Story
Meet Mustang! His name might sound wild, but he's actually a super mellow dog roaming free at the rescue. He's really friendly and loves people. He does fine with other dogs and mostly ignores them--he doesn't seem too interested in playing yet. He absolutely loves the water pools we have, and he loves to go on walks. He definitely needs exercise and mental stimulation to be happy and healthy in his forever home. He's about 18 months old and weighs about 40 pounds. We believe Mustang is house trained, and he has good house manners. If you're looking for a friendly, chill pup, he's your guy!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or $200 for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.June 2, 2023, 7:40 am

* KRAKEN CALENDAR FEATURE DOG * Yes, Ellie is in the 2023 Kraken Calendar with Buoy! Animal Profile: Ellie is an estimated 2-year-old female mixed breed (her paperwork says Border Collie but we think McNab possibly with lab or pittie) who was rescued as a stray on the streets of Texas. She currently weighs about 50 lbs. Seattle Foster Update: Ellie is a very fun loving and affectionate dog who is adjusting well to foster care. She has not met a stranger and enjoys pets, belly rubs, and playing fetch with all people. She loves to do zoomies and is so funny when she runs at full speed -- she makes the funniest faces! She is super smart and food motivated which is helpful with training, but she also lacks impulse control (wants to do everything at 110%) so she will need a structured home that can set and consistently enforce boundaries such as being calm coming out of the crate and going through doorways, walking in a structured heel on a training collar, and practicing place in the house. (She is staying in "place" for over an hour at a time, except for when there's some big distraction.) Ellie now has a good foundation and knows loose leash walking with a confident handler, and is crate trained. All she needs is the right home. Ellie loves car rides and playing tug. She is quiet and content in her crate. She loves to play with other dogs but has a rude play style so would do best with a tolerant playful dog in the home, or as the only dog. She has lived with cats in the past but does need a lot of management with them so would do best without cats in the home as well. While she is friendly with children, older kids would be best due to Ellie's size and general enthusiasm for life. Adopter Profile:  Large dog experience required Other tolerant dogs considered No cats preferred Older kids OK Fenced yard required Ability to continue with training Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $500, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: Ellie joined us from our Texas rescue partner on February 16, 2022. She was fostered in the greater Seattle area and adopted and then many months later returned for being "out of control;" she had not been trained. She is currently in a training savvy foster home and doing great. She is available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. June 2, 2023, 9:54 am

Story
Disclaimer: I am located in Texas. I can be transported once adopted. Transport fee is $230.I was surrendered along with my 4 puppies because my family could not take care of me. I am an amazing jumper and have lots of energy. My foster mom thinks I would be amazing at agility training courses . I do not like to be by myself, so a home with a calmer dog would help settle me. I am good with other dogs but also love my humans. I am still a puppy at heart. I was raised with 3 children aged 8-16 so I would do well with an energetic family.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Animal Profile: Eclipse is an approximately 4.5 month old male border collie mix that joined us from Bakersfield in California. He is very sweet and gets along with all dogs and people.  Foster Update: Are you looking for a running buddy? Or someone to play frisbee with? Or maybe even a parkour partner? Then I have the dog for you! Meet Eclipse, an adorable little guy who is up for any adventure you might have in mind. He’s super smart, extremely agile and very fast. Even though he is a very active dog, he also likes to chill at your feet and have a snooze while you read or watch TV. Eclipse is super friendly with dogs and people. He’s potty trained (still has the occasional accident). He is mastering walking on a leash and staying at your side, he does not pull. He is still learning some basic commands. He’s a very talented pup and he loves to dance! This little sweetheart is very affectionate, loyal and protective. Due to his breed and given how agile he is, a home with a fenced yard would be best. He would make a wonderful addition to any home.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia in Bakersfield California.June 2, 2023, 9:54 am
