Story
Hi, I’m Annie Mae! I’m a total rockstar — a social butterfly with higher energy who would happily run all day if you let me. I’m crazy smart and could easily be trained for agility, sports, or even service work. I’m potty trained, leash trained, dog friendly, and great with kids. I LOVE balls and playtime, and I thrive when I have a job or activity to keep my mind busy. If you want an energetic, intelligent, and playful companion who will keep you on your toes, I’m the one! Before coming here, I had quite the journey. I arrived with eight puppies and was severely malnourished, having clearly put everything she had into caring for her babies. The man who brought me in handled me roughly, but despite that, I have remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. My resilience and loving nature really shine through, and I’m ready for a future where I get to be cared for just as much as I care for others. I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Every adoption through the SPCA of Brazoria County also come with a PetSmart adoption kit, and some coupons for PetCo! Our first meeting/interview for adoption occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Apply to adopt me at https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/BRAZ/27759-long-distance-adopt-app. If you have questions, please email jami@spcabc.org.

Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Story
BEST WAY TO INQUIRE, EMAIL CONTACT@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG Montana is an affectionate 4-year-old Lab/Pit mix who’s ready to be your loyal companion for life. This sweet girl is a fetch fanatic who lives for playtime and loves nothing more than chasing balls with her favorite humans. She’s both treat and toy motivated and ready to learn new tricks. Montana gets along fine with other dogs, but she’s truly a people-focused pup who wants to be your number-one play partner. On a recent Doggie Day Out adventure, she proved to be a calm car passenger and a wonderful trail companion. She enjoys sniffy walks and likes to lead the way without pulling on the leash. Though Montana can be a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly with patience (and a few tasty treats). Once she feels comfortable, she enjoys gentle petting and cuddle time with her friends. If you can toss a tennis ball, you’re already in her inner circle! Montana was placed on final because shelter life has become overwhelming for her. Repeated encounters with unfamiliar people reaching into her kennel have left her feeling uneasy, and she may growl or show her teeth to ask for space. But outside the kennel, Montana’s true personality shines—sweet, playful, and full of love. Montana will thrive in a calm, patient home that gives her time to decompress and build trus ##2599337##

Story
Animal Information:  Meet Brownie! She is a 2 year old, 29 lb female Border Collie mix (best guess) who joined us from California, along with her 3 12-week-old puppies on 06/11/2026. When our rescue partner reached out to us about the puppies, we couldn't leave mom behind.  Foster Profile: Brownie is a special gem of a girl, looking for that special gem of a family. Brownie is an incredible pup! She has stolen our hearts-- she's smart, wants to please and is great with our resident dogs. She is Such a love bug! She's potty trained and crate trained though we are working on her "feelings" about being crated and she's coming along-- no apartments considered for this reason. She couldn't be more affectionate-- regularly sitting to ask for pets and climbing into our laps to be a little lap dog. She does need to build her confidence as she is still a little skittish on walks (we can tie you pointers/advice on how to be her best  leader ).Shes a terrific jogging companion and is looking for an active family . Anyone who adopts sweet Brownie is seriously lucky! PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our app can be found at haydudeequine.org 🐾 Sven is a 2-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix weighing in at a handsome 53 pounds. He has the perfect combination of sweet and playful—calm and gentle around the house, but always ready for fun when it's time to play. Sven is the kind of dog who wins hearts wherever he goes. He's incredibly gentle, wonderful with kids, and has a loving personality that makes him an easy companion. He gets along well with cats too, although he may occasionally try to convince them to play like they're fellow dogs! His favorite toy is his yellow ducky pull toy, and if you're looking for the quickest way to become his best friend, give him scratches on his lower tummy or thighs. He'll happily melt into a puddle of appreciation. Sven came from a farm, and while he doesn't necessarily need acreage, he would thrive in a home with people to shower him with attention and affection. More than anything, Sven wants to be part of the family and included in all of life's adventures. If you're looking for an amazing, gentle, goofy best friend who is equal parts cuddle bug and playmate, Sven may be the perfect match for you.

Story
Ronney is a teddy bear he literally melts into hugs and cuddles. Never barks, very well-mannered and trained. He is extremely intelligent - taught himself how to open doors and picks up tricks fast. Low energy level just loves sitting outside and observing the world or cuddling up on the couch. A home with no kids or older kids would be ideal as he has never lived with kids before. Would be best in a single dog family or with another smaller calm dog. He gets a bit defensive / nipping with bigger or high energy dogs. He is extremely sensitive to loud noise i.e. (car backfiring, fire alarm, etc.) this can make him very anxious. He can get nippy around strangers when nervous. Fine in either apt or home. We adopted him from a shelter almost 9 years ago and have adored him. However, we are expecting our first child and are wary of how he will handle the transition and all the noise. He is the sweetest most well-behaved dog I've ever seen minus his anxiety. Will be 12 in November.
