Story
Requires: -Herding breed experienced home -Large fenced yard outside the city -Another playful dog in the home her size or larger Keira is a 2 year old, 50lb Border Collie who is looking for her perfect home. She takes a while to trust, but is loyal to her people once she does. Keira is fearful of people and does not easily trust. She can be skittish and is a flight risk if not contained properly. She will build trust with her people after a period of time spent together and trust building, but she is not a ‘people’ dog with new people. She is definitely a dog's dog. She prefers to be with her dog friends and spends her days out in a play yard with 5-7 other dogs. Keira will need a home that understands and is ok with the fact she is not a super lovey dog that will want human attention all the time. Keira will do best in an adult only home that is patient in building her trust and ok with her being aloof and doing her own thing at times. She is well mannered and does great hanging out in a fenced yard with her dog friends. She is super active and loves to run around in her current large play yard with other dogs. Keira will thrive in a home with a large fenced yard outside of the city. She is not an apartment/condo/townhome dog. Keira requires at least one other dog around her size in the home, and herding breed experience. She would thrive in a more rural setting with a large fenced yard. Keira is UTD on shots, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

FOSTER/FOSTER-TO-ADOPT: Meet Denver! This beautiful Aussie/Border Collie mix has been through a lot in his life including living on the streets. He will need a confident owner who has experience with working breeds and rescue dogs. He came to us very shut down and did not trust. He is starting to come out of his shell but can be anxious, very protective and is only beginning to trust. He is potty trained, and crate trained and loves to go on walks. He does resource guard (with food, toys, etc), which is no surprise as he is used to competing for his food and resources living on the streets. He requires an adult only home with no other animals or children. He will need a free standing home in suburban or rural neighborhood with a fully fenced yard. He would benefit from being in a foster/foster-to-adopt home where someone could work with him and teach him to trust again. He is currently intact and will need to be altered prior to adoption. He is up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.

Story
Whistler is a ~1-year-old male Border Collie mix weighing about 45 lbs and came up as a stray from California. He is extremely sweet and loves attention and love from his people! He's can be a little shy at first but opens up very quickly to become a super friendly dog. He does well with other dogs and would make a great 2nd dog in the home. Border Collies need an active family as they are smart and inquisitive. He would love a home in a suburban or a rural area where he can have a fenced yard to run and play. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations and will be neutered, and microchipped prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $500.

Chloe is a super sweet girl who loves to be with people. She is an active girl who walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands. She would love an active family to take her on walks, hikes and adventures. She would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural neighborhood. She is not tested with kids or cats. Chloe is on the wait list to be spayed and will be spayed prior to adoption. She is UTD on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Kola! He is an adorable 9-month-old Border Collie/Lab mix who came to us as a stray from CA. He is a smart, fun, sweet little guy who loves to play and snuggle. He loves other dogs and would love to be in a home with another dog to help show him the ropes as he grows up, or a home that has other dogs in their friend/family circle for him to socialize with. He will require a home that can keep him mentally and physically active. Since he is still young, he will need a forever home that is committed to working on obedience training with him. He would do best in a freestanding home with a securely fenced yard in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.

Foster or forever home needed for Callie! She is a ~1yr old, 45-50 lb Border Collie/Shepherd mix. Callie is a very sweet and energetic young girl with a great personality. She would make an amazing adventure buddy, and enjoys walks, hiking and could be trained to be a great running partner! Callie listens well and will thrive in a home that can work on basic obedience training, as well as keep her properly exercised. Callie is great with other dogs and would enjoy another dog friend in her forever home, or would be ok as an only dog with continued doggie socialization and play dates. Callie is not tested with kids or cats, but we think kids over 8 could be fine. Callie is spayed, UTD on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
* KRAKEN CALENDAR FEATURE DOG * Yes, Ellie is in the 2023 Kraken Calendar with Buoy! Animal Profile: Ellie is an estimated 2-year-old female mixed breed (her paperwork says Border Collie but we think McNab possibly with lab or pittie) who was rescued as a stray on the streets of Texas. She currently weighs about 50 lbs. Seattle Foster Update: Ellie is a very fun loving and affectionate dog who is adjusting well to foster care. She has not met a stranger and enjoys pets, belly rubs, and playing fetch with all people. She loves to do zoomies and is so funny when she runs at full speed -- she makes the funniest faces! She is super smart and food motivated which is helpful with training, but she also lacks impulse control (wants to do everything at 110%) so she will need a structured home that can set and consistently enforce boundaries such as being calm coming out of the crate and going through doorways, walking in a structured heel on a training collar, and practicing place in the house. (She is staying in "place" for over an hour at a time, except for when there's some big distraction.) Ellie now has a good foundation and knows loose leash walking with a confident handler, and is crate trained. All she needs is the right home. Ellie loves car rides and playing tug. She is quiet and content in her crate. She loves to play with other dogs but has a rude play style so would do best with a tolerant playful dog in the home, or as the only dog. She has lived with cats in the past but does need a lot of management with them so would do best without cats in the home as well. While she is friendly with children, older kids would be best due to Ellie's size and general enthusiasm for life. Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Other tolerant dogs considered No cats preferred Older kids OK Fenced yard required Ability to continue with training Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Ellie joined us from our Texas rescue partner on February 16, 2022. She was fostered in the greater Seattle area and adopted and then many months later returned for being "out of control;" she had not been trained. She is currently in a training savvy foster home and doing great. She is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. September 28, 2023, 3:41 am

Disclaimer: I am located in Texas. I can be transported once adopted. Transport fee is $230.I was surrendered along with my 4 puppies because my family could not take care of me. I am an amazing jumper and have lots of energy. My foster mom thinks I would be amazing at agility training courses . I do not like to be by myself, so a home with a calmer dog would help settle me. I am good with other dogs but also love my humans. I am still a puppy at heart. I was raised with 3 children aged 8-16 so I would do well with an energetic family.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Hi, my name is Bruce, just kidding!! My name is Eclipse and I’d love to meet you. Do you like the beach? lake? swimming? Me too!! I love everything to do with water and playing. I love to run around and play, chase balls, squeaky toys and frisbee’s. Not to toot my own snoot, but I am completely potty trained, I walk great on a leash, I sleep through the night, I know sit, down, boop, touch, paw and up. I’m also very good at puzzles. My foster family has been trying to teach me new tricks, I love to learn and they always make it fun. They always tell me how smart I am. While I have a lot of energy, I’m also comfortable being close to my people. I would make a good working dog, or just a good family dog. I’m a very affectionate boy and I really do like to give and receive cuddles. I get along really well with all dogs, big and small. I’m looking for a home that will appreciate how athletic, intelligent, loyal, loving and hardworking I am. So if you are looking for a companion who can light up your life? I can guarantee you if you adopt me, your life will be filled with love, fun and adventure. Click the button to meet me,  I’ll sit here patiently waiting for your email!  Due to his breed and agility a fenced yard is essential. Story
Tommy was found wandering the streets of Ensenada, dirty, full of ticks, very thin and with mange, but the most shocking thing was the tumor hanging from his groin, approximately 15cm in diameter. At the vet's office it was more feasible to amputate his penis and remove the tumor that was rooted to it, however we made the fight to not have to amputate it, and he was given about 15 chemotherapies so that the tumor reached 4 cm in diameter and could be removed. He only needed 2 more chemo treatments and today he is ready for his new home! He is a VERY loyal, loving dog, and is always by your side, looking for cuddles, affection and loves to be kissed. He is a dog that even though he doesn't get along well with other males, he is good with females and puppies, although sometimes he is a little grumpy, he prefers the tranquility and the company of humans. He always has a scolding face! We guess it's his way of blackmailing us to give him treats, haha. But he is one of the cutest dogs we have in the shelter, he has certainly won our hearts. He is an excellent traveler, he knows perfectly well how to ride in a car, and he loves walks, seeing new places and above all, sleeping in a big bed at the end of the day. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transportation to Rowland Heights, Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation. The transportation fee is around $150.

Looking for a smarty pants? Well you found me! Hi! I’m Cody! I am a 7yrs old Border Collie mix, around 45lbs. I am one of the nice guys and smart too, everything you are looking for in a companion! I love the peoples and the other doggos. Do not be fooled by my age, I am still young and spry and could show younger pups a thing or two! I am ready now to find my forever home and get going on life's adventures with you! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

These pups are in Brier, Washington too!

Story
HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED: Meet Sundae! She is loyal, happy, has boundless energy, is incredibly smart and is alert and wary of strangers. This girl is a herding breed dog who would love a home outside of the city on acreage where she can have a job to do. She is not for the sedentary dog owner. She loves to walk the perimeter of her property and in typical herding dog fashion will redirect people and alert them once she's familiar with her boundaries. Due to her herding breed, she has an irresistible impulse to herd, anything: cars, dogs, kids, etc. so an adult only home would be best for her. Sundae bonds deeply with her person and can be protective of them. She will need to be in a home where there is strong leadership. She can be reactive or show guarding behavior in stressful situations that she feels are 'threatening' to her person. She can also redirect in these situations or when displaying her herding instincts. She will need a firm hand and strong supervision when there is a lot of stimulation. She has her challenges, but she is incredibly loving and loyal to her people. She is spayed, current on her shots and micro-chipped. Her adoption fee is $150.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Rudy! A playful and bouncy 3 year old, 65 lb Lab/Cattle dog mix. This perfect adventure buddy is ready to find his forever home! Rudy warms up very quickly to people and is super loving and playful. He would make a great companion for a family that is active and loves to play with him in their backyard. Rudy is very smart and would benefit from a family that will continue his basic obedience for bond building and confidence. Rudy can be selective/reactive with other dogs but with proper introductions and continued effort to properly socialize him, he could possibly do ok with another dog. No small dogs or cats. He would also do best with a home that has a fenced yard for him to run and play, but could do okay with proper exercise in a townhome/condo. Rudy is UTD on shots, microchipped and neutered.
