Story
My name is Murphy and I am a gorgeous brindle boy.  Per my DNA test I'm 37% American pitbull terrier, 12% Australian cattle dog and 7% Labrador retriever. I am a good boy, sadly I've been at the shelter for a long time :( and here is what you need to know:  I need a home with a great leader who can continue my current routines, I'm kennel trained and muzzle trained if you live in an area where i need to wear a muzzle to go for walk. I know sit, down, wait, I love walks and hikes, car rides, belly rubs under the sun, eating ice, doing zoomies on the snow, and I love people!  I have a high prey drive so no small dogs or cats for me. I like children but I think it's best that I live with older ones as I might be a little too strong for them. If you think I can come to your house and show you what a good boy I am, please reach out and let's meet!   Thank you!!!  Love, Murphy.  Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. The adoption fee is $100 plus tax and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter and a home training session.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only during the social distancing stage of quarantine.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Story
My story will break your heart but perhaps knowing some of the details would allow me to take credit for how far I've come in my healing journey.  My future is bright with a forever family who will show me the grace, love and consistency I need for success.  While I love to play with most other dogs, there are times when too much stimulation contributes to temporary insanity.  My humans will need to read my clues and advocate for my needs.  That may mean quiet time in a kennel or supervised couch snuggles.  My walking skills are improving remarkably but there are days when I'll need shorter, more frequent walks as opposed to one long walk. When my forever family establishes a consistent routine for me, kindly redirects my missteps and constantly rewards my wins,  my devotion, love and appreciation will overflow.  For more information, please email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. Story
Hi, my name is Sigh and I have been looking for my forever home for over a year. I used to have a home and due to my pawrents separating I found myself at a shelter. I couldn’t understand why, if I had done nothing wrong, why? It was so hard on me, I used to sleep on a comfy bed and leaving my home expose to other dogs and loud noises made me very sad and anxious, that’s why I prefer to be the only fur child but I love kids :) I was taken in for training and that changed my life! I love learning and my favorite sport is agility. I know sit, down, stay, come, “give me paw”, turn around, roll over, “find it”, and during my free time I love sleeping on a warm human lap and giving kisses. Oh! Did I say I’m kennel trained? I know my dream home is out there, I just need you to see the big heart I have, I’d love to play with kids, and could learn to live with cats…. Or I could live with someone who wants walks and snuggles .. . It’s all up to you!    Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some,                                                                       and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. Story
Meet Cash, the 83-pound hunk of staffie mix – a living testament to the saying, "Big dogs, big hearts, bigger appetites." Cash is a master of basic commands, but occasionally practices selective hearing. The way to Cash’s attention is through his stomach - which makes the staff feel he is highly trainable. On walks, Cash is a sniffing Sherlock Holmes, investigating everything thoroughly, so it may be a zigzagging adventure until he has a chance for more training. And when it comes to wildlife, Cash's high prey drive transforms him into a canine Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Backyard Squirrel, so a good harness leash is recommended. Cash's quirks are balanced by moments of pure zen. Imagine quiet evenings with Cash, the cuddle aficionado, offering generous kisses and turning your downtime into the best part of the day.Stubborn at times, sure, but Cash's charm lies in his personality. He's not just a dog; he's a comedic companion, adding laughter and love to every day. Ready for a treat-filled, adventure-packed life? Adopt Cash – because life's better with an 83-pound bundle of joy.  For more information, visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/ Thanks to our amazing Angel Sponsors, our long term pups now come with reduced adoption fees, alleviating financial road blocks for some, and making it even easier to open your heart and home to a furry friend. Story
I want you to believe I'm a bad girl but deep down, I'm a cream puff.  I have been known to instigate rumbles with other dogs but ultimately got my butt kicked.  So, don't fall for my cocky but adorable head tilt and side eye.  I am ready to be pampered and snuggled by my devoted forever human(s) and be their one and only.  Tummy scratches are a favorite but I'd be happy to lay my head in your lap for an afternoon of relaxation too.  While I need some walks and outdoor play to keep up my girly figure, I'm not one to demand constant exercise and entertainment.  I thrive in a structured environment where the rules are clear and consistent and the love and rewards flow generously. If you are the one who will snuggle with me please contract Town and Country Humane Society and set up a time to meet me. Story
Nolan is a 1 year 9 1/2 mth old shepherd mix. He has lots of energy and loves to play, play, play, with other dogs! Nolan is very athletic and can jump high so a yard with a 6ft privacy fence is needed. He loves agility courses and would love a jogging partner and/or another dog to play with. Since being in a foster home, Nolan has been working on things like kennel training, how to go potty outside, and his basic commands! He is a smart boy who learns quickly!  He is ready for his forever home so if you think he is the dog for you, please fill out an application to come meet him. The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.
