Story
Well, hello. So glad you stopped by. I’m Rockwell, by the way. A little bashful at first, but my PR lady says I gotta toot that horn a little more. So, here goes… I’m as handsome as they come, says everybody I meet. Soulful stripes, wise eyes, a little gray around the mug as I wait, wait, wait to meet my person. While I’m hanging with my incredible foster family, I know you’re out there, somewhere, searching for just me. Come closer! I’m here! It’s me, Rockwell, your new one and only. #itsjustlunch #untilwefallinlove Curious about my name, I poked around ancestry.com and discovered Norman Rockwell. While I’m thinking we’re not related, I do love his paintings of families by the fireplace, loyal dogs at their feet. No need for the fireplace, mind you. You had me at lie at your feet. I could also lie on them, if you prefer? #cuddlebug #rockwell #timeforustosettledown I’m a brainy sort who loves puzzles, especially those involving food. If that Sunday crossword were made of treats, I’d surely make the front page. I also love a good road trip, wind in my ears, or cuddling up with a warm mug of chai, you by my side. Then, after a good nap, I’m ready to romp in those fall leaves (If only I could rake them for you.)  In addition to mental exercise, I like to stay fit by rolling around the yard, going for a run, or taking a nice walk together ( I do love our walks.) And I adore playing with tennis balls–-greatest inventions of all time.  Hey, do you like belly rubs? Really!? Me too! One of the best things known to pup-kind. Fun fact: belly rubs are great for said dog (of course!), but they also boost the mood of the human giving them. (Hint, hint.) You rub my belly, I rest my head on yours…sigh. Time for a new Rockwell painting.    First belly rub on me, Rockwell ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
How are you? I'm Reggie, a 7-year-old Brindle boxer boy, as true to the breed as they come. Chase my nub even though I’ll never catch it? Yes, please. Look at you exxpecantly for whatever awesome thing you’re gonna do next? Sign me up! Roll around on the grass with my legs in the air? Si. Chase a ball and meanmug a squirrel, then get distracted, then run back and lean into you for treat and/or butt scratch? What more could a pup want?   If you work from home, I can help! Not great at filing, but I’ll make you laugh during Zoom calls. I’ll snuggle at your feet and lay in the sunlight, too. If you leave the house to bring home my bacon, that’s OK, too, My toys and I can amuse myself, and I’m good in a crate. Besides, boxers need their rest. I nap with the best of them. Friendly with ‘out and about’ dog greetings, I do prefer slow intros to other pups. If your household’s so inclined, I’d make an excellent ‘only’ four-legged. Kids, people, new and old friends…my natural enthusiasm truly shines.   Let’s play, snuggle, chase, suntan, and smile together forever.    Hopefully yours,  Reggie ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
I’m Tigger, a 1 year old female Boxer mix.  I am so sweet and good with other dogs. My foster adds: This girl is a little ray of sunshine. She’s an eager student, a little shadow, loves attention and pets, silly, dog friendly, knows no personal space, incredibly sweet and eager to please. She’s quickly learned “sit” and to get in her crate for mealtime, doing great with potty training, easy to walk, has such sweet nub wagging positive energy. ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
Well, hullo there. I’m Spuds, a deaf 5-year-old male Boxer mix. My otherworldly tongue and I can't wait to meet you! I’m a squishy, soulful, unique fella who loves to be loved. I was in a Stones cover band for a while, actually, but no one believed I was Mick Jagger. I guess my tongue’s longer than his?!  These days, I'm more of a couch potato/'Spuds on the Sofa' kind of guy. I'm happy to share!    Now that I’ve gotten some HoBo love, I’m starting to accept myself: huge head, duck-footed paws, lopsided smile and all. I’m one of a kind, they say. A living, snoring Mr. Potato Head, ergo, Spuds, the goofiest tater tot in the West!  I try and try everyday, but they say I can’t get any cuter.    I’m fairly squishy and totally sweet, especially sweet on you. In fact, I get very attached to new friends. The shelter caretakers loved me, and my foster does, too. I’m just wondering who will love me forever and everr? Make me theirs? I’d love to find that feeling in my lifetime. Fun Fact about me: I love to dress up! Cowboy on the range–I’m a little bowlegged from the saddle; black tie treat affair; Mick Jagger on ‘Tongue Out Tuesday’ (or any other day that ends in y). I’m a costume contest aficionado.  I’ll sit pleasantly for treats, and for quite some time. Like any worthy potato, I got nowhere to be, and all day to get there. Country song, right? Tipping my cowboy hat your way.  I write this with the most sincere wishes that you’ll finally find me and bring me home. Don’t have to be your one and only, but I only have big eyes for you.    Baked or mashed, with a pat of butter...this Spuds is for you.    XOXO, won’t you be mine?   Spuds ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application. Story
I’m Georgia, my friend, a 4-year-old Boxer/Shepherd mix–and a beautiful one, I’m told. Will you please foster me while I wait for my lifetime friend? If you fall in love with me, however, I'll happily love you forever.  While wandering through the grasses, I love to hum old country tunes, even carve out additional verses. Nothing goes better with belly scratches than a little Georgia/Chicken Jerky on my Mind!  Other arms reach out to me (nothing to see here, bee) Other eyes smile tenderly (are you almost back from Trader Joe’s?)  Still in peaceful dreams, I see The road leads back to you (and chicken jerky!?) Yes, it’s true, I’m a bit of a diva for Trader Joe’s chicken jerky.  All’s fair in love and treats! And while I take a beat to meet and greet, once I get to know you, I’ll shower you with kisses. That's my signature move, actually. Snack or no snack, the biggest treat is time with you. With my rich brindle coloring and contemplative, bemused perspective, the best of both breeds finds me gently curious with a warm, willing disposition. I amble about to sniff the flowers, trot toward you to check in, and then roll onto my side to perfect my yard or meadow tan. While my eyes see all, my soft gaze sets people at ease. Spending cherished time in our rescue family’s home base, “The Yard,” I inspected a hedge, poked around some bark, smiled at a squirrel and cocked my head at a bird or two. And then, I stretched out beside my volunteer, lay my head in her lap, and assumed the ‘scratch me now’ position. It worked! Wherever I go, may all roads lead to belly rubs.  With you, your lap, and sunshine on my mind, Georgia ********PLEASE READ BELOW PRIOR TO EMAILING IN**********If you are interested in adopting this dog or any other from our rescue, please go to https://www.hobocare.org/adopt to review our home requirements and fill out an application.
