Story
Lady J Yoo Hoo!! Hello there!! Here I am! Down here!! Well, now that I have your attention, I can tell you about myself. My name is Lady, or Lady J, or “Jaws” or you can call me by my preferred nom de plume… “the Queen”. Foster mom calls me that and I have no idea why, but I like it! I am approximately 7 years old and am a dachshund mix of some sort. I am a long-waisted girl of 18 pounds. Foster mom has had me on a little diet as I was a little chunkier when I first arrived. I was found hanging around a convenience store so I think that all that fast food probably had something to do with the excess waistline I had. I am almost perfect now though, at least my weight is. My back story is mostly unknown, but one can surmise that I have had a few rough times by looking at me. First off, my lower jaw is broken on the left side. The proper name is mandible, and the dogtor told foster mom that it is an old break that not much of anything can be done about. Doc says if I can eat ok, and boy can I eat, then there is no problem. I do have an appointment with the doc to have the baby making bits taken out (yay! Had enough litters to last a lifetime!) and get my teeth cleaned and a broken one taken out. Not sure how I broke that but maybe when my jaw was broken. That is the past and I am looking forward to my future and forever home. I am housebroken and get along with the other pups and the cat who I live with. Foster mom says I can be a little bossy at times but nothing that has a bite with it. As if I could bite anything with a dislocated jaw. I love to sleep on the bed and can climb the stairs to the bed without any problem. I do like to jump off the bed which foster mom tries to stop me from doing because of my sausage shape, she says it is bad for me. I don’t really bark much, and love to spend as much time as possible with my people. If you would like to be my people, please apply to adopt me. $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Come and meet me at the Dog Days of Summer at the Next Chapter Winery on Sunday July 13th from 12:00-2:00 pm. You can find Next Chapter Winery at 16945 320th St, New Prague, MN 56071. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Meet Squirt and Squish: Double the Doxie Delight!   Squirt and Squish are two charming Dachshund brothers who bring double the love and personality. While they aren’t technically a bonded pair, these boys have been together their entire lives, and Underdog would love to see them find a forever home together.   Squirt  is a blind adventurer who doesn’t let his lack of sight slow him down one bit. This resilient pup has mastered the art of communicating with his humans. Need something? Squirt will let you know. Got it wrong? He’ll let you know that, too! He’s full of spirit and determination, proving every day that life is for living, no matter what.   Squish , on the other hand, is your classic playful Dachshund with an adorable attitude to match. He loves to play, explore, and charm everyone he meets with his spunky personality. He’s a little comedian with a tail wag that never quits!   Together, these boys enjoy the finer things in life: playing, snuggling, eating dinner, and perfecting the art of being lazy. They balance each other out beautifully—Squirt’s tenacity and Squish’s playful spirit make them the perfect pair to brighten your days.   If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this delightful duo, you’ll be rewarded with endless love, laughter, and snuggles. Squirt and Squish are ready to bring their unique brand of joy to a family who will love them just as they are—together. Could that be you? Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello everyone, my name is Howie!  I’m about 15 months old now and weighing in at a svelte 10 lbs. Very handsome if I do say so.  Foster mom says that I am blossoming like the sweetest smelling flower. When I first got to my foster mama’s house I was a little scared and reserved but not anymore! Now it’s all tail wags and zoomies. Some of my favorite things are chasing squeaky balls, finding sticks in the yard, and playing with my foster brother. I love sitting on foster mama’s lap, laying out in the sun, going for walks, and, of course, eating! I’m still reserved and shy around new people but I have a strong and loving bond with my human family. Foster mom says it will be a must to continue to expose me to new people, places and sounds to help build by courage and social abilities. Foster mama and I are working hard on potty training and walking on a leash. I do need to have a fenced yard and another dog in the home. Whenever foster mama leaves me to go out, or at night for bedtime, I go to an e-pen with an open crate. I am doing pretty well in there though I bark a little bit at night before settling in and sleeping all night like a champ. My perfect home would be where my people are home most of the time with me and there are no kids as I am still unsettled by lots of commotion. I’ve never met a kitty cat so I just don’t know what I would think about that! Foster mama says that I am a hoot! She says I walk around like I’m late for a meeting, love to do zoomies, am always eager to be near her, think it is fun to run through the nearby fields, and often flop down to show my belly while wagging my tail at 100mph.  Once I’ve gotten some energy out, I’m happy to sleep next to her on the couch. She says I’m a little lovebug! And it’s all true! Now all I need is my forever family.
