Story
Frida would do best in a home with low activity. She loves her adventures outside.. going on walks and hikes, but while in her home Frida would like it to be peaceful and low energy. She would do best with another dog in the home and no with no small children or small animals. Frida is a sweetheart, but she scares easily. A more mellow home with less traffic would help her feel safer. If you have any questions or if you would like to set up an appointment to meet Frida please call 707-459-4900.

Story
Meet Jenna 💛 Jenna is a gentle girl who we’re still getting to know, but so far she’s showing us that she has a sweet and sensitive personality just waiting to shine. She can be a little shy at first and may need some time to adjust to new people and environments, but with patience and kindness, her warm nature begins to peek through. Once she starts to feel comfortable, Jenna shows how affection-motivated she is. She enjoys attention and gentle affection, and bonding with her people will help her confidence grow more and more each day. She has a medium energy level, making her a great companion for a home that enjoys walks, relaxing time together, and helping a pup blossom at her own pace. She does better in a home where people are around most of the time. Jenna is still working on her leash manners and can pull a bit on walks, but with consistency and positive training she’ll continue to improve. Because of her sensitive nature, she’ll do best with adopters who understand that some dogs just need a little extra time to settle in and feel safe. Jenna is not a good match for homes with cats, but with the right patient family, she has the potential to become a wonderfully loyal companion. If you’re looking for a sweet dog to grow with and help build confidence, Jenna might just be the perfect girl for you.

Story
Blaze is a 1-year-old, medium-sized bundle of joy with a heart as bright as his name! Sweet-natured, loving, and full of life, Blaze is the kind of dog who greets every day and every person with a happy tail and an eager grin. This affectionate boy loves hugs, cuddles, and belly rubs and would happily spend his days soaking up love from his people. He’s a social butterfly with wonderful dog etiquette — respectful, gentle, and well-mannered with dogs of all sizes (even the tiny ones!). Blaze has an amazing sense of boundaries and adjusts beautifully to the energy of his canine friends. Out and about, Blaze is active, curious, and engaged. He has a strong recall and would make a fantastic off-leash adventure companion once bonded with his person. He knows some basic commands and is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please, making him a joy to train. He has a very gentle mouth, taking treats softly from his human. Like many young dogs, Blaze is still learning to keep all four paws on the ground when he’s excited to meet new people — but his enthusiasm just shows how much he loves everyone he meets! With a little consistency and structure, he’s sure to master that in no time. Blaze would thrive in a home that can offer him regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal, joyful, and affectionate companion who brightens every moment.

Story
Loki is a happy boy, playing with friends, running about, and giving hugs! He does better being outdoors in a fenced space, he likes most dogs after an introduction and chooses his playmates, typically other males it seems (that can be situational.) He and an old male Aussie and a young Great Pyr have a love triangle, wrestling, humping and chasing each other, they are super cute and silly, he has a strong bond to his buddies, both two-legged and four!! Loki takes his time to warm up to some, and is particular about handling and restraint, not taking it well from people he doesn't know. Loki has a healthy sense of adventure and not the best recall though when he has a runabout here at the Milo Sanctuary he comes back before long. A country life is definitely in order for him! He can be affectionate and gives great hugs. Loki has had physical and other forms of trauma in his life, Loki came to us with a badly broken tail/spinal injury, he's healed and happy guy given his own freedom of movement. He deserves a chance. A country home with adults. He is fine being a predominantly outdoor dog with a buddy. He does not like a harness. Come meet him at our sanctuary!

Story
Gigi is a dog-friendly active girl who does well with dogs but is wary of strangers at first. Once she bonds with her person, she does exhibit some separation anxiety so a home where she can be with you most of the time is ideal. A rural home with breed experience is preferred and maybe a four legged friend! Please call 707-459-4900 to schedule an appointment to meet GIGI.

Story
Max was born on April 10, 2021. He is an Australian Shepherd with a red/copper coat, blue eyes and a long tail. He is a medium-sized athletic dog. Max forms deep bonds with us and can become jealous if he doesn’t receive enough attention. He is very friendly, loves to cuddle, and still thinks he’s a puppy. We acquired Max June 29, 2021, without breeding rights. He is intelligent, energetic, and extremely loyal. Max loves the outdoors, especially camping, and enjoys joining my husband on trail rides while mountain biking. The time we acquired Max was also when my mom was diagnosed with dementia. Two years ago, I lost my mom and have not been able to return to work since then. Letting Max go is incredibly difficult, but due to my current financial situation and not working. I can no longer afford to care for him the way he deserves. Max is a smart, devoted, high energy companion-perfect for those who enjoy an active lifestyle and want a dog who is affectionate. Adoption fee negotiable!
