Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Dog video: https://youtube.com/shorts/Qob9_pTe_jQ Cat in video: https://youtube.com/shorts/VC2qRKqs0p8?feature=share Snuggle time: https://youtu.be/Uo3TkspW3NQ Animal Information: Sunny is a 1–2 year old Border Collie/Shepherd mix weighing about 55 pounds. She is a healthy, happy young dog with a wonderful temperament. Sunny has a nice energy level; she’s active enough to enjoy walks and playtime but not overly hyper. She has very soft fur and an affectionate personality. Sunny loves being close to her people and will happily lay her head on your chest for cuddles, along with plenty of sweet kisses. Sunny is crate trained, house trained, and does well on leash. She is quiet, enjoys being around people, and settles nicely in the home. She may still need a little help learning to give clearer cues when she needs to go outside, but she is already doing very well. She gets along great with other animals and is currently living with three cats and two large dogs in her foster home without any issues.  Foster Profile: Sunny is an absolute gem! She has been a wonderful sweet loving pup  who is slow to warm-- initially shy but fairly quickly becomes friendly which is very typical of her breed mix . She is curious and gentle around people and currently curious about other dogs from a distance. Sunny is Very energetic, typical of her breed and currently goes on two to three hours of walks each day-- she would love an active family who hikes or runs and is also willing to maybe engage her brain with agility or flyable or barn hunt or sheep herding-- tiring her out will include engaging her brain, nit just her muscles. Breed experience is a must. she enjoys playing in the house and is a lovely leaner and paw giver when seeking attention. She does have an off switch, but she's a fast recharge. Sunny does well in her crate and understands it as a safe space. Sunny is not very vocal in terms of barking, but has a brief whimper initially when left at home. She needs time to warm up to you on her own or she may give a low growl to let you know to give her a moment. Sunny is working on her leash manners and will need continued guidance in this area and we are working on it. o far, Sunny rides very well in the car and is calm while occasionally looking out the window. Sunny knows sit and of and give paw, and se also responds well to hand signals. Sunny seeks attention and enjoys snuggling and being close and could use some training on How To Chill. She will need structure and activities, because she is a smart cookie.                                                                                                              Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  March 7, 2026, 12:47 pm

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Fenton is an approximately 5-year-old, Border Collie/McNab mix weighing about 47 pounds (and still filling out after coming to us a bit skinny). He came from an overcrowded CA shelter and is recovering from a leg injury that has been healing well. This handsome boy is as sweet as they come—gentle, patient, and absolutely adores people. He’s done well with children he’s met and loves saying hello to everyone (he even enjoyed meeting all the trick-or-treaters on Halloween!). Fenton is house-trained, walks well on leash, and is a total fetch fanatic. He loves toys, hikes, and all kinds of adventures, but also knows how to relax and enjoy a good cuddle or nap once playtime’s over. Fenton gets along well with other dogs and would love a playful canine companion—preferably one who can help set healthy boundaries, since he can be a bit pushy at times. He would do best in a home without cats. We’re looking for a home with herding breed experience that can keep his mind and body active, continue helping him finish his recovery, and give him the full, happy life he deserves. He is definitely a dog that loves having something to do! If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate dog who’s ready for all of life’s adventures, Fenton might just be your perfect match! Fenton is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Enzo! Enzo is a 5.5-year-old, 35 lb Border Collie/McNab mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter and has been absolutely thriving in foster care! This incredibly smart, affectionate boy is the total package for someone who understands and appreciates herding breeds. Enzo is sweet, loving, and deeply loyal to his people, with a fun, playful personality that keeps life interesting. Enzo has made amazing progress in foster care. He is both crate trained and house trained, and with patience and guidance, he has even learned to love cats! He does great with other dogs after a proper introduction and enjoys having canine friends around. He’s an active, adventurous guy who loves to get out and do things—he’s even gone backcountry skiing! Whether it’s hiking, exploring, or playing fetch (one of his all-time favorite games), Enzo is always ready to join in. He also loves tug-of-war, snacks like apples, and lounging on his back with his legs straight up—his quirky personality is part of his charm. Enzo is highly trained and eager to keep learning. He already knows commands like sit, down, shake, roll over, and spin, and he thrives on continued training and mental stimulation. Puzzle toys, nose work, trick training—this is a dog who needs to use his brain as much as his body. He’s also been working on off-leash skills and is progressing well with the right guidance. Because of his intelligence and drive, Enzo will do best with an adopter who has herding breed experience and understands the importance of structure, consistency, and engagement. When his needs are met, Enzo is incredibly affectionate, loyal, and a joy to be around. He forms strong bonds and will be a devoted companion to his person. If you’re looking for a smart, fun, and adventurous dog then Enzo might just be your perfect match! Enzo is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.
