Story
Frida would do best in a home with low activity. She loves her adventures outside.. going on walks and hikes, but while in her home Frida would like it to be peaceful and low energy. She would do best with another dog in the home and with no small children or small animals. Frida is a sweetheart, but she scares easily. A more mellow home with less traffic would help her feel safer. If you have any questions or if you would like to set up an appointment to meet Frida please call 707-459-4900.

Obsidian needs someone who will have time to spend with him and teach him. Please call us at 707-459-4900 if you would like to know more or set up an appointment to meet Obsidian.

Story
Autumn is a sweet, gentle girl happily waiting for her forever family. She's not your typical border collie showing less energy than is typical of her breed. She can be shy at first and would benefit from a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe and surrounded by love. Autumn would do well with another dog in the home to show her the way, encourage her to go on walks and help her build trust and confidence. She would enjoy spending time with her people at home and relaxing in a sun-soaked yard. Autumn has hip dysplasia. As a young dog, she has a long, good life ahead of her with the right support — weight management, joint supplements, and moderate exercise instead of high-impact activity. Her low-to-medium energy level is really aligned with the kind of activity dogs with her condition require; she’s not a dog who needs to run miles to be happy. Please submit an application if she sounds like a match for you.

Story
Looking to add a little Lavender to your life? This lovely girl brings a calming presence, a gentle heart, and a quiet kind of love that's truly special. Lavender is a sweet soul who's looking for a patient family to help her blossom. She can be shy when meeting new people and takes a little time to adjust, but once she feels safe, her affectionate side begins to shine. She's dog-friendly and would enjoy a canine companion, and she does best with dog-savvy children ages 13 and older who understand that she needs a calm, respectful approach. Lavender has a soft mouth, is motivated by love and affection, and enjoys learning when positive encouragement is part of the experience. As she continues to build her confidence, Lavender will benefit from ongoing socialization with people to help her feel more comfortable in new situations. With patience, kindness, and a little time, she'll reward her family with quiet companionship and unwavering loyalty. If you're looking for a loving dog who's ready to grow alongside you, Lavender may be the perfect addition to your home.

Story
Hi, her name is Sky. She’s a deaf cattle dog that knows Sign Language, she’s trained and a great companion for those who are active or constantly going on hikes. She loves to play and sleep. She’s also a very sweet girl and loves cuddles and kisses. My husband has unfortunately gotten into a car crash and won’t be able to take her out for a while, I have a baby and have to help him recover, so I can’t be taking care of her as much as I know she deserves.

Story
Some dogs need to be taught how to be part of a family. Archie seems to have already figured it out. This handsome, approximately 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler Retriever mix is currently in a loving foster home, where he has been showing everyone what a truly wonderful companion he can be. At 88 pounds, Archie is a big boy who could stand to lose a few pounds, but underneath that extra weight is an absolutely gorgeous dog with a soft, beautiful coat and an even softer heart. Archie is affectionate, gentle, smart, and incredibly well-mannered. He loves his people and wants to be wherever they are. He doesn't jump all over you when he wants attention-instead, he sits beside you and leans into you for pets. It's his very sweet way of saying, "I'm right here. Love me." And this boy knows how to have fun! Archie LOVES to play ball. He even understands the rules: he'll chase the ball, bring it back, and drop it so you can throw it again. He also enjoys toys and has a hilarious habit of hiding his favorite stuffed toys in the garden for later. Apparently, he's not just a retriever-he's also a little treasure collector. His foster family has been giving him the chance to experience all the little things that make a house feel like home, and Archie has been an absolute star. He sleeps peacefully through the night in his kennel, has had no potty accidents, and is learning household manners like waiting patiently at doorways. He's also discovering that car rides are pretty fantastic. Archie hops right into the car and settles down like a pro, making him a great candidate for adventures with his future family. On walks, Archie is still working on his leash manners. He's a strong boy, so continued training will be important, but he's smart, receptive, and making progress. Archie has also done well with other dogs. He enjoys playing and would love a canine friend who appreciates a good game of fetch. He's also shown an impressive ability to respect boundaries. When the resident cat made it very clear that she wasn't interested in becoming his new playmate, Archie took the hint, turned away, and gave her space. He's continued to coexist peacefully with her as everyone has settled in. Archie does have one important request: he wants to be with his people. He thrives on companionship and isn't particularly fond of being alone, so he'd do best with a family that wants a dog who will genuinely be part of their everyday life. He's playful without being wild, affectionate without being pushy, clever enough to open screened doors, gentle enough to handle a cat's attitude, and smart enough to know that dropping the ball is the fastest way to get another throw. Archie is currently in foster, where he's getting to show off all these wonderful qualities outside of a shelter environment. Now he's looking for the family who will see what his foster family already sees: Archie isn't just a big, handsome dog. He's a gentle, goofy, affectionate companion who is ready to be someone's best friend. If you're looking for a big-hearted dog with a beautiful coat, a playful spirit, excellent manners, and a whole lot of love to give, Archie may be your guy.Submit an adoption application HERE: https://www.hsnb.org/dog-adoption-application/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 88 Age: 3yrs 3mths 1wks
