Story
Between May 1st and 15th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $50!
Cody is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix!
This handsome boy is very happy and outgoing, loves going on adventures and spending time with his foster family. He weighs in around 58 pounds, but is pretty leggy! This boy is all puppy, and loves to play and receive lots of attention from his foster family. He's working very hard on not jumping up when excited, and learning basic manners and training! Cody is super sweet and loves to learn; he's extremely treat motivated and hopes his forever family will continue training with him. He is fostered with four cats who he loves. He does well with them, but may engage in a playful chase from time to time. He'd do best in a home with cats that are dog savvy, and won't be startled by his big puppy energy! He is also fostered with other dogs his size, and previously lived with small dogs. Cody would benefit from a confident and social sibling to help him continue to build his confidence. He loves to play rough, but needs some time to acclimate to his new friends before he's ready to wrestle. He enjoys attending doggy daycare where he can run and play and burn off his energy. While he previously lived with a tiny human, he would do best in a home with older kids - teenagers only please! He's both potty trained and crate trained, and working on walking well on his leash. He loves stuffed toys, especially those with squeakers! Cody enjoys running around and does great burning off his energy in the backyard. His ideal forever family will be patient with him as he works on his training and becomes the best version of himself!
Cody is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275!
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
