Story
Sweet Jolene & her sister were found dumped in a wildlife management area. A good Samaritan has brought her up to date on vaccines, dewormed her, and given her loving care. Now it's time for her to find a furever home for the holidays! This is a courtesy posting to ensure this pup lands in a great home. The rescue will reach out to veterinarians, references, and property managers, as we would for dogs in our program. However, the adoption will be a private agreement between the carer and the adopter. The carer will provide all records at the time of adoption. If you'd like to find out more about making this gorgeous doggy a member of your family and to assess better whether (s)he would be a good fit in your home, please fill out our adoption form here: https://airtable.com/shrlL2pbqSGTRJiyc *If you live in rented accommodation, please familiarise yourself with the property management's pet policy before applying. All breed mixes listed are an educated guess; we didn't meet mom or dad!

Story
Rhea might be in her golden years, but don’t tell her that—she’s too busy living life like a much younger pup. This sweet senior gal is all about walks, playtime, and tennis balls (preferably as many as you’ll let her hoard at once). In fact, she’s so independent, she’ll even carry her own leash—because why wait for humans to catch up?She’s fantastic with other dogs and still loves a good romp around the yard or a friendly play session. Whether it’s a senior snuggle buddy or a younger goofball, Rhea’s happy to make friends. She’s also gentle and loving with people of all ages, including kiddos, making her a wonderful fit for a family home.Despite her playful streak, Rhea is also content to curl up and relax once the fun is over. She’s already house- and crate-trained, so she’s as easygoing as she is lovable.Looking for a loyal companion who brings equal parts joy, maturity, and tennis ball obsession? Rhea is ready to walk herself right into her forever home.

Story
Trevor is about 4 1/2 years old. He was a rescue and is a lovable, affectionate good boy. We are not able to give him the exercise and interaction he really needs due to our health. We are aging and will be moving to a much smaller place in late December. Trevor would do well with an active, loving owner. He’s good with other dogs, but not cats. He would be fine with kids who are of school age, but he loves to jump and is quite strong, so I’m not sure how he would be with infants/toddlers. We hope for someone to love him as much as we do, but who has more energy for this active boy. (Neutered and updated on vaccinations) He also loves to snuggle and gives great kisses!

Story
Meet Billie — a gentle 2-year-old sweetheart searching for her forever home! Billie was rescued from an Atlanta shelter at the end of August after spending two long months there, shut down and scared. She originally ended up at the shelter when her owner was evicted and left her behind in a backyard kennel. No one knows how long she was alone before animal control arrived, but what we do know is that Billie is blossoming beautifully now that she’s safe. In her foster home, Billie has quickly shown what a loving, sensitive, and clever girl she truly is. She’s eager to please (especially if treats are involved!) and already knows sit, down, and is working hard on stay. Since she previously lived outdoors, potty training was new to her, but she has learned quickly with the help of doorbells to signal when she needs to go out. Billie is crate-trained for when her foster family is away, but she sleeps soundly at night in her cozy bed next to them. She’s still learning that the world is a safe place; quick movements and loud noises can make her anxious, so she’ll need a patient adopter willing to continue helping her build confidence through gentle socialization. Billie is wonderfully dog-friendly, especially with calm, mellow dogs. She shares toys, plays tug, and seems comforted by the companionship of the resident older female dog. Because of this, we believe she would thrive best in a home with another friendly dog to show her the ropes and give her a buddy to cuddle and play with. She has shown no aggression or prey drive toward cats on walks, though she hasn’t been formally cat-tested indoors. She arrived very underweight, but with consistent care and good nutrition, she’s been steadily reaching a healthy size. Billie is a tender, loyal, and resilient girl who just needs a loving family willing to keep helping her grow. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will reward your patience with endless love, Billie might be the perfect match. 💛 Apply to adopt: dcdogos.org/adopt Location: Atlanta, GA

Story
Delta Dawn is a very sweet 9 month old pit mix with a very rough past. While in her previous family’s care she was hit by a car and she didn’t receive proper treatment for well over 3 months and was a VERY skiny girl. Since being in our care she has received proper veterinary care and she did end up losing her back right leg as a result of her injuries from being hit by the car. She is officially a healthy weight and definitely doesn’t let her past slow her down! She gets along with our two female dogs very well! We feel delta would best suited for an experienced owner who is willing to put the work in to train and care for her as it’s very likely she will have joint problems as she ages. She knows simple commands like sit and “delta here.” She would be best suited in a home with older children(4 and up) and no cats. She has a very sensitive stomach and can only eat FROMM gold adult dog food(black bag) and takes a probiotic with every meal to help as well. She will need to be spayed!!!

Story
Bebe was adopted in May of 2025. She is a loving, affectionate and very playful girl. She is a year old and is very good with children. She has the patience of a saint when it comes to children. She loves welcoming you home and is very excited to see her loved ones. Due to health issues (on our end) we cannot keep her. We want her to go to a loving home where she can run, play and grow with her owners.
