We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Jubilee is sweet, loyal, soft, cuddly, and fun. She was found as a stray in my neighborhood, she was house broken but not spayed. She is now spayed and has all of her shots etc. I think she is around 6 or 7. She loves the out doors, and is great at keeping watch of a house. She is kind to humans- adults and kids, but has had a few incidents with other dogs and does chase cats. She would love a home with a loving owner. She is pretty chill, and can go for a long time- up to 10 hours during the day without having to be let out. She needs to be the only pet in the house. It would be great to have a yard or a big property that she could enjoy but she is also fine staying inside and only being out for walks twice a day. I have a fenced in yard, she is out there regularly and doesn't try to escape. I left the door open once and she got out but she came back to the house on her own pretty quickly afterwards. She is a good companion and will walk or jog with you and give you snuggles.

Story
Hello meet Swan,This pretty girl is ready to go home and experience what real love is all about. We are not sure what happened to Swan but it must of been pretty terrible. Helping her adjust may take a lot of patience and understanding. This sweet girl is confused and frightened about other dogs. She doesn`t know how to play or interact with them. We are trying our best to help her socialize and get her acclimated but we must go at her pace. We would really love to have her go to a quiet home with positive reinforcement. She really enjoys being in a yard to zoom around and has fun when she is by your side. She`s fairly quiet and we would recommend a crate for her so she has a safe space to enjoy. If you have it in your heart to give this beauty the time she needs we wouldn`t be able to thank you enough. She is looing forward to meeting youLove,SwanJOIN US FOR THE BISSELL PET FOUNDATION EMPTY THE SHELTERS ADOPTION EVENT HAPPENING MAY 1-15!We will be open Saturday, May 4 from 10am-3pm for a unique `May the Forth be with You Event - THE SHELTER BARKS BACK!

Story
Jillie, the sweetest pup you could ever meet ~She’s a year old, about 60 pounds, and a pig-bull ~While she still has that fun puppy energy, she’s pretty much a chill girl (after she gets her rah-rahs out of course!) She’s good with other pups and is currently living with 2 others, one that is deaf ~She loves to be loved on or curl up next to you on your couch or bed. Jillie has hands down, the cutest head tilt ever! She’s also part kangaroo that likes to do a hop/pounce when chasing a toy, You’ll want to play catch with her just to see it ~So she will also need a 6 foot fence or sturdy tie out :) ~Jillie is crate trained and comes with a bully crate. Sometimes she just goes to her crate to nap, too. ~She has not met cats. ~Kids 10 and older. ~Jillie is just a funny, loving, pup that would be a wonderful addition to a family!!! ~Spayed, current on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative Think Jillie could be the one for you?! https://www.misfitangelsrescue.org TEXT 586-339-5443

Story
Adoption Fee Sponsored! Introducing Blue Grass, lovingly referred to as "Grass." He is a Staffordshire Terrier/Catahoula Leopard Dog Mix (sibling was DNA tested) & DOB is 12/11/15. ~This 8-year old fella would enjoy an adult-only home, or with kids that are 12+ years old. He has lived with other dogs previously, however an ideal furever fit for him would be as an only dog, or a cat-free home with a calm/chill/older dog sibling. ~He is crate trained & house broken. He has done well with meeting new human friends, & will sometimes talk when greeting. We would love a structured home since he is a bit more of an alert, anxious guy & a home with no rules & routine is not going to work for him. ~Blue Grass is great in the car, a gentleman for baths & nails, does not require a fenced in yard (however proper acclimation & training would absolutely need to be carried out.) He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines & preventions & heartworm negative. He is a lovebug that just wants a solid, dog-savvy family to spoil him for the rest of his years ? ~If interested in Blue Grass, please visit www.misfitangelsrescue.org to complete an application.
