Story
Hi, I’m Annie Mae! I’m a total rockstar — a social butterfly with higher energy who would happily run all day if you let me. I’m crazy smart and could easily be trained for agility, sports, or even service work. I’m potty trained, leash trained, dog friendly, and great with kids. I LOVE balls and playtime, and I thrive when I have a job or activity to keep my mind busy. If you want an energetic, intelligent, and playful companion who will keep you on your toes, I’m the one! Before coming here, I had quite the journey. I arrived with eight puppies and was severely malnourished, having clearly put everything she had into caring for her babies. The man who brought me in handled me roughly, but despite that, I have remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. My resilience and loving nature really shine through, and I’m ready for a future where I get to be cared for just as much as I care for others. I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Every adoption through the SPCA of Brazoria County also come with a PetSmart adoption kit, and some coupons for PetCo! Our first meeting/interview for adoption occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Apply to adopt me at https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/BRAZ/27759-long-distance-adopt-app. If you have questions, please email jami@spcabc.org.

Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  September 13, 2026, 6:38 pm

Story
Muchacho is a young (1.5-2 YO approx.) mixed medium boy (last weighed 44 lbs, now 45-55 lbs.), with a brindle coat and the sweetest brown eyes. He is house-trained (up to 6 hours free-bird, up to 8 in crate), potty-trained, knows Sit, Paw (Shakes Hand), is working on Wait (Stay) and Gentle (touch nose, not grab with teeth). He is VERY food-motivated, a lapdog, a sous chef. Muchacho loves the girls, the gays and the theys, and warms up to the he/hims slowly. He loves to be by your side at all times, separation makes him anxious. He is a big nippy thief, of socks and shoes and kitchen towels and pillows, even if they are too big to carry. He loves playing with balls, tug of war, and destroying even the toughest toys. He is super friendly to other dogs when not on leash, is loving daycare and dog parks. He is a handsome boy who needs a companion with more time, energy, and dedication to his training. My ex surrendered Chacho to me to rehome to a more fitting household after he left WA.

Story
Boo is genuinely one of the sweetest dogs you’ll meet. He’s surprisingly mellow for a Border Collie, incredibly affectionate, and loves cuddling and being around his people. He loves people, kids, dogs, and cats, and he’s very gentle around smaller animals. He doesn’t bark at other pets or people, is crate trained, does great on walks, and rides well in the car. Boo’s biggest challenge is separation anxiety. He becomes distressed and may bark for extended periods when left alone, so he needs someone who is home most of the time and willing to continue working with him on this. Because of this, I don’t think apartment living is the right environment for him. A house or townhome, ideally in a quieter area, would be a much better fit. Background check mandatory.

Story
Meet Quarry - URGENT FOSTER NEEDED! We'd love to get him into a loving home ASAP and we also need to make some moves in which dogs are where, so we're hoping someone will step up to take this guy in! Quarry is one of five young Aussie pups we rescued from a puppy mill situation in Eastern WA. Like the others, he suffered porcupine quill injuries—but his were the worst we’ve ever seen. This poor boy even had quills down his throat. When we found him, Quarry was starving, in pain, and desperately pawing at his face to try to escape the agony. It broke our hearts. The good news? He’s been to the vet, the quills are gone, and he’s on the road to recovery. At the rescue kennel, he’s started taking food from our hands (pill pockets are his favorite!). But Quarry is still very shy—understandable after the trauma he’s endured. Now we need your help. Quarry needs a patient foster home with no cats, where he can finally leave the kennel behind, learn to trust again, and discover what it means to be safe and loved. If you can open your heart and home to this sweet, gentle soul, please fill out a foster application today at RedWagginRescue.org The sooner we find him a foster, the sooner he can heal—inside and out. *************************************************************** ADOPTION INFO Dog adoption fees include: - All Basic Dog Vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (Up to $400) - Neuter (Up to $300) - Microchip & Registration All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue. Story
Meet Santina aka Sadie! Santina is a 2 1/2 year old smart, sweet and loving girl. She is great at home and very well behaved. Loves to have family and friends come for visits encouraging all to participate in her weakness for a good tummy rub. Her ideal day is running around a large fenced area chasing a ball and playing hide and seek in a field. She does better in a quiet neighborhood where she can get her exercise playing in your big backyard. She will need more help with leash walks in busy areas. She will probably do best as the only dog in a household. Being a Blue Heeler mix, she is a devoted companion who loves to please and is eager to sit, stay, wait, lie down, heel, and come when you call for a yummy treat. Story
Meet Beanz! Beanz is a newer addition to our rescue, but she’s already stealing hearts! For two long years, she survived in the fields of Eastern WA, living off workers’ lunches to get by. A kind woman finally took her in and helped her find her way to us. In her temporary foster home, Beanz has shown she’s social, affectionate, and smart. She’s great with people, good with other dogs, and even lived briefly with a bunny and a cat—doing well with both. She’s house-trained, knows basic commands, comes when called, and loves the outdoors. She’s not a big fan of the crate, but her gentle nature makes her a joy to be around. Unfortunately, her current foster can only keep her for a short time. Beanz also needs a foster who can help her through upcoming medical care—she has a luxating patella and will need an FHO surgery on her hip from an old injury. If you can give Beanz a safe, loving place to heal, please fill out a foster application today at RedWagginRescue.org. With your help, this sweet girl can get the care she needs and the love she’s always deserved. ****************************************************************** ADOPTION INFO Dog adoption fees include: - All Basic Dog Vaccinations - Rabies - Bordetella - Flea & Tick Treatment - Spay (Up to $400) - Neuter (Up to $300) - Microchip & Registration All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs and cats in our rescue.
