She has adjusted well and spends time with us everywhere. She loves the sun and being outside.    Bettie is very food motivated, so treats win her heart. She is eager to try new things and meet new people. When meeting new people, she needs someone who is slow and gets down to her level. She doesn't like loud noises or movements. She is still working on leashes, but likes walks. She loves to run!   It's been a joy creating a space for Bettie’s personality to come out.    About Me: Hello! My name is Bettie, my foster family calls me Bettie boop. I am the sweetest little girl. I'm gentle, kind, and curious. I'm still a puppy, so I have some energy, but only after I warm up to my environment. I have a background that makes me a little skittish around loud noises and movements. Therefore I need someone who is patient and kind, but once I'm comfortable, I'll be the best walking, snuggling or any adventure loving pup! I do well with other dogs in the house, but can also be by myself.    I love cuddles, especially on blankets and beds. I am house trained, and crate trained. I like playing, but only when I'm ready. I eat separately from my foster brothers, but I'm a good eater! I'm trying so many new things like couches and beds!     My foster parents are my favorite. They give me treats and pets whenever I ask. I love to run and snuggle. I spend my days soaking in the sun and playing. My one eye doesn't hold me back from experiencing all these new things and can't wait to find my forever home.   August 31, 2026, 6:24 pm

Robbie very obviously doesn’t believe in strangers and loves meeting new people and new animals. We believe Robbie can be a perfect edition to any home and we look forward to meeting a new family for him!! About Me: Hi! My name is Robbie. I came from Alabama with 9 of my siblings. It was a little scary at first but I get to see my brother from time to time and I love getting to play with him! I live with a cat right now and we get along very well. I love kisses and cuddling up with my foster family. I love my toys, especially my stuffed broccoli, I take it with me everywhere. I love meeting new people. I don’t hesitate to explore as I am very curious about new things. I love being outside and love chewing on sticks just as much as I love cuddling on the couch. I love to flop down on your lap and will melt into your arms when I get pets and kisses. I love chasing the cat in our house, because I always think he’s trying to play. Sometimes when I calm down we can play together very well. I look forward to meeting you and finding my forever home. Love, Robbie     August 31, 2026, 6:24 pm

Name: Reik Age: Puppy, DOB: 4/18/26 Gender: Male Breed: Hound /Lab mix Weight: 22 lbs Dog Friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Yes  Child Friendly: Yes House Trained: Yes- puppy on a schedule  Crate Trained: Yes Energy Level: Puppy Temperament: Playful, social, friendly, smart Requirements: Not apartment appropriate Adoption Fee: $500 + tax  To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family: This sweet puppy is full of personality and loves to stay busy! Favorite activities include carrying around sticks, playing with stuffed toys, and an enthusiastic game of tug-of-war. He's always ready to chase the resident dog around the yard and then happily climb into the foster mom's lap for cuddles and attention. He is used to all the construction workers and equipment noise as they are redoing our road.   He is comfortable and confident on leash. Potty training is also progressing well, especially with a consistent routine. He goes to the door when he needs to go potty now. This smart, affectionate puppy is eager to learn and would thrive in a home that will continue providing love, playtime, and positive reinforcement.   He is very good about going into his kennel with no issue. He sleeps in his kennel at night and goes in during the day while I work. He gets to see his puppy sitter for potty and playtime in the middle of the day. And more play time after dinner in the evening.    If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion who will keep you smiling, this puppy could be the perfect addition to your family!   About Me: I was so lucky to get to come to MN from Alabama for a great life with a new family. That van ride took a long time, but I don't  mind being on the open road. I am learning the ropes around here by following everyone around. I have all these cool toys here to keep me busy. Every once in a while I find a sock to toss around. The resident dog and I get along well and I love playing with him.    I love all the sticks in the yard and I love to find the biggest one to drag around.  After a good play session I like to cuddle up with my foster mom in the recliner and take a snooze.August 31, 2026, 6:24 pm

Name: Finley   Age: Adult / DOB: 05/18/2023  Gender: Male Breed:  Shih Tzu / Terrier mix   Weight: 16 lbs Dog friendly:  Yes Cat friendly:  Yes Child friendly: Yes  House trained:  Yes   Crate trained:  not needed isolated to a room Energy level:  Moderate  Temperament:  Friendly, Affectionate, Eager to Please, Intelligent  Adoption Fee:  $375+tax To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html  Meet Your New Best Friend  This scruffy little gentleman has quite the story—he was found wandering on his own, and sadly, no one came to claim him. But what he may have lost in his past, he more than makes up for in charm, resilience, and heart. He’s a small terrier mix with the most adorable wiry coat and a signature little underbite that gives him a constant “smile.” His soulful eyes and curious personality make it impossible not to fall for him. Despite his rough start, he’s incredibly sweet and loves being around people. He’s the kind of dog who will happily follow you from room to room, just wanting to be near his person. Whether it’s cuddle time on the couch or exploring the yard, he’s simply happy to be included. He has been successful around dogs, cats, and kids, and truly loves everybody he meets. Medical Note:  This handsome boy has Chronic Superficial Keratitis (CSK), also known as pannus, a chronic inflammatory eye condition that affects the cornea. CSK is typically immune-mediated and can cause pigmentation, blood vessel growth, and cloudiness in the eyes over time. While the condition is not curable, it is very manageable with consistent treatment, usually involving an affordable medicated eye ointment applied every other day. He is currently doing well, and with lifelong management and regular veterinary care, many dogs with CSK maintain good vision and enjoy a normal, happy life.  Why you’ll love him: Loyal and affectionate companion Low-maintenance size—perfect for almost any home Full of personality with a gentle, loving nature Great with dogs, cats, and children Ready to bond deeply with his forever family He deserves a second chance at a life filled with love, comfort, and security—and he’ll give that love right back tenfold. Could you be his happy ending? August 31, 2026, 6:24 pm

Robin has a wonderfully balanced personality. While she enjoys chasing a tennis ball or wrestling with another puppy, she's generally calm and well-behaved. She settles down quickly after playtime. She’s affectionate, and loves to cuddle up on the sofa. She also loves exploring and just laying in grass soaking up the sun.   Robin is curious and eager to learn. Like any puppy, she'll need continued training and consistency, but she pays attention, and understands the word "no".    Robin would thrive with a fenced yard where she can play, or just relax on her own.   If you're looking for a puppy who's playful without being over-the-top, is affectionate, and has a easygoing temperament, Robin just might be your perfect match! About Me: I might be shy to begin with, but once I get to know you, I'm your best friend. I am calmer and more attentive than most dogs my age.  August 31, 2026, 6:24 pm
