Frida would do best in a home with low activity. She loves her adventures outside.. going on walks and hikes, but while in her home Frida would like it to be peaceful and low energy. She would do best with another dog in the home and with no small children or small animals. Frida is a sweetheart, but she scares easily. He still shows sighs of being shy and nervous around strangers, but once he knows he can trust you Obsidian is a sweet loving boy. He does need to learn more manners along with some structure. Periwinkle is the mom of some amazing pups, but none more amazing than their Mama!! Just look at those ears and bright eyes! She is clever, attentive and affectionate, she has been a super attentive and encouraging mother, and has been warm and welcoming to all she meets. This ~50 pound mixed breed girl is eager to learn and be loved, and more than ready to head out on her own proudly walking with her person, or people, her family! Periwinkle is bright and super willing to participate in all life has to offer. Athletic and wanting plenty of activity and adventure in her life, she also will happily wallow in the down time, the relaxation and cuddling time at home with her people!! Great dog!! Foster notes: “Periwinkle is a two-year-old Border Collie mix: confident, playful, and even-keeled. She’s spayed, fully housebroken, walks well on leash, and knows sit, stay, and food recall. Not a barker, no resource guarding. She loves her crate and knows how to settle, which makes her an excellent office or work-from-home companion. Give her good exercise and she’s fine home alone for a couple of hours; give her a couch and she’ll claim the sunny spot. She adores other dogs (chase and be chased are her love languages), and she’s a polite greeter to dogs, people, and kids alike. She bonds fast. Her ideal family is active, willing to exercise her daily, and ideally has another dog she can live with. (She’s currently bunking with her foster family, alongside her brother Joocy.) She’s a quick study with a champion sniffer: on walks, stopping to smell everything is the whole point. She’s super athletic and can clear a 6-foot fence with actual grace, so a regular yard won’t contain her unsupervised. She doesn’t need to be leashed everywhere: her recall is good, so off-leash hikes and park time suit her. Full disclosure: not cat friendly, and her triggers are runners, fast bicycles, lizards, and squirrels. She’s decidedly not squirrel friendly. She’s working on the first two with redirection; the last two she’s written off. Her ideal week: daily walks, fetch, play sessions, a couple of long hikes, plus errands, town outings, and patio brunch. She travels well in the car, so road trips and trailheads are on the table.”
