Story
Meet Paige… a spunky 5 year old who is looking for a family to love and snuggle with. Paige was surrendered to us by a woman after she had been abandoned at her house for a year by a sibling. She has been an outside dog and is learning to be housed trained. She has been introduced to numerous dogs at her foster family and has had no trouble adjusting. Her favorite activity is sleeping… either in your lap, or on the back of the couch. When it’s time to go outside… she spins in circles with excitement then quickly runs outside to explore and sniff everything. She has excellent recall and comes back quickly when called if not on a leash. She is happiest when her person is near. She will make an excellent companion to anyone looking for unconditional love.*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $300).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
JINGLE and her siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Jingle looks like she is going to be a shortie like her mommy and we expect she will be in the mid-sized dog when she is full grown. We did DNA testing on one little boy from the litter, but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Jingle has some Doxi and maybe some cattle dog in this mix. (Rumor has it that there is a male cattle dog on a neighboring ranch.) Jingle is going outside to play and do her business but in the deeply cold weather she doesn't like to stay outside too long. She is getting the hang of house breaking. She is crated for several hours a day and keeps her crate clean. She is not fully house broken but she is making headway. The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, (she weighed 5.4# on 12-1 and is one of the smallest of the litter) is vaccinated and de-wormed. She will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. Her required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that she be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Story
Caramel Do I look like a Star? Actually I have one on my forehead if you can see it through all of the fluffy that I have all over my body. Then if you adopt me, you will have a star!! I am one of 9 puppies born to a Dachshund Chihuahua mom and went to a bottle feeder along with 2 of my siblings to be bottle fed. Mom was super skinny and 9 puppies were just too much for her to handle by herself. My sister Pearl was fussy and got the bottle feeder to give us Goat’s milk instead of formula. We loved it! Foster mom thinks that dad may have had some Maltese in him as I am super fluffy and a couple of my siblings that stayed with mom are too. It makes us all very adorable. I will probably be about 20 pounds when I am fully grown as I am 5 pounds at the end of the 2025 I have my baby making bits removed on January 5, 2026 and then will be able to go to my forever home after the contest is over. Wish me luck! Local Adoption fee in Texas is $350 Out of state adoption fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $600

Story
Freddy is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky boy who is great with dogs and kids! He loves to do big zoomies in a circle, then race right back to you for cuddles. After a long day of playing fetch—where he happily chases the ball, even if he doesn’t always bring it back—Freddy is more than ready to snuggle in. If you’re on the couch, expect him to curl right into your back and soak up the love. Freddy is a joyful, affectionate boy who is absolutely ready to find his forever home. If you want it shorter or extra playful, I can tweak the tone too Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Pearl Pearl is my name and I am one of 9 puppies born to a small, dachshund/chihuahua mix mom. Unfortunately, she was really skinny except for that big belly that was full of puppies and she couldn’t feed all of us when we were born. So I came to my foster mom to get bottle fed along with 2 of my siblings. That worked out really well, but since I was a fussy fart, I refused formula and made my bottle baby mom buy goat’s milk for me to drink. It just tasted better and I loved it. In fact, I loved it so much that I told my sibbers about it and they only drank goat’s milk too!! Mmmmm!! Anyhow, now I am not so fussy but I do like my small bits puppy food so maybe I am still a little fussy so you may want to consider how you are going to spoil me when you adopt me. I will stay small as mom was only 17 pounds full of puppies so I am not sure how much she weighs now, but take away 9 puppies ... .what does that make? I get my baby making bits removed on January 5, 2026 and then will be able to go to my forever home. Will that be with you? Anyhow, I won’t last long as I am adorable, if I do say so myself! Story
Meet Rome 💙 Rome is a 6-week-old Dachshund/Terrier mix weighing 3 lbs 6 oz, and he’s as sweet as they come. With his gentle personality and adorable puppy charm, it’s impossible not to fall in love. His mama is an 18-pound Dachshund mix, so Rome is expected to stay on the smaller side when grown. Like all young pups, Rome is learning the ropes and working hard on his puppy skills and house training. He’s curious, affectionate, and ready to grow into a wonderful companion with a family who will guide him through puppyhood with patience and love. If you’re looking for a sweet little pup to add joy to your home, Rome may be the perfect match. 🐾💙
