Hi, I’m Annie Mae! I’m a total rockstar — a social butterfly with higher energy who would happily run all day if you let me. I’m crazy smart and could easily be trained for agility, sports, or even service work. I’m potty trained, leash trained, dog friendly, and great with kids. I LOVE balls and playtime, and I thrive when I have a job or activity to keep my mind busy. If you want an energetic, intelligent, and playful companion who will keep you on your toes, I’m the one! Before coming here, I had quite the journey. I arrived with eight puppies and was severely malnourished, having clearly put everything she had into caring for her babies. The man who brought me in handled me roughly, but despite that, I have remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. My resilience and loving nature really shine through, and I’m ready for a future where I get to be cared for just as much as I care for others. I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Every adoption through the SPCA of Brazoria County also come with a PetSmart adoption kit, and some coupons for PetCo! At the time, the shelter's conditions were so severely neglected that many animals were sadly starving to death. Adogs urgently stepped in to save Yeonhwa and bring her to safety. 3. Personality & Characteristics * With Humans: Tends to be shy and fearful. Barks with a bit of caution when a stranger comes into the house. When meeting someone outside or if a passerby approaches, she may give a soft warning growl initially, but has absolutely zero aggression. If you play with her using treats, she will quickly remember you and warm up! Once comfortable, she turns into a massive sweetheart who asks for pets and gives lots of kisses. * With Dogs: Approaches new dog friends with polite manners and generally feels more comfortable spending time one-on-one rather than in large groups. Gets nervous if dogs rush at her or if multiple dogs crowd around her at once. However, if no one is running at her, she roams around comfortably on her own. When a new dog visits her home, she will sniff them thoroughly, play with them, and get along nicely, even with younger puppies. * With Cats: Tends to chase cats when she encounters them in the yard or during walks. * Separation Anxiety: Stays by herself wonderfully without any signs of separation anxiety. * Potty Training: Does great with both indoor and outdoor potty habits! Reliably uses pee pads indoors, as well as going in the yard or during walks. * Grooming: While she doesn't love baths, blow-drying, or brushing, she tolerates them well. Tries to slip away during nail trims, but stays patient if you soothe her. Dislikes toothbrushing, but tolerates it well and her caretakers brush her teeth regularly every 2 to 3 days. * Walking: Used to pull on the leash when she wanted to sniff something, but her walking manners have improved significantly. However, extra caution is needed because she still has a tendency to chase after birds and cats. * Motion Sickness: Experiences car sickness and vomits on car rides lasting longer than 10 minutes. * Biting: Has never shown any biting behavior. * Barking: Barks and growls when strangers pass by the house or step inside. Also occasionally whines by the door when she wants to go out and play in the yard. * Personality & Preferences: While she carries a bit of initial caution and fear, she is a lively, mature, and independent girl. Meet Yogi! This wonderful boy has come so far! His story is amazing and we are so proud of him. Yogi was locked in a barn for the first year of his life. He never saw the sun, never touched grass, never got to meet people or other dogs. He was very shut down when he arrived and we have spent many months working with him. Slowly but surely Yogi has come out of his shell. For the past few months he has been fostered by our trainer Melissa and Yogi has made even more leaps and bounds. This boy is so so sweet, so gentle, so kind. You can't help but fall in love with him.  Here is what his trainer/foster has to say about Yogi: Yogi (AKA The Yog-Meister, Yogurt, and Yogis) is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet! At 3yrs of age, Yogi is young and energetic, requiring a fenced yard for his daily "morning run". He loves a good game of tug, works for praise, and finds physical touch to be his preferred love language.  Yogi is as loyal as they come - he puts a lot of trust into his handler and feels the most safe around them. Having been found abandoned in a horse barn, he requires someone who will be patient in guiding him when experiencing the world beyond a horse barn stall.  Yogi will do best with someone who is physically active or can meet his mental & physical needs, including someone who may be interested in participating in dog sports such as Treibball or herding trials.  Yogi co-exists peacefully with our resident dog, a 6yr female mix with moderate energy - they will take turns chasing each other in the yard, play tug, then relax in the living room together.  Yogi has a customized training plan for his walks due to the excitement he feels when cars pass - his innate drive to chase can take over in these moments.  This dear boy will do best in a home without young children. He is still easily startled. Meet Ahtty!   This affectionate boy is always ready to make a new friend—and hopefully find a family of his own!   Age: 3 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Border Collie mix Colour: Brown & white Weight: 15 kg / 33 lbs Shoulder height: 45 cm / 17.7 inches   Rescue Story Ahtty was rescued from a municipal shelter in May 2026. He currently lives at a rescue dog café in Korea, sharing his days with around 20 other dogs while waiting for his forever home.   With People Ahtty loves meeting people! When visitors arrive, he approaches them first, snuggles into them, and asks for pets. Loud voices may startle him, but he doesn’t typically retreat or run away.   His main caregiver is a man, and he is comfortable with men, although he seems especially drawn to female visitors. He can be picked up and held, and once he gets to know you, he’ll happily show you his belly!   With Other Dogs Ahtty is friendly with dogs of all sizes. He approaches both familiar and new dogs to say hello and invite them to play.   With Cats During a brief cat test, Ahtty showed interest without aggression. His experience with cats is limited, so gradual, supervised introductions would be needed.   Energy & Walks Ahtty has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and settles down to rest afterward. He tends to pull on the leash, but generally follows his handler well and would benefit from continued leash practice.   Other Habits • He has shown no food guarding toward people or other dogs. • He may bark to ask for something he wants. • He stays calm when placed in a kennel. • He currently uses both indoor pee pads and outdoor spaces for potty breaks. • He may mark in a new environment.
