Story
Meet Miranda Priestley.
Miranda has been in the system for several months now, and honestly, she does not show well at foster events. She is shy, she hides, and if you meet her there you will probably wonder what the appeal is. This bio is here to tell you what the appeal is.
She is actually a returning foster of mine. I had originally been fostering her alongside another cat, but I had to go out of town for an extended trip, so I gave both cats back into care while I was away. When I came back, the other cat had been adopted, but Miranda had not, so I decided to pick her back up since I knew a familiar place would help her settle faster. It did. This time around it took her less than a week to start coming out of her shell, much faster than the first time.
In the beginning she was hiding constantly, the kind of cat you would swear had vanished into thin air. She has not vanished, she is just very good at finding spots you did not know existed. Give her time and a whole personality shows up. Playful, sassy, affectionate, and honestly just gorgeous. She has a statuesque neck, deep golden amber eyes, and a coat so soft it is borderline chinchilla, I would not be surprised if there is some mink in there.
She gets along well with other cats, plays and eats alongside them without any issues. Dogs are not really her thing.
She eats well and uses her litter box like a pro, no matter how many times I move it or change the litter. That part has never been an issue, even on days I barely see her.
For a while she was still wary of me outside the bedroom, but that is already changing. She used to disappear during the day and only come alive at bedtime, now she is starting to come out and approach me outside the bedroom too. At night she is fully affectionate, right now she is purring on my chest as I write this. She rolls over for belly rubs, curls up in your lap, and gives you this look like she is judging you, but really she has just decided you are worthy of her time.
She also loves cat TV, she gets completely mesmerized watching the birds and chipmunks and will go after the screen when something catches her eye. It is the most playful and active I see her, and I am putting together a video of her doing it.
Miranda just needs someone patient enough to let her come out on her own time. She is proof that the investment pays off. Give her that chance and you get a genuinely sweet, affectionate, gorgeous girl who is worth the wait.
All cats/kittens will be spayed/neutered unless spay/neuter contract is signed with additional deposit.
