Story
Behind those sweet little eyes, miss Molly has had quite the past before being rescued. Molly is a 5-year-old, 7-pound Chihuahua. She was recovered from a hoarding home that had caught on fire. When officials pulled Molly from the home she was not breathing, and her gums were blue from lack of oxygen and smoke inhalation! She was rushed to our vet clinic where she was hospitalized to save her life. While there they discovered she was pregnant. She recovered well with vet care but unfortunately, she lost her puppies as they were born premature due to the stress of the fire and her rescue. Molly is still shy and prefers to watch the action from a safe and comfy blanket. But, she is opening up a little more each day. Molly will come snuggle next to you for some pets and attention (especially if treats are involved). She would be best in a home with another dog who is confondent and friendly. Molly does well with dogs her size but has not been around large dogs, cats, or small children due to her nervousness. She can be crated, doesn’t mind car rides, and likes time out of doors. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Her minimum adoption donation amount is $325. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
💖 Meet Jolie — Tiny, Sweet, and Totally Irresistible! Don’t let her size fool you — this 5-pound Chihuahua has a heart big enough to fill a room! At around 8–10 years old, Jolie is the definition of sugar and sunshine. She adores cuddles, gives the sweetest little kisses, and will happily melt into your arms for attention. Jolie is fabulous in the car — she rides like a pro — and is comfortable in a crate when needed. She’s potty pad trained but really loves to spend time outside soaking up the sunshine and sniffing the breeze. She’s a social little lady who gets along beautifully with small dogs, cats, and gentle older children. Her favorite things in life? Being near her person, getting loved on, and wrapping herself up in cozy moments. Jolie does have a “bum leg” from an old injury that can’t be fixed, but don’t tell her that — she’s got places to go and hearts to win! It doesn’t slow her down one bit. Whoever adopts this tiny treasure will be incredibly lucky — Jolie is pure love in a 5-pound package. 🌸 Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Her minimum adoption donation amount is $275 She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. Story
Sir Ukulele is a 6-year-old Rat Terrier with a stunning blue coat, long deer-like legs, and undeniable main-character energy. Currently 23 pounds (aiming for 15), he’s on a relatable wellness journey fueled by love… and snacks. The good stuff: • Extremely friendly — strangers are just future friends • Gives full-body, world-class hugs • Great with other dogs; would love a dog sibling • Cats and respectful kids are fine • Leash walks are great • Potty training in progress • Car rides fine (unless it’s to the vet) The honest stuff: • Doesn’t love being alone • Nail trims = absolutely not Sir Ukulele would thrive with someone who’s home often, has a calm, confident leadership style, and a sense of humor. He’s sensitive, affectionate, and deeply devoted — the kind of dog who will follow you everywhere, hug you like he means it, and make you laugh daily. If you want a loyal, hilarious, big-hearted companion, Sir Ukulele is ready for his next chapter. Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.
