Frida would do best in a home with low activity. She loves her adventures outside.. going on walks and hikes, but while in her home Frida would like it to be peaceful and low energy. She would do best with another dog in the home and with no small children or small animals. Frida is a sweetheart, but she scares easily. Since Obsidian has been at The Milo Foundation Sanctuary he has been able to learn some manners. He still shows sighs of being shy and nervous around strangers, but once he knows he can trust you Obsidian is a sweet loving boy. He does need to learn more manners along with some structure. Meet Autumn! She's a sweet, gentle girl happily living in a foster home while she waits for her forever family. Autumn's foster family let us know that while she can be shy at first, she's really opened up and loves hanging out with everyone. She has bonded closely with her foster mom (who works from home and takes Autumn on walks), but will happily take pets or hang out on the couch with the rest of the family. She's currently living in a home with kids, a resident dog and several cats and does great with all, happily allowing the cats to lay with (or on!) her and playing in the yard with the dog. She loves the companionship of other dogs, and is polite, bouncy and playful, taking the lead from dogs in new scenarios. For this reason, Autumn's forever home should have a confident/happy-go-lucky resident dog. Autumn is crate trained and will hang out there while her people are out. She does have some separation anxiety and would prefer her people to be around most of the time, but does fine if left for a few hours at a time. Autumn is also potty trained, but she doesn't alert when she needs to go, and may have accidents if not taken outside to potty every 6 hours or so during the day. While she may be a border collie mix, she's not typical to the breed at all. She's mellow and pretty low energy, who's happy with a 2 mile walk in the morning, then will snooze the rest of the day away! She has hip dysplasia, though shows no physical symptoms on a daily basis, and is capable of walking and playing like a normal young dog. Dogs with hip dysplasia typically have a long, good quality life ahead of them, which can be managed by keeping her at an appropriate weight, maintaining moderate exercise (which she loves), and with additional joint supplements. Her experienced foster mom says she's such an easy dog, it's hard to see why someone hasn't adopted her yet! Apply today to meet Autumn and learn more about her from her foster family!
