Story
Meet Bada🩵 (It means sea in Korean) At the end of June 2022, Bada was admitted to the shelter with a fractured front leg. Bandaged in the hot weather, his wound attracted flies, and upon examination after rescue, his bones were misaligned, requiring a second surgery. Now, his bones have healed well, and he is happily running around without any issues. 😊 * Interaction with People : Bada is extremely fond of people. He's a sweetheart to humans, always greeting them with a big smile, which is so adorable. ❤ * Interaction with Dogs: He can be assertive towards dogs who play rough, so caution is needed. Tends to avoid encountering dogs with whom he had a clash at the Center. * Potty Training: He's been doing outdoor potty at the Center. * Hygiene: He's cooperative with ear cleaning and doesn't resist. However, he might whine when getting his nails trimmed as he's not used to it, so regular walks to grind his nails are necessary. * Walking: He follows people without pulling on the leash. Sometimes, he may resist going where he doesn't want to, but with leash training, he'll likely improve quickly. * Car Sickness: He's fine in the car and doesn't experience motion sickness at all! 💌Special Notes💌 * Separation anxiety and toilet training are still unknown as he's been living in a group at the center. * He rarely barks unnecessarily, but sometimes, he may bark alertly at external noises. He stops when called. * Bada enjoys being with people and receiving love while resting, so a place where he can receive undivided attention would be ideal. ☺️ He also enjoys his alone time when needed!

Story
Meet Rown🖤🤍 *Toward people: Loves people very very much! Although he experienced lots of accidents and has tragic memories about his past, he is a human-loving dog who shows lots and lots of love and affection! *Toward dogs: Is an energetic dog who loves playing with dog friends. Small dogs may be afraid of him sometimes due to his upbeat personality, but he can become a gentle dog by training him to control his excitement! *Separation anxiety: Unknown as he is staying at the center. *Potty training: Only outdoor potties at the center. *Hygiene: Has not experienced proper hygiene care yet as he is recovering/ getting treatments after his surgery, but he took hygiene-related care very well before surgery! ☺️ *Walking: Enjoys walking, but needs training as he may get hyper-excited. *Car-sickness: Rides cars very well without carsickness! 🖤Rescue Story🤍 Rown was rescued from the streets. He urgently needed surgery as he ate stones and screws. His legs were also injured probably due to the tough street environment, so he also had leg surgery and is currently recovering well. Rown is looking for a forever family that can give him lots of love and help make him healthy again! 🙏🏻 💌Special Notes💌 *Is undergoing rehabilitation after his ankle surgery, but has recovered a lot and walks well now! He may need to receive continuous rehabilitation therapy. Completed ankle fracture surgery

Story
Personality: Friendly and easily trainable. Curious like a puppy and not easily excited by other animals (dogs, birds, cats, etc.). Enjoys playing and has a good appetite. Interactions with Women: Licks and wags tail when seeing them, and allows them to pet and cuddle. Interactions with Men: Runs up to them and asks for attention. Sociable with both men and women. Interactions with Children: Shows belly when touched and licks their faces. Interactions with Other Dogs: Approaches and plays with them without hesitation. However, if the other dog shows signs of discomfort, immediately stops and walks away. Very perceptive. Interactions with Cats: Showed no interest in a cat encountered during a walk. Followed the signal to move on without hesitation. Complete Toilet Training: Knew to use the puppy pad right away. Currently 100% successful. Complete Crate Training: Not afraid to go into the crate. Initially whines when the door is closed, but soon waits quietly. Energy Level: After a little over an hour of walking, flopped down on the way back home. Still a puppy, so gets tired quickly with extended outdoor activities. Plays fairly calmly indoors. Comfort with Being Handled: Enjoys being touched and responds well to training with treats. Tendency to Bark: Occasionally barks when demanding something or when nervous. Tendency to Run Away: So far, no tendency to run away. Comes when called and follows well with other dogs. Appetite Issues: Has a good appetite, but no issues. Current Food: Royal Canin Puppy. Walking with a Leash: Initially resisted wearing the leash, but as soon as we went outside, happily trotted along, even if the leash got tangled. Reaction to People or Dogs on Leash: Not very interested. Comfortable in the Car: Sleeps or lies quietly in the crate during car rides. Doesn't experience motion sickness. Destructive Behavior: Tried to chew on a wooden table but was immediately stopped and redirected to play with a dog toy. So far, no destructive behavior. Need for a Yard: It would be nice to have a yard, but not a necessary requirement as long as there is a suitable environment for potty training and regular walks. Need to Live with Other Dogs: Would adapt well to living with other dogs who have good social skills. However, also suitable for living as the only dog due to sociable nature. Suitable for Apartment Living: Definitely suitable. Rescue Story: Olly was rescued from a puppy farm and has only lived in shelters since birth.

Story
Welcome Houdini to CCPAL foster program. Houdini is a young male that is 5 months old. He is 50% Border Collie and the other is Terrier. He has the coat and temperament of the Border Collie. He should be 45 pounds full grown. He currently is about 25 pounds. He lives with children and is around goats in his farm house foster home. He has long beautiful and shinny fur. He is attentive and knows sit, shake a paw and can walk on a leash. He is good in a car and friendly with his litter mates. He hasn’t been around any other dogs but his litter mates. They are all boys. Houdini is not the most dominant of the 3 pack. He has the striking looks of a Border Collie. We would love someone that knows and loves the breed to apply for Houdini. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 200 and transport is 600. He is healthy, vaccinated, neutered and ready for his forever home. He can be in a home with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Welcome Bear to CCPAL foster program. Bear is a young male that is 5 months old. He is 50% Border Collie and the other is Terrier. These puppies all love the water and would love a home that allows them to play in the water. He is the biggest of the 3 boys and a stronger personality. He is the most dominant of the 3 boys. He is outgoing and social and is slightly less attentive than his two brothers. He should be 50 pounds full grown. He currently is about 27 pounds. He lives with children and is around goats in his farm house foster home. He has long beautiful and shinny fur. He is knows sit and can walk on a leash. He is good in a car and friendly with his litter mates. He hasn’t been around any other dogs but his litter mates. They are all boys. He has the striking looks of a Border Collie. We would love someone that knows and loves the breed to apply for Bear or any in this litter. We think Bear has less of the Border Collie personality and more of the dad’s personality who was a Terrier. Meet Kip, the ultimate housemate! This adorable 3-year-old border collie shepherd mix is all about cuddles and playtime, but he's also really happy to peacefully snooze the day away until it's time to hang out. Kip’s favorite activities include lounging together with belly rubs (don't stop please), playing tug and frisbee at home and in the yard (he will absolutely let you win if it means you'll play another round), and showing off his impressive training skills (A+ student). Kip is a homebody at heart and prefers the comfort of familiar surroundings. He’s not a fan of trips or new places and might bark at strangers, but that just means he loves being with his family the most! He gets along well with other dogs and cats, though he might need a little time to warm up. Kip is super gentle with kids but would thrive in a calm and quiet household. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will fill your home with love and joy, Kip is your guy!

Story
Goose is an adorable 6 month old male pup who came to us from Yakima. He's a Border Collie Cattle Dog mix, so if you love the herding breeds, Goose might be the perfect pup for you. He sleeps and eats in his crate and is fully potty trained. Right now he's being fostered in a home with older dogs and doing great, even though they don't have the play energy he does. :) Goose gets very attached to his person and loves to be with that person, but goes into his crate with ease when breaks are needed. His herding instinct can come out around small humans and their quick movements, so he will probably do best in a home with teens and without cats. He is super playful and fun in a fenced back yard, and he is learning how to enjoy walks. All the big city noises take some getting used to, but with a patient, loving adopter, we have no doubt that Goose will be a great companion and family member who will love going on outdoor adventures. Please email us at rhas.adoptions@gmail.com if you would like to meet him. And please be patient. We have one adoption coordinator doing their best to coordinate adoptions for many pups. ================================================= WE DO NOT RESPOND TO AdoptaPet INQUIRIES OR PHONE CALLS, ONLY EMAILS. If you have any additional questions, or would like to adopt Goose, please send us an email at rhas.adoptions@gmail.com and we will send you an adopter survey. Please note that we are a foster to adopt only rescue. As a foster, you get to "test drive" your chosen dog to make sure it's a good fit prior to adoption. We want you and the dog to have the best fit possible! Story
Meet a timid lady Jinhee🩷 Jinhee was abandoned by a foreign worker. She used to hide in fear just from the sight of people’s hands. Even though she was facing the risk of euthanasia since she wasn’t used to being around humans, she's getting better now thanks to her foster family. Thanks to her foster who was understanding and patient for Jinhee, she now plays with people she trusts! Her days are being filled with more and more compliments. If you understand and wait for her, you will be able to see Jinhee’s ever growing love! ✨You need to approach her carefully because she can be surprised or uncomfortable with people who scream, or makes large gestures or actions. 💟 Personality / Characteristics * Keywords: #Charming #Timid #Mildtempered * Energy Level (1~10): Level 4 *Can be uncomfortable at doggy friends who actively and boldly come at her, but Jinhee can greet doggy friends coming slowly with a good manner! *Doesn’t particularly react to cats during her walking session. *Prefers a person who moves slowly and quietly than a person with a loud voice and moves too boldly!💗 *Jinhee who can be a calm girl even when she is playing with her foster can be more outgoing too! When her foster tosses the stuffed toy, she brings it to the foster and enjoys playing the tug play. *Can be uncomfortable when someone comes at her too actively and boldly.😭 Doesn’t like high-pitched, loud sounds. *Prefers walking with her foster and enjoying the surroundings than actively playing and running around with doggy friends. *Mostly rests during the daytime and becomes more active and plays in nighttime.❤️ *Can briefly bark on the sound of the door knock but doesn’t bark most of the time. *Doesn’t prefer bathing but she can patiently tolerate it. *No carsickness. *Tends to shed slightly but sheds more during shedding season! Jinhee favors her foster to brush her hair and getting cuddled and really loves her hair to be brushed more and often! *Mastered “Sit”, “Fighting”, “Kissing her foster”! *Jinhee’s favorites: Her foster and dog Churu snack. 💙 Foster account 👉🏻 @adogs_jinhee

Story
Meet Gyumi💗💗 * Interaction with people: Is shy and reserved. He smells people passing by and shows curiosity, but finds it awkward when they come close. He is not used to his foster family's touching yet, and hides in the corner when you try to touch him, but stays still if you actually touch him, and even follows if you go somewhere else. When he gets used to it, he opens himself up and eats snacks if you give him some. * Interaction with dogs: Is not comfortable with other dogs. Is scared of dogs who bark and run at him. With slowly-approaching dogs, he smells them face-to-face but soon turns away. * Interaction with cats: He shows uneasiness and wariness around cats, even during walks, where he tends to keep his distance. * Separate Anxiety : He spends time alone well. Sometimes, he lies down looking at the door, but soon goes to the bed and falls asleep! Wags his tail and welcomes you when you come back home. * Potty Training : Prefers100% outdoor potty! * Hygienic : He's still learning to become comfortable with bathing, grooming, and teeth brushing, but he tolerates them without mouthing. Gets scared and tries to run away at the sound of dryers, but so towel or fan (dryers very shortly if needed) is used to dry tim. * Walking : Walks in step with the walker and enjoys taking a walk! He's a bit afraid of the leash but waits patiently until it's put on. Is scared of cars or motorcycles. Prefers walking near the bush or where there are no people. * Car Sickness : Is okay with riding a car, and stays well in the car seat. May vomit on winding roads. 💌Special Notes💌 * Gyumi is getting used to his malformed bones after suffering a long-time fracture to his shoulder and back. As he has no issues in walking, the vet's opinion is that surgery is unnecessary. * He can take easy walks, but running or intense exercise is not allowed. * Mastered “sit” and has a big potential of learning other skills once he gets used to physical contact with people! 💟Health Status💟 * Neutered * Others: Microchipped, Completed heartworm treatment. * Even though having a dislocated left shoulder and shattered&stiffened right shoulder, he has no problem walking. However, it may hurt for him if he moves vigorously, so close observation is needed. * Has vision in his right eye but his left eye is blind. His fur is currently shaved off because his skin was not healthy. He scratches a bit, but it's getting much better and his dead skin cells are unseen now unlike before.
