Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Looking for a great home for our husky, Petrie. She will be 6 years old in December and is spayed. She is house trained and would thrive in a household without other pets or small children. She spent her life with an older dog that has now passed, they got along well but she exhibits dominant behavior. She is a loving dog. She is a full husky and acts as such so hoping to find someone who loves the breed and knows what it takes to care for her properly.

Story
Finn is one years old. He loves to be outside so a lot of land or a fenced in yard would be best. Due to my husband having to go back to the office we are unable to give him the attention he needs. He’s house broken, sociable, whip smart, professionally trained in obedience. We want to find him the home he deserves and unfortunately we are unable to provide it at this time.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Otto could spend hours with you out in the yard as you throw his Kong and he fetches it. When he isn't playing with his Kong, he likes to be a 55lb lap dog. Otto would be happiest in a home with adults, and he gets along with female dogs and cats. He does not do well living with other male dogs.

Story
Looking for a dog who is "move-in ready"? Then Hanna is your girl. She is a 7-year-old, 65 pound pit mix. She is housebroken and walks well on-leash. She is a popular dog in our Doggy Day Out program. She loves to go for car rides and has good car manners. She spends as many days as she can out exploring the trails at the park. She would prefer a home without small children or cats. To meet Hanna, fill out an application at www.apl-shelter.org or call the shelter at (217) 544-7387.

Story
Brad (full name Brad Pitt-bull) is an 8-year-old, 56-pound pit mix. He can't see very well, but he has learned to compensate pretty well. He is a gentle, sweet, loving boy. He is one of our most popular dogs in our Doggy Day Out program. He LOVES car rides and rides like the perfect gentleman he is. He is low energy and prefers to just lounge around. He enjoys walking on a leash, and spending time with people (he's not a big fan of other animals). If you like to chill and spend time petting dogs, then he is the one for you. He will be your BFF forever! If you are interested in adopting Brad Pitt-bull, call the APL at 217-544-7387 or fill out an application at apl-shelter.org!

Story
This adorable girl came to us from an animal control facility with the deadly parvo virus. She beat that virus and now her true self is shining through. She is happy and energetic. Her favorite activity is just hanging out with people, getting lots of pets and belly rubs. When she is left alone for any amount of time, she goes in her crate and curls up on her bed for a nap. She is housebroken and has developed some good leash behavior during her time at the APL. Angel believes 72 pounds is the perfect size to be a lap dog. She is a social dog and does well with fellow canines both large and small. To meet this 4-year-old pit mix, fill out an application at www.apl-shelter.org or call the shelter at (217) 544-7387.
