Their owner moved out so these girls are now living alone, to be checked on and fed once or twice per day. WE DESPERATELY NEED FOSTER for a few weeks, so we can get them out before they are handed over to animal control next Tuesday, March 28. In a few weeks we can have them spayed and then they can find a forever home. They do not need to go together, but it would be so wonderful if they could! . Sophie is the black / white border collie mix. She is VERY sweet and affectionate. She is approx 7yrs old and weighs about 50lbs. Molly is her little girl. This beautiful brindle girl has an AmStaff daddy. She is also very friendly. She is about 3 yrs old and weighs about 60 lbs. She’s a bit more energetic so lots of running around during outside playtime is required. Sophie walks great on a leash. Molly needs a little work. Both girls are fully house trained and can stay home alone for a reasonable amount of hours. They get along fine with other dogs and cats, but a home for just the two of them would be ideal. They must have a 6ft securely fenced yard. Tommy was found wandering the streets of Ensenada, dirty, full of ticks, very thin and with mange, but the most shocking thing was the tumor hanging from his groin, approximately 15cm in diameter. At the vet's office it was more feasible to amputate his penis and remove the tumor that was rooted to it, however we made the fight to not have to amputate it, and he was given about 15 chemotherapies so that the tumor reached 4 cm in diameter and could be removed. He only needed 2 more chemo treatments and today he is ready for his new home! He is a VERY loyal, loving dog, and is always by your side, looking for cuddles, affection and loves to be kissed. He is a dog that even though he doesn't get along well with other males, he is good with females and puppies, although sometimes he is a little grumpy, he prefers the tranquility and the company of humans. He always has a scolding face! We guess it's his way of blackmailing us to give him treats, haha. But he is one of the cutest dogs we have in the shelter, he has certainly won our hearts. He is an excellent traveler, he knows perfectly well how to ride in a car, and he loves walks, seeing new places and above all, sleeping in a big bed at the end of the day. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transportation to Rowland Heights, Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation. The transportation fee is around $150.

Brownie is a 10-month-old, 33-pound dog full of energy, love, and curiosity about the world. She loves to be around you and she is very social with adults, children, and other dogs. Although she is somewhat rough to play with, she usually gets along with most dogs (if the others tolerate her, of course). He loves to go for a walk and see new places, play with ropes, and he loves to jump very high to climb on things (washing machine, dryer, his house...) And he likes to spend more time indoors with you, waiting for pampering, prizes, and lots of hugs, she is a very loving, loyal girl, and despite the fact that she is somewhat gross, she is the most affectionate little girl you will ever meet, and she will fill your days with joy. Sylvie is an extremely smart and sweet puppy, who has picked up cues and training signals extremely fast. However, she is deaf and needs an experienced owner who knows what this entails. She is 11 weeks old and up-to-date on her shots. She loves playing and is already very good at keeping herself busy with toys, but will get into mischief if left unattended! She would do amazing in a house with another dog to take cues from, or an owner that can give her a lot of love and attention. Currently, she is being trained with a vibration collar and has reacted and worked well with it in combination with hand signals.

Simo was found in Pullman Washington and came to us from the Seattle Humane Society. He is a lovely, cuddly boy who wants to say "hi" to everyone. He loves to walk in long grass, where he delicately nibbles the tips of the longest blades. Unfortunately we are apartment dwellers and not able to give him the off-leash outdoor space he loves and needs. Simo is a mix of two intelligent working breeds, Border Collie and Blue Heeler. He is very energetic and smart, and we have been working on some basic tricks (sit, paw, beg) and heeling techniques with him. The third breed in his mix is the reason he is currently not allowed off leash: Alaskan Husky. This is where, we think, he gets his prey drive (which we are also working on). He is getting better at not being hypnotized by squirrels and rabbits, but we are still cautious around small dogs and cats. We have not seen him playing with children, but he plays very gently with us and is very friendly to strangers.

Meet Toby! This handsome boy was rescued at the 11th hour from euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter to no fault of his own and we are relieved he is ours! He will be a year old by the end of May. He is a cattle dog, blue heeler mix, and gorgeous!  His eyes tell it all, he is a bit nervous about the world yet but has soo much love to give his people. He is funny, smart, and really sweet. He loves to play and explore, so a home with a yard is what he would so love. He likes to learn and is food motivated. Toby loves to go for walks, and is learning not to pull as hard (we have tips!) and wants to know that you are there for him. He will be there for you! He is nervous around young kids and does like to play with dogs from medium to large with proper introduction. A pal is fun for him. No cats are preferred. Toby is vaccinated, chipped, and will be neutered.
