We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Astro is a 2yr old 100lb purebred American Bulldog and is special as they come. He’s NKC registered, current on all vaccinations, and in excellent health with no known behavioral issues. Due to urgent family health issues, we are heartbroken to make the incredibly difficult decision to find him a new home, but our priority is ensuring he goes to a safe, loving environment. Astro is incredibly affectionate, loves scratches and being close to his people. He’s friendly and playful with other dogs and enjoys yard play. He is house-trained, crate-trained and does great in his crate. Astro knows basic commands and is eager to please. He thrives with structure and would do best in a home that can provide consistency, space, and continued guidance. Added support from The Ozzie Albies Foundation: To help set Astro and his future family up for success, the Ozzie Albies Foundation will cover the cost of his neuter after adoption and will also provide two complimentary training sessions if needed.

She’s an incredibly sweet girl who has never even nipped (unless on accident while playing, she’s very apologetic afterwards). She loves cats (I have one at home), other dogs and kids. She can seem a little much at first because she just gets very excited but once she calms down she’s truly just a cuddly couch potato. She is not fixed and has allergies. I know she’s allergic to chicken and beef, but unaware what else she may be allergic to. She does have some skin issues that I can’t take her to the vet to figure out. I give her oatmeal baths and they seem to help some.

My sister brought this puppy here about 4 years ago, and has not returned. We’ve done the best we can, at this point he needs a yard to run in. I hope for him to go to a new home with lots of yard space for him to run and an owner that loves cuddles. He is active, playful, usually quiet, and he’s jokester with a cute smile. He also loves snacks. Ps: we’re not 100% on his breed, this is what she told us.
