Nick is a gentle giant with a whole lot of love tucked into his big, handsome frame. He’s sweet, a little shy at first, and incredibly affectionate once he feels safe. If you walk into a room and sit on the floor, Nick won’t hesitate—he’ll make a beeline straight for your lap, complete with enthusiastic headbutts to say hello. Nick enjoys lounging in the cubby of his cat tree, surveying the room from above, watching out the window, and keeping an eye on outside activities. He likes wand toys but he’d much rather relax in your lap and soak up all your attention. Nick, along with his littermates Kevin and Popeye, was adopted from our rescue as small kittens and sadly returned over two years later. Since coming back into foster care, he has shown that he has no behavioral or medical issues—just a tender heart that needed a little time to adjust. It might take him a couple of days, but treats (and his love of affection) quickly will win him over. Now he’s happily seeking out cuddles and lap time. Nick is looking for a forever home where he never has to worry about losing his person again. Although he would love if he could be adopted with his brother Kevin, he can go as a single kitty. Hello, My name is Fluffy. Apologies, if I appear a little rough around the edges. You see, this life has been unkind to me. All I’ve ever known is how to survive. I have spent most of my kitten-hood scrounging for food and trying to keep safe from the elements. Moving from bush to bush, to living under houses, I simply hoped that I would make it to the next day. And, as is common with life on the streets, I found myself pregnant at a very young age. Malnourished and on my last ounce of life, I put everything into trying to raise and protect my little ones. But by some miracle, we were picked up and brought inside. The last few weeks at my foster home have been eye opening. I was introduced to toys. I like toys. They are quite fun and make me feel happy and excited. I also don’t have to beg or fight for food and water. It’s weird having a full belly every night. And the beds are warm and cozy. I often wonder why I wasn’t born an inside cat. Why was I thrown to the side and ignored? I know I can be scraggly and unkept, but I am kind and patient. They say that I am inherently bad luck and that I should be tossed back outside. But I do not want to go back outside. I want to stay where it is warm and safe. I want a home to call my own. I want to play and purr. Roll on my back with my belly up. I want to love and be loved. I know I am a good cat. But they say it will be hard for me. I am not a cute kitten anymore. I am past my prime and will have to wait to be passed up until I am forgotten again. Story

Sunny is a sweet kitty who has been in our rescue for sometime now. She was adopted and then returned with Neurological symptoms that were crippling. Sunny was adopted as a kitten with mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia, but when returned she was not moving her hind legs at all. Initially not moving or eating, she recieved countless hours of therapy, visits to the vet, medications and a ton of love. She slowly began to regain her ability to ambulate and found the "spark" she had lost through all of her ordeal. We have found the right combination of medication to keep her happy and walking (a bit wobbly but walking!) She walks about the house as she pleases, she climbs the sofa when it's tv time with foster mom and loves to get fresh air and lounge in the grass...she may be in love with the resident rooster as she sits and stares at him endlessly when he visits her at her window every day. She is independent at using the litterbox, food, and is otherwise a normal kitty! She is the sweetest kitty and eats up all the lovies, she wants to be with her human as much as possible and will even follow you to the bathroom. She has made such a turn around and deserves a loving, family that will never let her go. Sunny has been with a gentle dog and cats(she does not like kittens), but would do best as an only kitty. We are open to a foster to adopt situation as we want to ensure that it is the right fit for her (and for you).
