Story
Mylo is a 5.5-year-old Border Collie/Australian Kelpie mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, an endearing personality, and an enthusiasm for life. He`s a smart, affectionate guy who`s ready to be your running partner, loyal copilot riding shotgun, and best friend.Mylo thrives with activity and loves having a job to do-whether that`s going for walks, solving puzzle toys, or learning new tricks (which he picks up quickly!). He loves being brushed and doesn`t chew on anything except his own toys. He forms deep bonds with his people and is happiest when he`s part of the action. After some play or exercise, he`s all about the couch snuggles and quiet companionship. He even has some adorable quirks-like getting excited every time you use a pen! Here`s a little video to show you what me mean! https://youtube.com/shorts/WVEn12m8HIY?feature=shareMylo would love a home where his intelligence and loyalty are appreciated, and where he can continue learning and having fun. If you`re ready for a devoted, clever companion with an endearing personality who`s always up for an adventure, Mylo might be your perfect match. The Seattle Animal Shelter is committed to reducing length of stay for all of our shelter pets! Story
Meet Yogi! This wonderful boy has come so far! His story is amazing and we are so proud of him. Yogi was locked in a barn for the first year of his life. He never saw the sun, never touched grass, never got to meet people or other dogs. He was very shut down when he arrived and we have spent many months working with him. Slowly but surely Yogi has come out of his shell. For the past few months he has been fostered by our trainer Melissa and Yogi has made even more leaps and bounds. This boy is so so sweet, so gentle, so kind. You can't help but fall in love with him.  Here is what his trainer/foster has to say about Yogi: Yogi (AKA The Yog-Meister, Yogurt, and Yogis) is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet! At 3yrs of age, Yogi is young and energetic, requiring a fenced yard for his daily "morning run". He loves a good game of tug, works for praise, and finds physical touch to be his preferred love language.  Yogi is as loyal as they come - he puts a lot of trust into his handler and feels the most safe around them. Having been found abandoned in a horse barn, he requires someone who will be patient in guiding him when experiencing the world beyond a horse barn stall.  Yogi will do best with someone who is physically active or can meet his mental & physical needs, including someone who may be interested in participating in dog sports such as Treibball or herding trials.  Yogi co-exists peacefully with our resident dog, a 6yr female mix with moderate energy - they will take turns chasing each other in the yard, play tug, then relax in the living room together.  Yogi has a customized training plan for his walks due to the excitement he feels when cars pass - his innate drive to chase can take over in these moments.  This dear boy will do best in a home without young children. He is still easily startled. A home with a secure yard is a must.  If you’re looking for your new best friend, Yogi would be so happy to share his love with you.  Yogi is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is sponsored by a kind supporter.  We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Cody is an absolute sweetheart and total cuddle bug who loves being close to his people. He’s happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s an active, outdoorsy pup who loves sunshine, playtime, and exploring the world around him. Cody is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. He is a perfect family companion. He’s house trained, leash trained, and can stay home alone without a problem. He’s also a wonderful running and adventure buddy for anyone who enjoys an active lifestyle. I would love to keep Cody, but I’m moving somewhere I can’t take him. My biggest wish is to see him go to a loving home where he’ll get all the cuddles, playtime, and adventures he deserves. He’s truly one of a kind.

Story
Sadie is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Sadie is 2 1/2 years old (December 1) and is possibly a Border Collie/Lab mix. -Come into the local shelter in Summer 2023 as a small puppy. Transferred to our rescue on June 7th -Just went through heartworm treatment and tested negative as of December 9th! -Used to be shy and timid....now she is well socialized and loves to get all of your attention and she's not afraid to ask for it! -Energetic breed who would love a nice yard to run in and a family to love on. -35-40 pounds. -Gets along with other dogs. Would do best in a home with another dog to play with. Does like to be the "alpha" with some females (never aggressive). Gets along great with males -She can walk on a leash, but it does need some work. -If home has kids, must be 10+ -Video of Sadie from December 1: https://youtube.com/shorts/idXhtmRwhwg Sadie is spayed, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), dewormed, microchipped, on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She had a negative heartworm test on December 9th. Health certificate and exam will be performed less than 10 days prior to transport. Story
Currently in a Toronto foster home I might be a mix, but I’ve got the best of both worlds — the smarts of a Border Collie and the focus of a Jindo. I’m clever, full of energy, and once I love you, I love you with all my heart. I was born in an old abandoned house, far from people and care. But when I was just 3 months old, kind humans rescued me and brought me to a warm, safe foster home. That’s where I spent the first 2 years of my life, learning what it means to be loved and to live indoors. Due to some changes in my foster family’s life, I had to move to a training center. At first, everything was unfamiliar and a little scary… but I surprised everyone by adjusting quickly! Now I get along great with the trainers, and I love learning new things. I’m really good at understanding people — not just their words, but their feelings too. When I meet someone new, I might hesitate for a moment. But give me a little time and kindness, and you’ll see the real me — sweet, affectionate, and even a little silly. I also get along well with other dogs and know how to play nicely without causing trouble. I love walks and being outdoors, and I’m happiest when I can explore the world with someone I trust. After some fun and exercise, I’m more than happy to relax quietly at home. I’ve got a calm, sensitive side too. I’ve spent most of my life around women, so I might be a bit shy around men at first. But please don’t worry — with patience and gentle care, I’ll come closer, lean in, and show you how much love I have to give. What I’m really looking for is someone who’s ready to build a bond — who’ll walk with me, talk with me, and understand that trust takes time but grows deep. If that sounds like you, I think we could be a perfect match. I’m ready to give my heart. Are you ready to be my forever family? 💛 Love, Dior

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Say hello to Laurel! She is a ~1 year-old, 28lb, Border Collie mix who is ready to find her perfect family in the PNW. Laurel came to us from a high kill shelter in CA as a stray. She can be fearful in new situations and will thrive in a home that can provide consistency and help her build confidence and trust. Once she knows you she is very affectionate and loving! Laurel feels much more confident with other dogs around, and would do best in a forever home that has a dog companion for her. She is not tested with cats, and due to her fearfulness at this time, we are looking for a home without children. Laurel would love a home with a fenced yard for her to run and play! She would not do well in a busy city environment at this time. Laurel is spayed, UTD on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.
