Story
Don’t let that powder-sugar-speckled face of serious charm in her professional portrait fool you. Bridget has an admirer who loves the Seniors but not is in the position to adopt so she is sponsoring Bridget's $400 adoption fee.   Bridget has a smile as bright as the sunshine she loves to lounge in! &#226&#152&#128&#239&#184&#143 Our 9-year-old cobalt-colored Lab mix is the definition of a gentle companion. Bridget is happy to simply be near her person — a quiet shadow who doesn’t crowd your space but fills it with peace. She’s low-maintenance and full of love: a few short walks, a soft spot to nap, a plush stuffie or two, and some forehead smooches make her day complete. Bridget is a total gem — dog and cat friendly, house and crate trained, great on leash, and respectful of your things. In other words, the perfect housemate! Ready to bring sunshine home? Story
Snowcone (ACCT-A-244639) arrived at ACCT Philly on March 6th after police discovered him and two other dogs tied up inside an abandoned home. Despite this difficult start, Snowcone has shown himself to be a resilient and affectionate young dog who is eager to connect with people and soak up attention. Since arriving at the shelter, Snowcone has consistently demonstrated a loving and people-oriented personality. He happily leans into pets, greets handlers with soft eyes and wiggly energy, and takes treats gently. Volunteers describe him as a “lover” who enjoys being close to his person and will enthusiastically jump up to say hello. Snowcone is still learning some basics like responding to cues and playing with toys—he seems a bit unfamiliar with games like fetch and even flinched when a ball was thrown, suggesting he may not have had much experience with play before arriving. Even so, he shows curiosity and interest and may blossom with patient guidance and positive reinforcement. Snowcone has also shown encouraging social behavior with other dogs. Through the fence and in playgroup assessments, he has displayed loose body language, friendly greetings, and interest in meeting canine companions. While he can pull on leash when other dogs are nearby due to excitement, he has been steerable and warms up quickly after initial tension. During a recent day trip, he reportedly did very well, greeting strangers on walks with loose, wiggly tail wags and friendly enthusiasm. Snowcone also already knows how to give both paws, showing that he is a smart boy who enjoys interacting with people and learning new things. Overall, Snowcone is a sweet, affectionate dog who seems ready for a fresh start in a loving home where he can continue to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy the stability he deserves. 📽️Videos📽️ Snowcone knows paw and other paw: https://youtube.com/shorts/1ezmwlkoUtY?feature=shared Meet Snowcone: https://youtube.com/shorts/HJvZ-RFDtBE?si=VudYAJ2kI-Wm3p8X ⭐Behavioral Notes⭐ Playgroup 03/11/2026: High rapid tail wags, lip licking stiff at the gate, steerable, ears back, tense at first and then warmed up showing interest in multiple dogs, more relaxed body, high-mid level wags, ears back and then forward, good greetings 03/11/2026 per staff: When returning from day trip, foster indicated did well. Met strangers on walk-greeted with loose and wiggly wags. Upon return to kennel-Snow Cone was assessed in playgroup-spoke to behavior team that was present. Changing eligibility status to foster eligible due to notes and current behavior status 03/07/2026 per volunteer behavioral eval: Kennel Presentation: in crate, when I opened crate door, pawed to come out. I felt comfortable sticking leash in and lassoing. Leash Skills: can pull hard and whip around when a dog is around. Sociability: Snowcone is a lover. Comes over for pets, leans into you. Soft eyes. Gentle with treats. Did not respond to commands. Jumps up to say hi. Play: chased toys but seemed unfamiliar with them or fetching them. Flinched when I threw a ball. Did not retrieve. Dog Interaction: interested through fence. Loose body, neutral tail with medium speed tail wag. Return to Kennel: went back into crate for treats easily. Story
Lexa walked through our door about three months ago. She was fixed at SPCA in July of 2025. We think she's about 1-2 years old. Lexa got along with the rest of the pack right away. The neighborhood kids and my grandson love her. She tends to nip when she's excited and jump. Lexa is house broken. She will let you know when it's time for a walk, if you're home. Lexa does walk on a leash and pulls a lot. Lexa really loves to snuggle! Anywhere and anytime. She seems to have had some training. She knows hand signals well and also listens to verbal commands.
