Story
This sweet bonded pair ended up at the Kern County Shelter after their human passed away. They had been with her since they were young and were very well-loved family members. Sadly, they started shutting down at the shelter, but luckily a kind foster stepped up and cared for them for several months before having to go oversees to care for family. That’s when Harli & Bear made their journey to Lily’s, first spending time with a temporary foster and now with a long-term foster until they find their forever home (hopefully soon!). With all the changes in their life, understandably, Harli & Bear take some time to warm up to new people. Once they do, they spend most of their day lounging, wanting to be near their humans. Bear loves toys and won’t go anywhere without his stuffy. He is curious and a bit more reserved than Harli. But once settled, he sure loves his belly rubs! While she can be shy at first, Harli is a couch potato and a “go with the flow” kind of gal, just happy to be a part of the crowd. Both are learning confidence in their foster home, slowly learning to greet new people and open up. They both get along well with other dogs. In one of their foster homes, they had 5 resident doggy siblings and did well but would prefer a smaller pack at home with maybe one other dog so they can get all the attention they deserve. The pair have been working to befriend the resident cat, waiting and hoping at the top of the stairs that the cat will appear and want to play. While the resident cat isn’t quite as into his new friends, they are beginning to slowly win him over with time and persistence! Despite all they’ve been through, these two remain sweet and gentle dogs, looking for their new furever home to call their own. They have received rave reviews from their fosters on how easy and lovable they remain. Here’s what one of their fosters had to say: "These two are the most adorable bonded pair I have ever seen. Harli is sweet and shy. She is often afraid to go outside to greet my other dogs, so Bear will be by her side and he is her best bud and will always be with her. I have seen him give her kisses on the face to reassure her. They are an easy pair. They want mostly to be with their person and to have their bellies rubbed or their back scratched. They are not aggressive. They eat their food together peacefully and do not guard their food or toys. Wherever they go, their new guardian would be so incredibly lucky to have them. I have only fostered them for six days and already love them so much. They're an easy loving pair. Please consider adopting them. You will love them!"

Story
Autumn is a wonderful dog with a lovely heart. She is so affectionate and loving BUT she needs to be trained and we have found it difficult to keep a routine and consistency with our 4 year old son, who loves to do the exact opposite of what should be done when it comes to dog training. She loves children but tends to think she is one of them, and of course kids and dogs play differently. She is great with my 7 year old who understands boundaries, so I would suggest she end up in a home with kids 7+. She is a great walking partner, she loves playing fetch in the backyard, and she can even self-entertain. We love her very much but it seems we currently cannot provide the environment she needs to learn to be part of a family home. At the end of the day, she is a puppy and needs someone to devote the proper time and attention to her.

Story
I’m Kal‑El,. a 3.5‑year‑old black Border Collie mix of about 70 lbs of earnest devotion. I’m a big softie who adores butt scratches, quiet walks, and being near you. My crate is my cozy den where I go to decompress and ponder life’s big questions. New people, fast movements, or unclear situations can feel overwhelming, and I’be made choices I’m not proud of. I've snapped at family members and, a couple of times, nipped strangers. I’m not trying to be tough; I just need someone who can help me when I’’m worried. I’m smart and respond to calm leadership, clear expectations, and predictable routines. I’ve been working with a trainer and have made great progress through consistent training and behavior‑modification. I enjoy other dogs and play nicely with those I know, though can be a little protective. Thoughtful introductions and steady boundaries help. I’m hoping for a calm adult home with steady leadership and clear routines where a worried pup feels safe and can be the best companion.

Story
Meet our newest puppy arrival, Rocky Road! This little guy is cute, loveable, and just puppy-licious. He is the perfect age to go to a home and learn how to be a wonderful family dog. Rocky was transferred to us from a kill shelter in Central Valley so we don't have much history on him. With his fluffy fur, floppy ears and black and white coloring he strongly resembles a border collie puppy. He is very alert and engaging, and loves cuddles and to give kisses back. Rocky will be fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered as part of the adoption process. If interested in meeting this wonderful up, please complete an application at www.jellysplace.org, and/or email us at info@jellysplace.org.

Story
Frida would do best in a home with low activity. She loves her adventures outside.. going on walks and hikes, but while in her home Frida would like it to be peaceful and low energy. She would do best with another dog in the home and no with no small children or small animals. Frida is a sweetheart, but she scares easily. A more mellow home with less traffic would help her feel safer. If you have any questions or if you would like to set up an appointment to meet Frida please call 707-459-4900.

Juliet is a beautiful, soft-spirited girl who’s still finding her confidence after being rescued as a stray. Like many Red Heelers, Juliet is sharp as a tack, observant, and eager to bond closely with her people. She has that classic heeler devotion — the kind that makes her want to stay by your side once she knows she’s safe. With a patient family and a calm environment, she’ll blossom into the incredible companion she’s meant to be. Juliet is ready for a fresh start, a soft place to land, and someone to show her the world isn’t so scary.
