Abigail is a 1.5 year old female boxer mix looking for her forever cuddle buddy. She is good with other dogs. We suggest no cats. Abbie-Girl has so much love to give to a lucky family! Abbie may appear short in stature, however, her Boxer mix is in her back legs which makes her very springy. Her Foster Mom lovingly calls her the “Houdini” because she is determined to escape the backyard. Because of this, she would be safest in an apartment or home with frequent walks and should not be left alone in a back yard. She also LOVES doggy daycare! She's a beautiful athletic girl and can't wait to meet you. Baxter is not part of the PAWS program.   We show our dogs by appointment only upon receipt of an online application which can be found at kcpaws.petfinder.com  Adoption fee for Baxter is $150 (sponsored).  If you are interested in Baxter, please complete the online application. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 Baxter is an adorable Pit/Boxer mix, perhaps Lab/Pit mix.  Baxter is about 8 years old and is a big ol goofy boy who loves to play with his stuffy toys. He is a happy go lucky sort of boy, but can be protective of his people.  Baxter is fine with some dogs and not with others so we would prefer he goes to a home with no other dogs.  When he does play with other dogs he has a rough and rowdy play style that cam be overwhelming to some dogs. The ideal home for Baxter would be a quiet house without a lot of in and out traffic of non family members coming and going, a nice couch or dog bed for him to lounge on, a toy box full of stuffy toys and a privacy fenced back yard.  He is not a dog that requires a lot of exercise so playing in the house with his toys or in the backyard should be fine for him. Meet Espresso! Unfortunately we will never know this sweet old man's past, other than he was found as a stray and taken to a kill shelter where he was euth listed only because of his age. The only dog in an empty row they decided wasn't worth living and to walk down the hall and never return. We could not let that be his fate. Since being with us, this sweet old man has ready made a few doggie friends and does his best to keep up with the playful younger pups. Espresso is mostly concerned with any person wiling to give him a little affection. He is so thankful to be given a second chance at life and would love to be yours furever.

Meet Dorothy! This sweet girl lost her home when her owner went to jail and she was left in a hotel room by herself. She is on the smaller side, weighing only 36 pounds, and uses a wheelchair due to an old spinal injury. She currently has a UTI that we are treating and a heart murmur. Her previous foster said "Dorothy is very quiet and timid, not quite interested in human touch just yet but she just got here today. She could add a little weight on her and has an old spinal injury which is resulting in her hind end paralysis. She is very good at scooting around but has some sores. I set up her kennel and she went in there immediately, it's her safe space!"
