Sweet Jolene & her sister were found dumped in a wildlife management area. A good Samaritan has brought her up to date on vaccines, dewormed her, and given her loving care. Now it's time for her to find a furever home for the holidays! This is a courtesy posting to ensure this pup lands in a great home. Jackson is a handsome 7-year-old boy and weighs 80-ish lbs. Because he is a larger love bug who doesn't know his size, he would do best in a home with teenage children. Although Jackson is deaf, he is VERY trainable and has responded well to learning hand signals with his foster mom. He has laser focus whenever his toys or treats are involved. He is very snuggly-and likes to think he's a lap dog, despite his size! Jackson is potty trained, neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Delta Dawn is a very sweet 9 month old pit mix with a very rough past. While in her previous families care she was hit by a car and she didn’t receive proper treatment for well over 3 months and was a VERY skiny girl. Since being in our care she has received proper veterinary care and she did end up losing her back right leg as a result of her injuries from being hit by the car. She is officially a healthy weight and definitely doesn’t let her past slow her down! She gets along with our two female dogs very well! We feel Delta would best suited for an experienced owner who is willing to put the work in to train and care for her as it’s very likely she will have joint problems as she ages. She knows simple commands like “sit”and “here”. She would be best suited in a home with older children(4 and up) and no cats. She has a very sensitive stomach and can only eat FROMM gold adult dog food(black bag) and takes a probiotic. All she wants for Christmas is the perfect family to love!
