Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Meet Nymera! 🐺 Her name, Nymera, means “noble” — a fitting name for such a strong and graceful soul. (It’s pronounced nih-MEER-ee-uh.) This gorgeous girl was found stray near the border of Mexico, and the moment her rescuer opened the car door, she hopped right in as if she knew her new life was about to begin. Nymera is about 1 year old, weighs 30 pounds, and is a Border Collie mix with a heart as big as her smile. She’s affectionate, intelligent, and social — she loves everyone she meets and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She has that classic Border Collie sparkle — alert, eager to please, and full of gentle energy — but what makes her truly special is her sweet, trusting nature after all she’s been through. ✨ Nymera is ready to lead her own happily-ever-after — could it be with you?

Story
Meet Cici! 💛 This beautiful girl has already been through far more than any dog should. When her former owner was seen kicking her, some kind strangers stepped in to save her. They cared for her the best they could, but after being evicted, they reached out for help—and that’s how sweet Cici landed with us. After everything she’s been through, Cici can be a little unsure at first, but she doesn’t have a single mean bone in her body. Once she realizes you’re safe, she melts into the sweetest, most loving companion. She truly blossoms with kindness and gentle reassurance. Cici is about 2 years old, weighs 25 pounds, and looks like a darling border collie/terrier mix. She’s ready for a home where she’ll finally know what it feels like to be cherished. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who just wants to love and be loved, Cici is waiting for you.

Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with his day care owners, and doing well there. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  October 31, 2025, 2:54 pm

Story
Panda is a very playful dog. She is the sort of dog that doesn’t let other dogs play. She is smart and eager to please. A lot of work has gone into rehabilitating her after she was abused as a puppy. She is crate trained. The reason that she has to find a home where she can be the only pet is because she doesn’t listen to boundaries that the other pets in the house lay down, and there is concern for that leading to injuries.

Story
Mylo is a 5.5-year-old Border Collie/Australian Kelpie mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, an endearing personality, and an enthusiasm for life. He`s a smart, affectionate guy who`s ready to be your running partner, loyal copilot riding shotgun, and best friend.Mylo thrives with activity and loves having a job to do-whether that`s going for walks, solving puzzle toys, or learning new tricks (which he picks up quickly!). He loves being brushed and doesn`t chew on anything except his own toys. He forms deep bonds with his people and is happiest when he`s part of the action. After some play or exercise, he`s all about the couch snuggles and quiet companionship. He even has some adorable quirks-like getting excited every time you use a pen! Here`s a little video to show you what me mean! https://youtube.com/shorts/WVEn12m8HIY?feature=shareMylo would love a home where his intelligence and loyalty are appreciated, and where he can continue learning and having fun. Story
Meet Quarry - URGENT FOSTER NEEDED! We'd love to get him into a loving home ASAP and we also need to make some moves in which dogs are where, so we're hoping someone will step up to take this guy in! Quarry is one of five young Aussie pups we rescued from a puppy mill situation in Eastern WA. Like the others, he suffered porcupine quill injuries—but his were the worst we’ve ever seen. This poor boy even had quills down his throat. When we found him, Quarry was starving, in pain, and desperately pawing at his face to try to escape the agony. It broke our hearts. The good news? He’s been to the vet, the quills are gone, and he’s on the road to recovery. At the rescue kennel, he’s started taking food from our hands (pill pockets are his favorite!). But Quarry is still very shy—understandable after the trauma he’s endured. Now we need your help. Quarry needs a patient foster home with no cats, where he can finally leave the kennel behind, learn to trust again, and discover what it means to be safe and loved. If you can open your heart and home to this sweet, gentle soul, please fill out a foster application today at RedWagginRescue.org The sooner we find him a foster, the sooner he can heal—inside and out. *************************************************************** ADOPTION INFO Dog adoption fees include: - All Basic Dog Vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (Up to $400) - Neuter (Up to $300) - Microchip & Registration All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue. Story
Meet Santina aka Sadie! Santina is a 2 1/2 year old smart, sweet and loving girl. She is great at home and very well behaved. Loves to have family and friends come for visits encouraging all to participate in her weakness for a good tummy rub. Her ideal day is running around a large fenced area chasing a ball and playing hide and seek in a field. She does better in a quiet neighborhood where she can get her exercise playing in your big backyard. She will need more help with leash walks in busy areas. She will probably do best as the only dog in a household. Being a Blue Heeler mix, she is a devoted companion who loves to please and is eager to sit, stay, wait, lie down, heel, and come when you call for a yummy treat. Story
Meet Beanz! Beanz is a newer addition to our rescue, but she’s already stealing hearts! For two long years, she survived in the fields of Eastern WA, living off workers’ lunches to get by. A kind woman finally took her in and helped her find her way to us. In her temporary foster home, Beanz has shown she’s social, affectionate, and smart. She’s great with people, good with other dogs, and even lived briefly with a bunny and a cat—doing well with both. She’s house-trained, knows basic commands, comes when called, and loves the outdoors. She’s not a big fan of the crate, but her gentle nature makes her a joy to be around. Unfortunately, her current foster can only keep her for a short time. Beanz also needs a foster who can help her through upcoming medical care—she has a luxating patella and will need an FHO surgery on her hip from an old injury. If you can give Beanz a safe, loving place to heal, please fill out a foster application today at RedWagginRescue.org. With your help, this sweet girl can get the care she needs and the love she’s always deserved. ****************************************************************** ADOPTION INFO Dog adoption fees include: - All Basic Dog Vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (Up to $400) - Neuter (Up to $300) - Microchip & Registration All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue.
