Story
Nilla is a loving 4 year old German Shepard. She is full of energy and loves to play. But she will also happily sit on your lap and watch some TV. She has anxiety which is triggered by noises. Her anxiety leaves her pacing and causes her to have frequent accidents. Unfortunately she currently lives next to a bus barn and have tried getting her adjusted for the past 4.5 years but we haven’t been successful. She gets excited and barks when people come over but quickly calms down and loves to just be around everyone. She is a sweet dog that just needs a little extra love and attention. Someone who has land and away from in town would be ideal!

Zuko is fearful of strangers! He is good with kids! He hasn’t been tested around cats. No dogs, due to his reactivity! He previously belonged to the owner’s parents, but they are no longer able to care for him. The owner is surrendering him because she moved away and is unable to take care of him permanently. If you think you can provide a great home for Zuko, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. Story
COURTESY POST FOR A VERY SPECIAL BOY!  Papi is a 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier that needs a forever home. He has a story that most won't believe and is incredibly sad. Papi has lived his entire life in a kennel. He has never experienced his own person, couch, bed, or backyard. He quite simply was failed. He was first failed by the people who promised to raise him and give him all the things that he deserved. Papi was then failed a second time by a local rescue in Lincoln Nebraska that took him in and promised him a home. They did not do what a rescue is supposed to do when they take responsibility of an animal in need. This rescue left Papi in a kennel run without any daily social interaction with other dogs and very little interaction with people. They did very little to get his information out to the public. They gave up on him. To say that we are amazed that Papi is as kind and gentle as he is...well that is an understatement. Papi was deemed a dangerous dog and that sealed his fate. He was not trained. He was not tested with other animals. He was labeled and due to that, he sat waiting. He still would be waiting had I not pulled him from this awful life. He would still be sitting there had Joe not taken a leap of faith in this unbelievable dog. Shockingly enough the location that boarded Papi had a trainer on site but the rescue did not care enough to do the work and have anyone work with Papi to see who he really was. It's sad and it makes me so angry. So much time wasted. Papi is now in Glenwood Iowa at S&B Kountry Kennel with Joe and living a life so much better than before but still is not what I wish for him....he needs the couch and the person. Papi is not a dangerous dog, he is quite the opposite. Papi is up to date on all his vaccines, he is neutered, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. Papi has no known illnesses and does not have issues with allergies like some terriers experience. He can be playful and he can be lazy, but what he really wants is to be loved and give hugs. Papi gives the very best hugs! He is the perfect size, not too big and not too small. He is muzzle-trained and leash-trained and is very very smart. We stand behind Papi. For this reason, the person who steps up to be his hero will never be alone in their journey with Papi because we will support them and Papi in any way we can. S&B is offering 4 free training sessions to his potential adopters if they are interested! Plus we love the big lug and would be devastated to not have some special part in his life! You can visit Papi in pictures and videos on S&B Kountry Kennel 's facebook page. I will also leave some videos in comments! Please be Papi's hero. He has waited way too long and half of his life is over...he NEEDS to have a forever home. I am begging... please share with friends, family, loved ones! Let's all come together and show this baby what the power of love and sharing can do. Let's find Papi a home! Story
I LIKE BIG MUTTS AND I CANNOT LIE! What up? The name is Skip, but I spell it $kip. I’m a 2 yr old, 80 lb, housebroken, crate trained, good-lookin’ mutt. Not 1 application has been turned in for me in 7 months though. Ain’t that a bunch of bull! I guess maybe it’s because I don’t like to kick it with other animals too much, but come on, I deserve a forever family too! I don’t need dog parks and play dates, but I’d love a running partner or a fenced in yard…And I don’t mean running from the cops or a fenced in prison yard. I want to sniff all the smells, snuggle with my people, chew all the bones and toys, go for car rides in the Benz, and be a loyal homeboy. I first came to this bada$$ rescue when they saved me and other animals from a hoarding/neglect case in a small Nebraska town. I had lived my whole life outside on a tight chain hooked to a tree…Unfortunately I’m not talking about a gold chain. The chain was basically embedded in my neck and required special equipment to remove. I had several canine siblings at that house who have since all been adopted, but now I’m requesting no more furry siblings for me. I love humans though and I dream about going on adventures with my own someday. I’m a strong guy, so your 92 year old Granny and your newborn baby are probably not great matches for my forever home. No disrespect.  I’ve been neutered, fully vetted and vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, and I’m ready for my happy-ever-after! I would love to share my joy for life with you! My adoption donation fee is $250. Story
Little Thumper is a 1.5 year old happy girl and in foster care where she is loving and living it up! This sweetest girl is now ready to keep loving life with you but unfortunately she has had a sad start to life. Thumper is so happy and loves being right at your side. Running in the backyard and just being outside are some of her favorite things to do. Really she will go along with anything, just as long as she's by her companion.  Thumper is a 65 pound Weimaraner/pitbull mix who was found as a stray in a small town. She was then brought to a small shelter where she's spent the last 7 months until recently. She is so glad to be out! Thumper loves people and other dogs. She will snuggle as much as you want and will play non-stop with other dogs if you let her.  She is mastering some basic commands right now, and is very eager to please. No apartments please this beauty needs a fenced in yard! If you're seeking a devoted companion to bring joy into your life look no further Miss  Thumper is your girl! Story
Meet Suki, a gorgeous 5 yr old, 63 lb Husky Mix that will love you forever and always!  She will definitely be her owner's sidekick and be by your side snooping into whatever you are doing. Who doesn't love a second opinion or a back seat driver? Suki is learning to play with and loves stuffy toys, deer antlers, and tennis balls! In fact, she loves her stuffies a little too much so maybe crate only until she learns to share stuffies. This amazing girl would also love a family who would take her on walks and let her tag along on all adventures. Suki lived for two years in a basement with little outside time, but now lives with three dogs in her foster home and does well with them...ok so she doesn't love to share her favorite stuffy yet, but she is making lots of progress and learning. Have extra loves and attention to share? She's just your fluffy girl then, as she is quite the snuggle bug and LOVES attention. Does Suki sound too good to be true? Well almost except for her nemesis.... the dreaded chain link fence. She will climb them like a monkey in a tree! Yep she's a climber, so no chain link fences for this girl. This stunning lovebug is waiting for a family that will love her to pieces as much as she will love you to pieces! Please apply and give her the happily ever after she so deserves at www.havenanimalrescuenebraska.org ADOPTION DONATION FEE $300 PLEASE SUBMIT AN APPLICATION AT: https://havenanimalrescuenebraska.org/adoption-application We do not have a facility.
