Story
Bear is a 5-year-old Mini Australian Shepherd. He is crate trained, potty trained, leash trained, good with cats and other dogs (he loves dogs), went to boarding school as a puppy, and is neutered. He is extremely loyal, sweet, and very bonded to his people. He loves cuddles, being close, and thrives on attention and connection. He is also emotionally intense and does best in a home that understands herding/working breeds and can give him structure. I’ve realized I’m not the best long-term fit for Bear. I believe he needs a family, a backyard, and ideally another dog to play with. I want him to feel fulfilled, calm, and secure, not anxious or understimulated. Bear is not aggressive. He is eager to please but can get anxious without enough exercise or if there’s a lot of commotion or new people. He may be shy at first but usually warms up quickly. He will be your little shadow and a loyal best friend. Please message me with as much info as possible if you are interested!

Story
Josie is approximately a 10-year-old Australian Shepherd loyal, smart, and full of love. She’s well-behaved, house-trained, and still has plenty of energy to enjoy walks, playtime, and snuggles. She would do best in a home without other pets. She can be aggressive toward other dogs and doesn’t care for cats, so she truly needs to be the only pet where she can get all the love and attention. She has been around chickens, sheep, goats, cattle, and horses and does very well with livestock. Like a true Aussie, she loves to work; and will often herd them in a circle over and over. I’m hoping to find her a forever home where she’ll be cherished, understood, and given the companionship she deserves.

Story
Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

Story
Gordy is a fluffy cookie monster, trapped in the body of a Border Collie. He doesn't know how to herd livestock or chase balls. He'd rather sit pretty for treats than run after sheep.Gordy is as handsome as they come! His right ear always stands at attention, while his left cocks to the side and a smile is stretched across his face. He loves to play tag in the yard with other dogs and tries to beat the neighboring dog to the end of the fence line. Gordy may be a little slow when feeling at ease in new situations or with new people, but once he knows you're a good person, he'll think you're the bee's knees and want to be friends!Would you like to wake up to Gordy's smile every morning? Then contact OHAR to learn more about how to meet him!History: Gordy was turned into the Mesquite Animal shelter when found as a stray. Gordy is a happy, playful guy who is eager to please. He is crate trained graduated from obedience training where he was a star pupil.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule.
