly, was A-OK with me giving her loving attention and rolled over for belly rubs. She appears as though she’s been well cared for, but possibly was mostly an outside dog judging from the calluses on her elbows. She stayed very close to me and just seemed to want to be near a human companion. Sapphire hopes her stay at the shelter will be a short one, and that her evaluation will draw attention to what a wonderful and devoted family member she could be.

We adopted Ruby to be a service dog for a retired vet. She is not working out. Neither the disabled vet nor I who also has medical issues can take care of her. We have a dog house we bought for Ruby, but she does not seem to use it. Whoever adopts her will also get the doghouse.Thank you.

Story
My daughter adopted him from the Royse City Shelter. He's approximately 7-9 months old. He's a sweet, curious, active/playful dog that LOVES attention. He likes to jump on you when he's excited, so he does need some training, but knows basic commands. He's fine being a solo dog, but does play well with others. He's still young so he requires play/activity time. If we didn't have 3 other dogs, we would keep him. Nothing negative to say about him, honestly - just wasn't the right time.
