Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. I'm very playful and good at running, but when my foster mom is working from home, I can be pretty good about taking naps too. My perfect day would involve lots of outdoor activity, hopefully with some dog buddies, trying new things and places, and crashing on the couch with my human in the evening. She is fiercely loving and wants to be with her people as much as possible. She’s a total cuddle bug who loves kisses, belly rubs, and snuggling up at night. Val also has a playful side! She loves toys, enjoys playing with her foster dog siblings, and gets along great with them. She has shown aggression when separated from another dog with a fence she can see through, even when they get along well without the fence. If you have neighbors with dogs she would do best on a leash in the yard. She’s potty trained on a consistent schedule and does well in her crate, settling in nicely with a treat. Hippo is about two years old. My wife is a vet tech so we took him in until we could find a home for him. He is a great dog for someone without other pets. He gets too excited around other dogs and gets nippy. That aside, he is super affectionate and loves belly rubs. Kennel trained and loves to snuggle. It’s unfortunate but he just doesn’t get along with my other pets.
