Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. MEET FORREST Forrest holds a special place in our hearts! Crawling his paralized self to safety only for the public to turn around and treat him like he was a problem. He was never the problem! He knew that if he got himself to safety the right people were going to find him and boy did he get lucky! Forrest was picked up by a rescuer and brought to the vet for attention. He now has a wheel chair and can cruise all over the place! He is living the best life in his foster home and is SO ready to find a home to call his own where he will be loved and treated how a sweet, kind and happy pup like him should be treated!

They love squeaky toys, playing outside, and chasing the bigger dogs around the yard—though sometimes they decide chewing on each other is just as fun. After all that excitement, you’ll find them sunbathing in the yard, soaking up the warmth while watching all the action around them. They’re smart, treat-motivated, and eager to learn, which makes training a breeze. They’ve already mastered the doggy door, and that’s helping them make great progress with potty training.
