Story
Your future best friend just spun her way into town, and she’s ready to steal your heart (and your leftover wet food).   Meet Lucita (or Lucy, or Lucy Lou, or just "The Potato"). Here is the lowdown on this Dachshund-mix masterpiece:    Her Signature Moves The 360-Degree Spin: Why walk in a straight line when you can twirl? Lucita literally spins through life. She can walk straight, she just prefers to put a little spice on it. (Bonus: The more relaxed she gets, the less she spins!)   The "No Teeth, No Problem" Smile: Thanks to a wild underbite, Lucita recently had 17 teeth removed. She’s fully healed and totally unfazed. She can still crunch kibble, but she will absolutely sing you the song of her people for some wet food.   The T-Rex Hops: When playtime hits, she does these adorable little bunny hops and pounces on her toys. She can get a little mouthy when she’s hyped up, but since she has no front teeth, she really just gently gums you.    Social Status & Vibes "I love humans. Other animals are... fine, I guess." — Lucita's Review of Life   The Fun Police: She currently co-exists with two dogs and three cats. She’s totally fine sharing a roof with them, but she’s not looking for a party animal. If other dogs start playing too loudly, she goes into "Mommy Mode" to break up the fun.   The Management: Lucita excels at micro-managing her humans. If you aren't giving her enough attention, she will lock eyes with you and give a tiny, dramatic whine until you fix your behavior.   The Routine Queen: She is a car-ride champion, quiets down like a dream in her kennel, and is semi-potty trained. Keep her on a good routine, and she’s golden! Because of her spunky play style, older kiddos are best.   When she isn't busy being a total comedian, Lucita just wants to be your 27-pound weighted blanket. She is perfectly content to curl up in your bed, nestle into the couch cushions, or trot along with you on a walk.   Ready to add some literal spin to your life? Apply to adopt Lucita today!        Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. This sweet girl loves people of all ages and gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats alike. She’s happy to entertain herself with a stuffed toy of any size or chase a ball tossed her way (she’s still perfecting the return part!). She has excellent house manners, chews only on appropriate toys, keeps her kennel clean, and is generally very quiet—unless she’s excited to welcome you home. At bedtime, she loves to curl up close and sleep soundly through the night, happily waiting for you to start the day. She rides well in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and adapts easily to new situations. With her gentle nature and easygoing personality, she would be a wonderful companion for a single person, an older couple, or anyone looking for a loving, low-maintenance best friend. She is also well-suited for apartment living. Simply put, she’s an absolute delight! Adoption Fee: $795.00

Story
Age: estimated DOB 7-17-2025 Weight: 19.2lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Almost! I’m still a puppy! Crate trained: Yes Hi! My name is Dain, and I'm currently accepting applications for one very important position: My Favorite Person. The job includes couch cuddles, neighborhood adventures, cheering me on as I learn that the world isn't quite as scary as I once thought, and reminding me every day that I'm safe and loved. In return, you'll get a ridiculously handsome sidekick with striking green eyes, a goofy personality, and a heart that's just waiting to attach itself to his person. I'm a bit of a Velcro dog—I don't just want to be near you, I want to experience life with you. Kids are some of my favorite people (they're much less intimidating than tall adults!), and when we go out in public, be prepared for everyone to smile, point, and tell you how cute I am. It's just part of the job description. I'm also learning how to be a dog and discovering that life can actually be pretty fun. If my favorite human isn't around, I naturally look to my foster big sister for reassurance and will happily follow her lead wherever she goes. I haven't quite figured out this whole "playing" thing yet, but I think I'm getting close! Sometimes, if she walks away from a toy or a bone for a minute, I'll sneak over and grab it—not because I really want it, but because I'm hoping she'll come interact with me. I'm starting to realize that toys can lead to games, and games can lead to having fun with my friends. Every day my confidence grows a little more. I've been working hard on my house manners, too! Since getting neutered, I haven't been marking in the house. I do my business outside like a good boy, although I've had a few poop accidents indoors because, honestly, being outside is just so exciting that sometimes I forget to slow down and take care of business before coming back in. At bedtime, I'll happily go into my crate to sleep, though I may spend a few minutes letting you know I'd much rather be snuggled up next to you instead. I haven't been left home loose yet because I'm still settling into foster life, but I haven't shown any interest in destroying the house and would likely do just fine outside of a crate once I'm comfortable. If you're looking for an independent dog who barely notices you're there...I'm probably not your guy. But if you've always wanted a loyal little shadow who thinks you're the greatest thing in the world and just wants to do life by your side, I think we should meet. I have a feeling you might be exactly who I've been waiting for. Adoption fee: $795

Story
Welcome Mutz to CCPAL Rescue. Mutz is a 3-year-old Daug (Dachshund /Pug). He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown and a nice weight. This dog came from the hoarder or overabundance of dog situation. He has an adorable underbit and has really blossomed at the Rescue. He is a quieter dog and has learned to like to be held. He is definitely a lap companion. He is playful with other dogs and has the sturdy body of the Pug. He would love to be a companion for a person that is retired, partially retired or maybe someone with a household that wants a dog with a lower energy to join in. He would be ok with a smaller condo size yard. He is learning leash manners and getting used to commotion of the Rescue. He hasn’t experienced a lot of different things so he isn’t sure yet but he is really really nice. He is not a big shedding dog. He is fine with nail trims and baths and will make some lucky family a great companion. I would say anyone moderately active would be fine for this dog. He bonds deeply and he warms up with affection nicely. He would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is getting vaccinations, neutered and he will be ready for his forever home soon. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
PLEASE NOTE! WE ARE A TEXAS-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN TEXAS AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO YOUR STATE ONCE ADOPTED. Our adoption application can be found at haydudeequine.org Hi there! My name is Caleb, and I've been practicing my "distinguished gentleman" pose just in case you came looking for me. Don't let my serious face fool you—I'm actually a pretty easygoing guy. I'm the kind of dog who's happiest hanging out with my people, taking in the sights and smells, and enjoying life one adventure (or one nap) at a time. I've got those classic hound ears that are always ready to catch the sound of a treat bag opening from three rooms away, and a nose that takes its job very seriously. Every walk is like reading the morning newspaper, and I believe every interesting smell deserves a proper investigation. I'm sweet, loyal, and ready to trade my temporary address for a forever one. Whether we're exploring the neighborhood, riding in the car, or just relaxing on the couch after a long day, I'm happiest when I'm with my favorite humans. If you've been looking for a best friend with soulful eyes, impeccable ears, and just the right amount of charm, I think we should meet. I promise to be there for the good days, the hard days, and every day in between. Love, Caleb 🐾
