Ryder is a sweet boy that we rescued about two years ago. He is perfect with people who give him his space until he trusts them. The issue is that he is very aggressive toward strainers and people that try to approach him other than our household members and a hand full of others. He will bite if he feels threatened, he has become a liability for our family due to the fact that in two years of training he still occasionally becomes aggressive out of the blue and will bite people. He is small so bites have caused minimal damage but we have children and their friends and our friends are have been bitten in some rare instances. He really is sweet and needs a companion to devote a lot of time. He is very attached to me but does not like any other men. He could be a great companion for an individual that lives alone and has a lot of time for snuggling and playing.

He is not used to a lot of human contact, and will bark at strangers, but not aggressively, just a warning that he's uncomfortable in the current situation. His Texan foster family said it took about a day and a half for him to realize that they were the good guys, and now he just can't get enough pets! I'm going to let you in on a little secret.. the dogs that make you work for it?? they are loyal to you for life. This little man is going to be your new best friend.. and he's not going to let you forget it. He plays well with other dogs that are around his same size, but has not been tested with large dogs or cats. He is working on the whole potty training thing. Limiting his water and having a routine of scheduled potty breaks seems to be working for him, and if kept on a consistent routine, he should be 100% potty trained in no time at all! Mauricio is kenneled at night, and does so without complaint. sleeping there through the night until his foster mom takes him on his 6:30am potty break. He is fed in his kennel as well as taking any high value treats there. This handsome, sweet, playful boy is Kirby! Kirby is such a happy boy – he wags his tail so hard that his whole-body wiggles and just look at how he’s smiling in all the pictures. Kirby really loves to be with you. He loves to sit on your lap and cuddle, but his absolute favorite are belly rubs. Kirby is like the best looking guy in the bar. He plays hard to get… but once he gets to know you, he’s actually a good guy! Because of this little quirk, transitions into a new home will be harder but give this junk some time and patience and you’ll have the most handsome guy in town! Kirby is also a huge fan of toys, toys & more toys! Most of the time he’s running around with a toy or two in his mouth. He thinks it’s fun if you’ll toss toys so he can go get them. Kirby gets along great with the three other pups in the household and plays with all of them. Kirby can be bossy and want to control the play when he is with puppies and small dogs. He is great with big dogs- he enjoys playing, snuggling and following a big friend. Kirby does great on walks & is such a good boy in his crate. He would love a fenced at his forever home. I have never met any cats, but I am good with kids and other dogs. Welcome Magnolia to the CCPAL Rescue. She is a 10-pound Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix. She and the litter were born under a trailer in Texas in the winter. A couple of the puppies did not make it. They are 10 months old. Magnolia has some adorable ears. She has mostly up ears but sometimes one folds and one is up. She has the body of a chiweenie. She has the shortest legs of the 3 pups. She loves to run and is extremely fast. She is very dog centric and playful. She loves other dogs. Despite their upbringing they are very affectionate and like to be petted. Magnolia is the most independent and while she likes to be in the room with you she will sit on a chair in the room with you. She likes to be down on the floor over being carried. She is good in a crate and decent on the leash. If she is in the front seat when in the car then she doesn't get car sick. Their tail has been cut off by the owners and not a vet. She has a 1 inch nub tail and is the most stocky of the 3 girls. Magnolia is a little shy and doesn't have to be hugged and cuddled like the other 2 girls do. She is content playing with toys and being in the same room with her person. Magnolia got her Bordatella, Nexguard and her Distemper vaccine today. She will be scheduled for spay soon and get her Rabies. Once you picked them up they came to the front of their kennel ready to be picked up. They are adorable dogs and very deserving of a new home where they are the center of attention for their family. They would be great for anyone wanting a loving lap companion. They are very inexperienced with life in general but very much enjoy attention and love. They are small enough to be carried easily and have the big personality and bark to let you know that something is wrong. We would love someone who has owned a Chihuahua before. They are great dogs and not too big of shedders. Their teeth are sparkly white and will not need cleanings for a while. Adoption fee and transport is 550.
