Story

Jack Jack is an 11 month old Border Collie Australian Shepherd mix. He is up to date on his vaccines, and nurtered. He knows to sit, nstay, down, paw, come (but could still use more work with come as he doesn't listen to it all the time), crate to go in his crate and his favorite is treat. He takes a minute to get used to new people, so someone who very patient with that would be best. He would do well with a home with a job to do, lots of yard space, another dog to play with as he does like to be around other dogs. He has been in a one dog only house, but does well with them on walks or at the park. He has a lot of energy, but also loves a good nap. When he is bored or looking for attention, he can get into using his mouth in a play bite, which it can be a bit of a challenge to get him to stop, so someone who is able to work with him more on that is important. He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He love walks, treats, bones to chew and just to get love and attention.

Hi, I’m Annie Mae! I’m a total rockstar — a social butterfly with higher energy who would happily run all day if you let me. I’m crazy smart and could easily be trained for agility, sports, or even service work. I’m potty trained, leash trained, dog friendly, and great with kids. I LOVE balls and playtime, and I thrive when I have a job or activity to keep my mind busy. If you want an energetic, intelligent, and playful companion who will keep you on your toes, I’m the one! Before coming here, I had quite the journey. I arrived with eight puppies and was severely malnourished, having clearly put everything she had into caring for her babies. The man who brought me in handled me roughly, but despite that, I have remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. My resilience and loving nature really shine through, and I’m ready for a future where I get to be cared for just as much as I care for others. I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. This handsome boy is sweet, goofy, spunky, and absolutely full of energy! He’s an athletic young dog who is ready to find a family that can keep up with him and help him become the best version of himself. Zydeco is incredibly smart and can go a long way with the right training. He’s eager to learn and would thrive with someone who enjoys working with their dog and is ready to continue building his obedience, impulse control, and manners. He walks well on leash overall, although he can be strong when something exciting catches his attention—especially squirrels! He can also still be mouthy and barky when excited, so he’ll need a confident handler who understands energetic, working-type dogs and is willing to put in the time and consistency he needs.
