Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  January 9, 2026, 2:36 pm

Story
Logan is a five and half years old border collie mix, neutered, with beautiful tri-color soft coat. He is highly intelligent, affectionate, obedient, athletic and a bit goofy. He has amazing agility and can easily catch flying frisbee 50 yards away, he runs like those border collies in agility championship games you see on TV. If you are looking for a lap dog, he might not be the right fit, but he will be your buddy, your sidekick. He is a herding breed dog and requires at least 45 minutes walking everyday. It would mean the world to him if you take him out for some running, fetching or hiking on weekends. We are rehoming Logan because we will have to move into a small apartment soon and also start working long hours. This is a very hard decision for us, but we want him to be able to have a backyard and not being left home alone all day.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Enzo! Enzo is a 5-year-old, 30 lb Border Collie/McNab mix who came to us from an overcrowded CA shelter. He’s incredibly sweet, loving, and as smart as they come! Enzo has been shining in foster care! He is crate trained, house trained, and with some patience and guidance from his wonderful fosters ~ he has learned to love cats! He’s also great with other dogs and loves his people. Enzo is active, playful, and still full of that classic herding dog spunk. Fetch is one of his all-time favorite activities. He knows several commands: sit, down, shake, roll over, and spin and is eager to keep learning! This boy doesn’t just want physical exercise; he needs mental work. Puzzle toys, training sessions, trick work, nose games — he thrives when you give his brain something to do. Because of this, we are specifically looking for an adopter with herding breed experience who understands what dogs like Enzo need to feel fulfilled. He’ll do best in a home prepared to keep his mind and body busy, give him structure, and help channel his intelligence in a positive way. Enzo would love a home with a yard and an active routine — hikes, adventures, outings, and plenty of enrichment. Once his needs are met, he is affectionate, loyal, and a wonderful companion who bonds deeply with his people. If you’re searching for a brilliant, devoted, fun adventure buddy — and you understand herding breeds — Enzo is ready to be your guy! Enzo is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Fenton is an approximately 5-year-old, Border Collie/McNab mix weighing about 47 pounds (and still filling out after coming to us a bit skinny). He came from an overcrowded CA shelter and is recovering from a leg injury that has been healing well. This handsome boy is as sweet as they come—gentle, patient, and absolutely adores people. He’s done well with children he’s met and loves saying hello to everyone (he even enjoyed meeting all the trick-or-treaters on Halloween!). Fenton is house-trained, walks well on leash, and is a total fetch fanatic. He loves toys, hikes, and all kinds of adventures, but also knows how to relax and enjoy a good cuddle or nap once playtime’s over. Fenton gets along well with other dogs and would love a playful canine companion—preferably one who can help set healthy boundaries, since he can be a bit pushy at times. He would do best in a home without cats. We’re looking for a home with herding breed experience that can keep his mind and body active, continue helping him finish his recovery, and give him the full, happy life he deserves. He is definitely a dog that loves having something to do! If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s ready for all of life’s adventures, Fenton might just be your perfect match! Fenton is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Hudson! Hudson is a 1-year-old, 53 lb Border Collie/Lab/Pyrenees mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This big, dopey boy is packed with personality, brains, and puppy energy! Hudson is a total goofball ~ sweet, friendly, and always ready for the next adventure. He does great with other dogs and loves people, greeting the world with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. He’s eager to learn, eager to please, and incredibly smart ~ the kind of dog who could go a long way with consistent training and structure. This athletic guy will need a very active home. Hiking, backpacking, long walks, outdoor exploring ~ if you love the outdoors, Hudson will happily keep up. He’s strong, energetic, and built for adventure, with those huge paws hinting he may still have a little growing to do. Because he’s agile and capable, a securely fenced yard with tall fencing is important if he has yard access. He’ll thrive with engaged owners who provide both physical exercise and mental enrichment. With the right active lifestyle and continued training, Hudson is going to make an incredible companion ~ loyal, fun, and always ready to hit the trail! If you’re looking for a smart, high-energy adventure buddy with a big heart and even bigger paws, Hudson might be your guy! Hudson is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Requires: -Herding breed experienced home -Large fenced yard outside the city -Another playful dog in the home her size or larger Keira is a 2 year old, 50lb Border Collie who is looking for her perfect home. She takes a while to trust, but is loyal to her people once she does. Keira is fearful of people and does not easily trust. She can be skittish and is a flight risk if not contained properly. She will build trust with her people after a period of time spent together and trust building, but she is not a ‘people’ dog with new people. She is definitely a dog's dog. She prefers to be with her dog friends and spends her days out in a play yard with 5-7 other dogs. Keira will need a home that understands and is ok with the fact she is not a super lovey dog that will want human attention all the time. Keira will do best in an adult only home that is patient in building her trust and ok with her being aloof and doing her own thing at times. She is well mannered and does great hanging out in a fenced yard with her dog friends. She is super active and loves to run around in her current large play yard with other dogs. Keira will thrive in a home with a large fenced yard outside of the city. She is not an apartment/condo/townhome dog. Keira requires at least one other dog around her size in the home, and herding breed experience. She would thrive in a more rural setting with a large fenced yard. Keira is UTD on shots, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.
