Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. Application Review - 12/29/2025 Animal Profile: Bindi is a 11 week old Poodle/Border Collie X (best guess) who will be joining us on Monday 12/15/2025 and is eagerly awaiting her freedom ride to the Pacific Northwest. She is ready to steal hearts, spread joy and find the forever family she deserves. She is great with the 2 big dogs and children in her foster home in Texas . We will post more about here as we get to know her. Foster Update: Bindi is the cutest puppy! She’s also happy, confident, and sweet. She’s demonstrating excellent house training skills for her age and is reasonably good settling in her crate at night. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is happy to share her toys or food. And she quickly learned how to Sit, Spin, and navigate stairs What’s not to love? If you’re looking for a lazy pup, that isn’t Bindhi. She likes to play hard and then crash for a little while… and then resume. It helps if she has cooperative playmates, or some toys and human attention. A fenced yard is also helpful. She is smart and surprisingly comfortable exploring new things and places. As she grows up, she’ll need training, exercise, and engagement activities. But if you’re looking for a sweet, adorable, fun pup that will grow into an active mid-sized family member, Bindhi could be a great candidate. Laurel came to us from a high kill shelter in CA as a stray. She can be fearful in new situations and will thrive in a home that can provide consistency and help her build confidence and trust. Once she knows you she is very affectionate and loving! Laurel feels much more confident with other dogs around, and would do best in a forever home that has a dog companion for her. She is not tested with cats, and due to her fearfulness at this time, we are looking for a home without children. Laurel would love a home with a fenced yard for her to run and play!
