Story
Oreo is a 3-year-old male Border Collie/Jindo mix who was rescued from a shelter just before he was scheduled for euthanasia. Sadly, and for unknown reasons, before finding himself abandoned and alone at the shelter, his teeth had been deliberately ground down. Amazingly and despite this, he remains a lively, energetic, and otherwise healthy dog who is remarkably intelligent, craves human interaction, and is very loyal to his guardian. Oreo has the exceptional intelligence typical of Border Collies, fully understanding various commands such as "sit," "wait," and "house." He is also deeply loyal to his guardian and has a strong capacity for forming deep bonds typical of the Jindo breed. He is truly a remarkable dog who has the capacity to grow into an even more amazing companion through continued obedience training and by establishing a trusting relationship with his guardian. Oreo is incredibly affectionate and loves people. He is also very social and gets along well with other dogs. However, he has a habit of jumping when excited, which requires caution when a person is interacting with him in a low position. With consistent training, this behavior can be corrected. Being highly energetic, Oreo possesses excellent jumping ability. At the training center, he has been known to leap over fences—not out of a desire to escape, but due to his curiosity and strong attachment to his guardian. In fact, he has demonstrated behavior where he jumps over a fence when he hears his guardian's voice outside, only to return shortly after. For this reason, families with yards should ensure proper supervision, and a high-fenced environment may be more suitable. The Ideal Family for Oreo is: ✔️ Someone who understands the high intelligence and energy levels of Border Collies, the exceptional loyalty of Jindos, and can provide sufficient mental and physical stimulation ✔️ Someone with experience in training or handling large dogs ✔️ Someone who values bonding with their dog and is ready to build a deep connection ✔️ Someone who can provide ample space for Oreo to move and exercise freely Despite his heartbreaking past, Oreo still loves people and finds his greatest happiness in being with his guardian. With so much intelligence and energy, he has limitless potential to become the perfect lifelong companion if he meets the right family, one that understands him and is ready to provide him with love, care, and proper training. Oreo is waiting for his new family! ❤️

Story
Hi, I’m Annie Mae! I’m a total rockstar — a social butterfly with higher energy who would happily run all day if you let me. I’m crazy smart and could easily be trained for agility, sports, or even service work. I’m potty trained, leash trained, dog friendly, and great with kids. I LOVE balls and playtime, and I thrive when I have a job or activity to keep my mind busy. If you want an energetic, intelligent, and playful companion who will keep you on your toes, I’m the one! Before coming here, I had quite the journey. I arrived with eight puppies and was severely malnourished, having clearly put everything she had into caring for her babies. The man who brought me in handled me roughly, but despite that, I have remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. My resilience and loving nature really shine through, and I’m ready for a future where I get to be cared for just as much as I care for others. I am currently located in Texas but am available for adoption in multiple states across the country. My out of state adoption fee is $750. This fee helps cover the cost of care while I was at the shelter AND the cost of transporting me home! This includes: spay/neuter, if unaltered upon intake. age-appropriate vaccinations during time in care. a registered microchip if unchipped upon intake. a heartworm test if over six months of age. current flea/tick prevention during time in care. 3(+) broad spectrum deworming treatment. any medical expenses while in care. a health certificate for travel. the cost of travel (drivers, gas, and vehicle maintenance if via our route, or up to $200 in crate rental fees if on another transporter’s route!) Every adoption through the SPCA of Brazoria County also come with a PetSmart adoption kit, and some coupons for PetCo! Our first meeting/interview for adoption occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Apply to adopt me at https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/BRAZ/27759-long-distance-adopt-app. If you have questions, please email jami@spcabc.org.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Remington 🐾 Remington is the sweet smart one of the bunch — the soft eyes, wagging tail, melt-into-your-arms kind of puppy... that is ready for the adventures. This 10-week-old Border Collie/ Australian Cattle Dog mix is a gentle, sensitive little guy with a soft, soulful personality. He’s much more “thoughtful collie” than “rowdy heeler,” preferring connection and cuddles over chaos. He does have that classic cattle dog grit paired with border collie smarts, which means he’s quick to learn, highly observant, and already showing signs of being one clever little problem solver. He’s playful, energetic, and endlessly entertaining — equal parts athlete and comedian. Remington is wonderfully social and full of personality, with just the right amount of bossy “supervisor” energy that makes everyone laugh. We expect him to be about 35 lbs full grown — the perfect size for hiking, training, road trips, or an active lifestyle. Because of his working-breed mix, he’ll thrive in a home ready to keep his mind and body busy with training, games, and lots of engagement. In return, you’ll get the most loyal, fun-loving sidekick you could ask for. If you’re ready for a smart, spunky best friend who will keep life exciting, Remington is your boy. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give this deserving lil fella the forever home he’s been waiting for 💛🐾

This 10-week-old Border Collie × Australian Cattle Dog mix is bursting with confidence, brains, and pure puppy sparkle. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Layla 🐾 If you’re looking for a shadow with four paws and the sweetest little heart, Layla is your girl. This 10-week-old Border Collie × Australian Cattle Dog mix leans much more toward her collie side — gentle, sensitive, and incredibly people-focused. While her sister may be the bossy adventurer, Layla is the snuggler, the observer, the one who just wants to be close to you. She’s happiest curled up at your feet, following you from room to room, or soaking up all the pets she can get. Layla bonds deeply with her humans and has that soft, loyal nature that makes border collies so special. Don’t worry — she’s still a puppy! She loves to play and explore, but her energy is a bit more easygoing and thoughtful. She’s smart, eager to learn, and very in tune with her people, which will make training a breeze. We expect her to be around 35 lbs full grown — the perfect medium size for adventures, road trips, and couch cuddles alike. She’ll thrive in a home that wants a close companion and understands the needs of an intelligent working-breed mix. If you want a gentle, affectionate best friend who will stick by your side through everything, Layla is ready to be your little heart dog. 🤍 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give this deserving girl the forever home she’s been waiting for 💛🐾

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💕🐾 Meet Your New Favorite Little Lady — Sweet, Social & Slightly Silly 🐾💕 4 Months Old • 15 lbs • Female • Professional Treat Taker At just 4 months old and 15 pounds, this darling girl is the perfect pocket-sized blend of sweetness and puppy charm. While she may have some Border Collie in her background, she skipped the “caffeinated squirrel” setting and went straight for the gentle, laid-back option. Think more “thoughtful observer” than “chaos coordinator.” 😉 She is super loving, wonderfully gentle, and already knows how to take treats politely — which in puppy terms is basically earning an honorary PhD. She’s smart, attentive, and very people-focused without being over-the-top hyper. When fully grown she should be a fantastic medium size to enjoy all your adventures but still save a spot for you on the couch!! Lately, she and her sibling, Sierra, have been getting lots of social time in the garage and big backyard, and it’s doing wonders for her confidence. She’s blossoming into a happy, social little butterfly who enjoys interaction and is figuring out that the world is actually a pretty fun place. Now let’s be clear — she is still a puppy. Which means: • Random zoomies activated without warning • Toy redistribution programs throughout your house • Occasional “what is this and can I chew it?” investigations • Daily moments that will absolutely make you laugh out loud Puppy shenanigans? Yes. Daily entertainment? Also yes. She would make a fantastic family pet thanks to her sweet, gentle nature. She’s loving without being wild, playful without being pushy, and cuddly without needing to run a marathon first. Her dream home includes: • A family ready for normal puppy antics • Love, structure, and patience • Maybe a backyard for zoomie practice • People who appreciate a good daily LOL moment She’s the kind of pup who will grow into a loyal, steady companion — but right now she’s mastering the fine art of being adorable while learning the ropes. If you’re ready for a gentle, loving, slightly goofy little sidekick who will fill your home with giggles and tail wags, she’s ready to report for duty. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — because life is better with a little puppy chaos and a whole lot of love. 🐾💗
